These prices should be treated as historical claims, not live offers. As of August 16, 2026, the source roundup does not establish the exact retailer, model configuration, condition, warranty, or expiration for any of the three deals. Check the checkout page before paying; an indexed deal page can outlive its inventory.
The iPad 9 is discontinued, the TP-Link model number is missing, and the Narwal discount could not be independently verified. The buying advice below explains what each price would mean if you find matching stock and what to reject when the terms do not match.

Deal 1: iPad 9 at $199
Why the price looks attractive
The ninth-generation iPad has a 10.2-inch Retina display, an A13 Bionic chip, Touch ID, a headphone jack, a Lightning connector, Wi‑Fi 5 and support for the first-generation Apple Pencil. Apple offered 64GB and 256GB capacities, with the 64GB Wi‑Fi model the most plausible explanation for a $199 headline price. Apple’s launch price began at $329 in the United States, but that is historical pricing, not a current MSRP.

Apple’s technical specifications are documented at Apple’s iPad (9th generation) specification page. The model uses Wi‑Fi 5 rather than Wi‑Fi 6 or Wi‑Fi 7.
Why $199 needs extra scrutiny in 2026
Apple discontinued the iPad 9 on May 7, 2024, replacing it in the entry-level line with newer hardware and USB‑C. Remaining $199 units are therefore likely old inventory, refurbished or renewed stock, open-box inventory, or marketplace listings. A listing that says “new” should identify the actual seller and state whether Apple’s original one-year limited warranty applies; a third-party refurbisher’s warranty is not the same thing.
Inspect the battery and activation-lock status on used units, confirm that a charger is included, and verify the return window. A low sticker price can disappear after shipping, sales tax, a missing accessory or a short third-party warranty.

Is 64GB enough?
For web browsing, streaming, reading, video calls and light note-taking, 64GB can work if most content stays in the cloud. It is a poor fit for large games, offline video, extensive photo libraries or school files. Storage cannot be expanded later, so compare the exact capacity rather than accepting a “from $199” price.
Who should buy it—and who should skip it
- Reasonable use: a verified, clean unit for basic household use when the price is well below a current model.
- Skip it: if you need USB‑C, newer cameras, more storage, newer multitasking features or the longest likely software-support runway.
- Accessory warning: Lightning cables and first-generation Apple Pencil accessories remain necessary.
Do not assume Apple Intelligence or every current iPadOS feature works on the A13 model. Check Apple’s current compatibility requirements before purchase.
Compare with the current base iPad
Apple’s current store has shown different entry prices for different configurations: one captured result listed a base iPad from $349, while a separate 128GB Wi‑Fi configuration page showed $449. Confirm the model, storage and final checkout price at Apple’s iPad store or compare with Apple Certified Refurbished iPad inventory. If the gap between a verified iPad 9 and a newer USB‑C iPad is small, the newer model is generally the safer long-term purchase.

Deal 2: TP-Link Wi‑Fi 7 router at $99
The model number is the deal
“TP-Link Wi‑Fi 7 router” is not specific enough to evaluate. The Archer BE230, BE3600, BE550, BE800 and BE9300 differ in radio bands, 6GHz availability, channel width, Ethernet ports and mesh capabilities. A $99 listing must show the exact model and regional hardware revision before it can be compared with another router.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFor scale, TP-Link’s Archer BE9300 product page describes a tri-band Wi‑Fi 7 router with a claimed aggregate wireless rate of 9.2Gbps, Multi-Link Operation (MLO), EasyMesh compatibility, a 2.5Gbps WAN port, a 2.5Gbps LAN port, three 1Gbps LAN ports and USB 3.0. Those are manufacturer specifications, not the speed one client is guaranteed to receive.
Questions to answer before checkout
- Record the model number, hardware revision and whether the listing is for a standalone router or a mesh node.
- Confirm whether it has 6GHz and 320MHz channels; some Wi‑Fi 7 products are dual-band while others are tri-band.
- Check whether the device is new, renewed, open-box or marketplace stock, and identify the seller and warranty provider.
- Calculate the complete price, including shipping, tax, coupon or membership requirements.
- Check the return period and whether desired security controls require a paid HomeShield subscription.
When Wi‑Fi 7 makes a real difference
- Good fit: homes with Wi‑Fi 7 phones, laptops or PCs; many simultaneous clients; multi-gigabit internet; or fast local-network transfers.
- Limited benefit: homes made up mostly of Wi‑Fi 5 and Wi‑Fi 6 devices, or internet plans below roughly 500Mbps where coverage and placement are the bottleneck.
- Wrong shape: large or multistory homes that need several well-placed mesh nodes rather than one central router.
Walls, interference, channel availability and each client’s antenna configuration often matter more than the headline number. A 2.5Gbps port helps only when the modem, service plan, switch and client support comparable speeds. TP-Link describes EasyMesh and ISP compatibility on the product page, but service-specific authentication and modem requirements still need checking.

Deal 3: Narwal Freo X Ultra advertised at $400 off
The discount is unverified
The available evidence does not establish the retailer, SKU, list price, sale price, condition or warranty for this Narwal offer. “$400 off” could be measured against MSRP, a recent selling price or a temporary reference price. Until the product page shows both prices and the seller, treat the claim as historical.
What to verify on the product page
- Exact Freo X Ultra model, color and availability.
- Whether the seller is Narwal, a major retailer or a third-party marketplace merchant.
- Warranty length, service contact and return shipping terms.
- Dock contents, water tanks, dust bags, detergent, mop pads and brushes.
- Availability and price of replacement consumables.
- Final delivered price after tax, shipping and any coupon.
Set realistic expectations
A premium robot vacuum-and-mop can reduce routine work, but a dock does not make ownership maintenance-free. You still need to clean the dock, empty or refill tanks where required, clear jams, wash or replace pads, and inspect brushes. Mopping can struggle with dried or sticky stains, and cable or small-object avoidance is never a guarantee. Thresholds, dark or reflective surfaces, shag rugs, pet hair and unusual room layouts can affect navigation and cleaning.
Before paying a premium for an older flagship, decide whether your home is mostly hard flooring, includes thick carpet or has pets that shed heavily. Also consider what happens if the dock, water-handling system or navigation hardware fails and whether parts remain easy to obtain. The size of a discount alone does not prove better real-world value.
How to verify any of these listings
- Open the retailer’s product page rather than relying on a search snippet or archived roundup.
- Match the model number, storage or configuration and color to the advertised item.
- Record condition, seller, warranty, return window, shipping charge, tax and delivery date.
- Check stock status and regional restrictions at checkout.
- Save a screenshot or receipt showing the final price and terms.
- Walk away if the page changes models, redirects to an unknown marketplace seller or hides the discount behind an unexplained subscription.
Which purchase makes the most sense?
| Buyer situation | Most sensible direction |
|---|---|
| Needs the cheapest tablet for basic tasks | A $199 iPad 9 can work only when condition, battery, warranty and 64GB limitations are acceptable. |
| Needs USB‑C, newer hardware or longer platform longevity | Compare the current base iPad or Apple-certified refurbished stock before choosing discontinued inventory. |
| Has Wi‑Fi 7 clients or multi-gigabit networking | Buy the exact TP-Link model only after confirming bands, ports, seller and subscription terms. |
| Has a large home or weak coverage | Price a suitable mesh system instead of assuming a single router solves every dead zone. |
| Wants a robot vacuum with dependable support | Compare the Freo X Ultra’s verified delivered price, warranty and consumables with current alternatives; do not rely on “$400 off” alone. |
The Bottom Line
The iPad 9 at $199 is the only offer with a clear product history, but it is discontinued and likely to be clearance, refurbished or marketplace stock. The TP-Link price cannot be judged without a model number, and the Narwal discount is not verified. Treat all three as leads to investigate—not live bargains—until a retailer checkout confirms the exact item, condition and terms.
