Choose the hardware style that suits the cabinet

Check fit before ordering or drilling
Measure the existing hole spacing if you are replacing a handle, and check the door or drawer-front thickness. A product’s overall size is not the same as the distance between its mounting holes. If you are drilling new holes, confirm the specified hole diameter and placement against the instructions for that exact model.
HACKÅS knob
IKEA lists the HACKÅS as an aluminum knob with powder coating, sold in a two-pack with screws included. Its stated measurements are 9/16-inch length, 15/16-inch width, and 11/16-inch depth. The product is suitable for doors 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick and specifies a 3/16-inch drilled-hole diameter. See the HACKÅS product details rather than applying these dimensions to another knob. IKEA’s product copy describes it as “easy to grip and smooth to the touch,” while giving a modern look to a kitchen; that is the manufacturer’s description, not an independent assessment.

VINNÄSET knob
VINNÄSET is a separate option: IKEA describes it as solid beech with clear acrylic lacquer. It comes in a two-pack with screws, is listed for doors 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick, and measures 1 7/16 inches in diameter. Its specified drilled-hole diameter is 3/16 inch. Confirm these details on the VINNÄSET product page; they do not establish the fit of other IKEA hardware.
Install in the right sequence
For a full IKEA kitchen installation, IKEA’s guide places knobs and handles after cabinet frames, countertops, appliances, drawer slides, drawers, doors, and shelves. The US kitchen installation guide was published November 7, 2022, and describes a broader installation sequence—not a substitute for the instructions supplied with a specific handle or cabinet. For a hardware-only refresh, follow the model’s assembly directions and confirm the cabinet surface and hardware are compatible before fastening.
