Recent coverage describes Lady Gaga’s Malibu estate as her home, but the properties associated with her over the years include both rentals and a house she has since sold. Her best-known purchase is the Malibu property, reported at roughly $22.5 million to $23 million; she also owned Frank Zappa’s former Laurel Canyon compound before selling it in 2021. The figures below are historical reports, not a current appraisal or a verified list of everything she owns.
Where does Lady Gaga live?
As of 2026, Architectural Digest and Elle Decor describe Gaga’s Malibu estate as her home or primary residence. The available reporting does not establish a contemporaneous ownership record, so that description should be understood as recent coverage rather than a deed-verified statement. Her past New York rentals and sold Laurel Canyon home are part of her real-estate history, not evidence of where she lives now.
The properties below are notable homes reported in coverage over the years; they are not an exhaustive address list. Street addresses are unnecessary to understand the timeline.
Her homes and rentals, in chronological order
Lower East Side apartment and Bel-Air rental
Elle Decor recounts that Gaga lived in a Lower East Side apartment before rising to fame and rented a Bel-Air house in 2009. These are retrospective accounts of earlier homes; they do not establish a current residence. Elle Decor’s overview provides the historical context.

Central Park South duplex: a New York rental
In 2013, Gaga reportedly began renting a two-bedroom, 2,000-square-foot duplex penthouse on Central Park South for $22,000 per month. Architectural Digest describes terraces, fireplaces and privacy features; the apartment also appeared in Gaga: Five Foot Two. Elle Decor likewise identifies it as a rental. The reported monthly amount is historical, not a current asking rent. (Architectural Digest; Elle Decor)
Malibu estate: bought in 2014
Gaga’s most prominent documented purchase is an estate across from Zuma Beach in Malibu. The Los Angeles Times reported a $23 million purchase in 2014, while later Architectural Digest and Elle Decor coverage gives $22.5 million. The sources therefore support a reported price range of roughly $22.5 million to $23 million, not one uncontested exact figure. (Los Angeles Times; Architectural Digest; Elle Decor)
Rank #2
Architectural Digest describes the estate as nearly six acres, with a 10,270-square-foot main residence. Reported features include equestrian facilities, an ocean-view pool and spa, a wine cellar, a home theater and a vintage two-lane bowling alley. These details help explain why the property stands out in coverage; they are not a current valuation of the land or house. In Vogue’s 2018 profile, Gaga described the home simply: “This is my sanctuary.” (Architectural Digest; Vogue)
Chelsea townhouse: a New York rental
Elle Decor reports that Gaga rented a six-story Chelsea townhouse in 2016 for $67,000 per month. A 2021 realestate.com.au overview also gives that historical rent. The reports describe a lease, not a purchase, and the figure should not be read as a current rental price. (Elle Decor; realestate.com.au)
Rank #3
Laurel Canyon compound: bought in 2016, sold in 2021
Gaga bought Frank Zappa’s former Laurel Canyon compound in 2016 for $5.25 million and sold it in August 2021 for $6.45 million, according to Los Angeles Magazine’s report citing public records. Realtor.com also reported the purchase and sale amounts. The buyer was not identified in the Los Angeles Magazine account. (Los Angeles Magazine; Realtor.com)
The compound included a Tudor-style main house, two guest cottages, a pool, a rooftop tennis court and Zappa’s recording studio. Los Angeles Magazine reported that Gaga recorded music there, including work associated with Chromatica. The reported sale price is a transaction figure from 2021, not a present-day valuation.

What the reported portfolio figures do—and do not—show
In 2021, realestate.com.au described Gaga’s real estate as a $36.1 million portfolio. That was a secondary-source headline estimate at the time, not a current aggregate valuation. The available reporting does not establish a current total or a complete, deed-based inventory of her properties. Historical purchase prices and rents cannot be added together to produce a reliable present-day net worth or property value.
For the same reason, the Malibu purchase figures should retain their source attribution: the Los Angeles Times reported $23 million in 2014, while later retrospectives report $22.5 million. Neither figure should be presented as a current market value.
