Channel 7’s renovation competition Dream Home, hosted by Dr Chris Brown, premiered at 7pm on Sunday 26 May 2024 on Channel 7 and 7plus. The date in the original title is now in the past; the announcement of 7plus as a launch platform does not confirm that episodes are still available there.

What was Dream Home about?

Dream Home put six pairs of Australians into a room-by-room renovation competition, with each pair transforming another couple’s suburban family home. Seven’s launch description also identified three expert judges and a prize for the winning couple. Seven’s 24 May 2024 contestant preview gave details of the pairs and the scheduled premiere, while Seven’s 2024 upfront description outlined the competition format.

What was Dr Chris Brown’s role?

Brown hosted the series and supported contestants as they worked through renovation challenges. In a 7NEWS interview published on premiere day, he described his role this way: “I’m there to help lift their spirits and help give them a pep talk when they need it.” He also said, “There’s so much natural drama, you don’t have to fake anything.”

What renovation products and partners were connected to the launch?

Seven’s 2024 launch partnerships covered renovation-related categories including paint, lighting, tiles, bathroom products, window coverings and renovation services. The named partners included Dulux, Beacon Lighting, Beaumont Tiles, Highgrove Bathrooms, Luxaflex, hipages and Energy, according to Seven’s 21 May 2024 partner announcement. Luxaflex separately described itself as the series’ exclusive window-covering supplier in its partnership announcement. These are historical launch details, not confirmation that the brands remain associated with the show.

Seven and Pinterest also announced an integrated partnership around the room reveals. Viewers could explore reveal content, save renovation inspiration to Pinterest boards and browse products from program sponsors, as described in their announcement. That makes the show’s connection to paint, lighting or window-covering ideas practical for viewers planning a room, but the launch material does not establish that a specific product was used in a particular episode.

Is Dream Home returning, or still streaming?

The 2024 premiere announcement establishes that the series launched on Channel 7 and 7plus; it does not establish whether episodes remain on 7plus on 8 October 2026. Nor does the announcement of My Reno Rules indicate that Dream Home has been renewed. Endemol Shine Australia described My Reno Rules as a separate renovation program for Seven and 7plus, also hosted by Brown, in its show announcement. Current catalogue availability and a Dream Home return have not been confirmed by these announcements.
