What the Data Cave installation video showed
DataCenterKnowledge reported on December 31, 2008, that the video followed the delivery and installation of the generator and its diesel fuel tank. The installation was part of a new data center project in Columbus, Indiana.
- Generator: diesel, rated at 2 MW, with a reported weight of 60,000 pounds.
- Fuel tank: reported capacity of 3,000 gallons.
- Facility: 84,000 square feet, as described in the 2008 report.

What is known about the equipment—and what is not
The report identifies the generator’s fuel type and capacity, but does not give its manufacturer or model. It also does not describe transfer equipment, operating arrangements, maintenance, or how long the installation could supply power. Those details cannot be inferred from the 2 MW rating or the tank capacity alone.

The figures describe the installation as reported in 2008; they do not establish whether the same generator remains at the site or its present condition.
Keep the installation distinct from other data-center projects

A 2022 Data Center Dynamics report said the Columbus facility was built in 2008 and had previously been managed by Data Cave, which Immedion acquired in 2018. DartPoints acquired Immedion in 2021.
