It is best understood as a lightweight pocket tool for small, occasional tasks—not a substitute for a full-size wrench when a job demands leverage or a specified torque.
What the TiSpanner 2.0 does
Titaner describes the TiSpanner 2.0 as an adjustable spanner with several secondary functions. The wrench is the central tool; the extras are intended to make the folded tool more useful for quick jobs where carrying a full toolbox would be inconvenient. The functions below are manufacturer-described rather than independently tested. Titaner’s product listing also describes magnetic alignment and a slot for tritium.

- Adjustable wrench: New Atlas reported a maximum opening of 36 mm and a depth of 10 mm in its May 2024 launch coverage. That opening figure is not stated in the current manufacturer product text. New Atlas
- Measurement: Titaner describes a caliper function for measuring outer diameter and thickness. New Atlas reported metric and imperial markings; its June 14, 2024 update said Titaner had told the publication that numerals would be added alongside the markings. Neither source establishes measurement precision through independent testing.
- Pulling and prying: Titaner lists nail-pulling and pry teeth. New Atlas also described a nail puller.
- Opening and scraping tasks: New Atlas reported a bottle opener, lid-popping function and nail file, and said the file could sharpen pocket-knife blades. Heinnie Haynes also lists bottle/jar opening and a nail file/sharpener. These descriptions are not independent performance tests. Heinnie Haynes
- Phone stand: Titaner and New Atlas describe a stand function for propping up a phone.
- Tungsten head: Titaner describes the tungsten head for opening packages and emergency window breaking; New Atlas described a tungsten window-breaking stud. Those are maker-described uses, not verified emergency-performance claims.
- Carry and retention: New Atlas and Heinnie Haynes list a keyring or zipper hole, while Titaner describes magnetic alignment. Heinnie Haynes lists magnetic closure.
Size, weight and materials
Figures vary by source, so it is useful to keep each measurement attached to its source rather than treating every listing as equivalent. New Atlas reported the closed dimensions and wrench opening at launch; Titaner’s current listing provides material-specific weights. Heinnie Haynes gives a conflicting weight, so its number should not be blended with the maker’s or New Atlas’s figures.
| Detail | What the sources report |
|---|---|
| Closed dimensions | 57 × 20 × 6 mm, reported by New Atlas on May 31, 2024; launch-era reporting, not a current independent measurement. |
| Titanium-alloy weight | 18 g, listed by Titaner; New Atlas also reported 18 g in 2024. |
| 304 stainless-steel weight | 24.9 g, listed by Titaner; New Atlas reported 25 g in 2024. |
| Retailer-listed weight | 15 g, listed by Heinnie Haynes; this conflicts with Titaner and New Atlas. |
| Materials and finishes | Titaner lists titanium alloy and 304 stainless steel, each with sandblasted and polished finish options. The maker says the steel model’s knobs and screws are titanium alloy. |
The difference between the two maker-listed weights is small in absolute terms but may matter to someone choosing a keychain or pocket tool. Choose by material and finish preference as well as weight: the product listing does not establish a performance advantage for either version.

Can it replace a full-size wrench?
No published load rating or independent torque test is established by the available product coverage. Although New Atlas reported a 36 mm maximum opening, jaw opening alone does not tell you how much force the tool can safely handle. For construction work involving tight fasteners, substantial leverage, specified torque, or a risk of damaging hardware, use a properly sized wrench with a known rating. The TiSpanner is more appropriately treated as a compact option for light, occasional adjustments.
Choosing a version and checking the price
Titaner’s product page currently displays a price of $89 and offers selectable variants; confirm the selected material and finish and the price shown for that configuration before ordering. Price and availability can change. The $38 steel and $53 titanium pledge amounts reported by New Atlas were Kickstarter figures from the 2024 campaign, not current prices.
