The sources do not establish that all Toasty Heater listings refer to one consistent product. One offer page describes a 450-watt wall-plug heater with thermostat and timer controls. A separate branded retail page also lists 450 watts and a ceramic heating element. Those details should not be merged into a single specification sheet unless the seller confirms they describe the exact item being sold. - Check certification for the exact model. If a listing displays a UL, ETL, or other testing mark, verify it in the certifier’s records rather than relying on a logo or seller statement. In a February 2024 preliminary assessment, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported examples of portable heaters marketed online with counterfeit certification marks or testing-lab logos. - Read the seller’s terms before paying. Confirm the return window, shipping terms, and any return-shipping or restocking charges. The available sources do not establish current terms for every Toasty Heater sales page.
- Check recalls by exact brand and model. Use current recall information before use. A recall notice for a different heater does not show that a Toasty Heater is recalled—or that it is safe.
Use any portable heater with fire safety in mind
The CPSC estimates that portable heaters, including electric space heaters, were involved in an average of 1,600 fires per year, with an average of 70 deaths and 150 injuries annually from 2020 through 2022. - Plug an electric space heater directly into a wall outlet—not an extension cord or power strip.
