Unilock’s Elegance is a concrete paver collection designed to reproduce the visual character of aged brick, European cobbles, and natural flagstone. It offers four named families—Copthorne, Courtstone, Richcliff, and Town Hall—with different unit forms and design references.
The collection’s headline performance statement is Unilock’s claim of “up to 4x the strength of poured-in-place concrete.” That is a manufacturer comparison, not an independently verified lifecycle result. Elegance also uses Unilock’s EasyClean integral stain-resistance treatment, which is intended to make surfaces easier to clean rather than permanently stain-proof. Elegance is a named Unilock collection of concrete pavers. Its design goal is an authentic-looking surface: deep colors, irregular textures, and patterns modeled on actual stone and brick surfaces. Unilock says it uses multiple molds to create randomized surface patterns instead of a visibly repetitive grid.

These are manufactured concrete pavers, not pieces of reclaimed European brick or quarried natural stone. Unilock’s Elegance technology page states: “We use a mix of specialized aggregates and color pigments in each Elegance paver.” The aggregate-and-pigment formulation is part of how the collection creates its color depth and visual variation.

Building Design + Construction’s September 13, 2023 listing summarized the collection in similar terms, highlighting timeworn European brick and cobblestone looks alongside stone-inspired luxury. Current product names and specifications should be checked against Unilock’s regional catalog because sizes, colors, and availability can change.
The four Elegance product families
Unilock’s current Elegance archive identifies four product families. They are differentiated primarily by visual reference, unit format, and stated design use—not by a published ranking of durability.

The archive does not establish that one of these families is categorically stronger, longer-lasting, or more stain resistant than the others. Select by the visual reference and unit format first, then confirm the engineering and application details for the exact product in your region.
How durable are Elegance pavers?
Unilock’s headline statement is that Elegance pavers provide “up to 4x the strength of poured-in-place concrete.” The comparison is attributable to Unilock and includes the important qualifier “up to.” It does not mean every Elegance unit is four times stronger than every other paver, that a paved surface will last four times longer, or that the material is indestructible.

No independent comparative study, service-life figure, lifecycle analysis, or independently published durability statistic was identified for the collection. The four-times figure should therefore be read as a manufacturer performance claim. Ask for the test method, product-specific strength data, and installation requirements if a project has unusual loading, freeze-thaw exposure, or commercial traffic.
Actual pavement performance also depends on factors outside the paver itself: the designed base, subgrade, drainage, joint treatment, edge restraint, traffic loads, and installation quality. A strong unit can still move or settle if water is trapped beneath it or the supporting layers are poorly built. For a driveway or other vehicle area, have the installer confirm that the selected product and pavement section are appropriate for the expected vehicles.
What EasyClean and factory sealing do—and do not—promise
Unilock describes Elegance as having EasyClean integral stain resistance and refers to a factory-sealed coating. In practical terms, the manufacturer presents the surface as more resistant to staining and easier to clean than an untreated surface.

That language is not the same as stain-proof or maintenance-free. Oil, rust, leaf tannins, food, algae, and other contaminants can still mark a hardscape if they remain on the surface. Cleaning products and methods should follow the current Unilock care guidance for the specific paver. Do not assume that an additional sealer is necessary, compatible, or covered by the product system without checking the manufacturer’s instructions.

Copthorne: dimensions, colors, and applications
Small units for borders and curves
Copthorne is the most compact, street-paver-inspired option in the named collection. Unilock lists a standard unit size of 65 × 200 × 60 mm, equivalent to 2 5/8 × 7 7/8 × 2 3/8 inches. Its small dimensions can follow curves and create narrow accent bands. Unilock says many curved walkways, borders, and accents can be laid without cutting the individual units, although the layout and perimeter conditions still determine whether cuts are needed.
Listed colors
The Copthorne page lists Burgundy Red, Burnt Clay, Basalt, Old Oak, Steel Blue, Arctic Grey, and color blends. Names alone cannot predict the appearance of a completed installation: blended colors, lighting, wetness, surrounding materials, and lot variation all affect the result. View a current physical sample before approving a color, and confirm that the selected blend is stocked in your region.
Stated uses
Unilock lists Copthorne for patios and walkways, borders and accents, and driveways. A driveway listing means the product is presented for that application; it is not a substitute for checking the project’s base design, edge restraint, drainage, and expected vehicle loading. A residential parking pad and a frequently used delivery lane should not automatically receive the same pavement design.

Driveways and vehicle areas
Start with the traffic question: passenger cars only, occasional service vehicles, or regular heavier loads? Copthorne is the family for which Unilock explicitly lists driveways, but the correct specification still requires a site-appropriate base and installation plan. Confirm the regional technical sheet and ask the contractor how the pattern, joints, edge restraints, and drainage will be handled.

Walkways and curved paths
Copthorne’s compact units are useful when a path includes tight radii, borders, or repeated accent bands. The small format can reduce the amount of visible cutting in a curved layout. Courtstone may be a better visual fit when the priority is a deliberately irregular European cobblestone impression rather than a narrow street-paver module.
Patios and entertaining areas
Richcliff’s random-bundle format suits a flagstone-like field with less obvious coursing. Copthorne can create a more architectural, brick-like pattern or frame a larger field. Choose the family that gives the desired joint rhythm and scale; do not choose solely from a color name.
Historic or civic character
Town Hall is described as recalling North American clay street pavers. It can support a historic streetscape theme while remaining a manufactured concrete product. Courtstone instead references European cobblestones, so the two families can produce distinctly different “old street” impressions even when their colors are similar.
A practical selection process
- Define the visual reference. Decide whether the project should read as European cobble, clay street paver, flagstone, or small-format brick. This narrows the family before color decisions begin.
- Classify the use. Record whether the surface is a walkway, patio, border, driveway, or mixed-use area. Note vehicle types, turning movements, slopes, and any access by service vehicles.
- Check the local catalog. Product names, dimensions, color blends, and stock can vary by market. Confirm the current regional listing with an authorized dealer or Unilock’s local site.
- Review a physical sample. Compare samples outdoors, in both sun and shade, beside the house exterior, masonry, roof, and proposed edging. Treat online color images as preliminary only.
- Confirm the installation design. Ask the contractor to document the base, drainage, edge restraint, joint material, pattern, and any areas that require cuts. The paver’s claimed strength cannot compensate for an unsuitable pavement structure.
- Get the product identified in writing. The estimate should name the family, color or blend, unit size where applicable, pattern, and the area in which each product will be installed. This prevents a border product from being substituted for a field product without your approval.
Color, pattern, and sample decisions
Elegance’s visual appeal comes partly from variation. Multiple molds and pigmented aggregates are intended to avoid a perfectly uniform surface, but variation also means a small sample cannot show every possible combination of tones. Ask to see several units or a larger display when the color is heavily blended.

Use the sample to judge more than color. Check the apparent texture, edge profile, scale of the unit, and the contrast between the paver and proposed joint material. A dark blend can make joints and surface texture less visible; a lighter blend may show organic debris more readily. Those are design and maintenance considerations, not evidence that one color is inherently stronger.
Maintenance and stain response
EasyClean is intended to simplify routine care, but the surface still benefits from ordinary attention. Remove leaves and dirt before they remain wet against the pavers, and deal with spills promptly. For washing, spot treatment, or pressure equipment, use the current Unilock instructions for the selected product and follow any cleaner manufacturer’s safety directions.
Avoid applying a new sealer, acidic cleaner, or aggressive pressure setting simply because the surface looks dull. An incompatible treatment can change the appearance or affect the factory-applied finish. If a stain is persistent, photograph it, identify the substance if possible, and ask the installer or Unilock for a product-specific remedy before escalating the treatment.
What to verify before ordering
- The exact family and regional product name.
- Current dimensions and color availability.
- Whether the selected unit is listed for the intended application.
- The project’s traffic category and pavement-section design.
- Drainage, slope, edge restraint, and joint details.
- Sample approval under the project’s actual lighting conditions.
- Current care instructions, including whether any additional sealer is recommended.
- Availability of replacement units if a future repair is needed.
How to interpret the collection’s marketing claims
“Up to 4x the strength of poured-in-place concrete” is a bounded comparison made by Unilock. It is useful as an indication of the manufacturer’s positioning, but it is not a universal ranking or a guaranteed service life. “EasyClean” and “integral stain resistance” indicate a stain-resistance treatment, not immunity from every contaminant. “Authentic” and references to stone or brick describe the design inspiration, not the material composition.
Those distinctions let you compare products honestly: use the collection for its available formats and visual language, request technical information for demanding applications, and base the final specification on the exact regional product and installation plan.
Availability and source dates
The Elegance archive and product pages checked on October 13, 2026 are the best references for the current family names and descriptions, while the Building Design + Construction listing is dated September 13, 2023.
