The Construction Industry Council of Westchester & Hudson Valley, Inc. launched an advertising campaign on September 29, 2026, encouraging young adults to consider careers in skilled construction trades. The campaign began at the Elizabeth Seton Young Adult Center construction site in White Plains and promotes hands-on training, career advancement, and earning while learning as alternatives to treating a four-year degree as the only route to a successful career.
What the campaign is intended to promote
In its September 30, 2026 report, Real Estate In-Depth described the campaign as an effort to raise awareness of construction-trade career options among young adults. Its message is that construction can suit people drawn to hands-on work, problem-solving, technology, building, and seeing the results of their work.

The campaign is part of a broader workforce effort by the Construction Industry Council of Westchester & Hudson Valley, Inc. and the Building Contractors Association of Westchester & The Mid-Hudson Region, Inc. Real Estate In-Depth says the council represents more than 600 businesses, including contractors, suppliers, consultants, and other construction-related professionals. It also reports that building and construction trade unions in the region represent more than 20 skilled trades.

A photo caption identified campaign feature Kevin Coronado, Trainee Local 137, alongside John Cooney Jr., executive director of the council. What the announcement does—and does not—tell prospective trainees
The campaign coverage describes the breadth of regional trades but does not name specific apprenticeship programs, unions to contact, application dates, eligibility requirements, or enrollment steps. Anyone interested in training will need current information from a verified local program or trade-union source before deciding how to apply.
