Vortex Companies announced on September 30, 2026, that it had acquired the business and operating assets of UK trenchless rehabilitation contractor Torrent Drainage Services Limited. Torrent’s operations are to become part of McAllister, the UK business Vortex acquired in 2025. Vortex says the move will add field capacity and technical capabilities; the announcement does not disclose a purchase price or separate closing date.

Vortex said it acquired Torrent Drainage Services Limited’s business and operating assets. The announcement does not identify a purchase price, financing details or a separate effective date. Vortex’s September 30, 2026 announcement describes the transaction.
What services does Torrent provide?
The capabilities identified by Vortex include:
- Cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining
- Patch installations and repairs
- Sewer cleaning
- CCTV inspection
- Robotic lateral reinstatement
What will happen to Torrent after the acquisition?
Torrent’s operations are to become part of McAllister, a Vortex company. Vortex announced its acquisition of McAllister Group on April 10, 2025, establishing an existing UK operating platform for Torrent’s integration. Vortex’s McAllister announcement provides background on that earlier deal.
Vortex says combining Torrent’s field resources and technical capabilities with McAllister will expand McAllister’s field capacity and its ability to self-perform trenchless rehabilitation work in the UK. These are the company’s stated aims; the announcement does not report measured post-acquisition results.

Why does Vortex say the deal matters?
Vortex linked the acquisition to investment in UK water and wastewater infrastructure, saying the work must be delivered in the field. Mike Vellano, Chief Executive Officer of Vortex Companies, said: “AMP8 represents a significant commitment to improving the UK’s water and wastewater infrastructure, but ultimately that investment has to translate into work delivered in the field.”
Dan Watson, Senior Vice President, Vortex International, said: “Torrent gives us a skilled team that understands both the work and the standards we expect in the field.” Torrent founder Gregg Sanders said: “Joining Vortex builds on the vision I had when I started Torrent—to deliver exceptional work and become a trusted partner to our customers.” These statements express the speakers’ views, not independently verified outcomes.

Vortex describes itself as having “more than 60 locations worldwide.” The acquisition announcement does not give a quantified AMP8 investment total or independent evidence of resulting performance gains. Vortex’s company history page also includes Torrent in its acquisition portfolio.
