The real Albuquerque house used as Walter White’s home in Breaking Bad sold for a reported $1.3 million on February 25, 2026. That was far above its February relisting price of $400,000, but the home is no longer for sale. Its price history reflects two different approaches: an earlier, nearly $4 million asking price built around the property’s fame, followed by a conventional residential listing that attracted about 20 offers.
How much did the Breaking Bad house sell for?
Albuquerque Business First reported that the house at 3828 Piermont Drive NE closed for $1.3 million on February 25, 2026. That is the reported sale price—not the asking price—and it is more than three times the $400,000 price at which the property was relisted earlier that month. Albuquerque Business First reported the closing.
The gap between those figures does not establish an independently appraised value. The Albuquerque Journal reported roughly 20 offers and a bidding war after the relisting, helping explain how the final reported price rose above the initial ask. The Journal’s account of the relisting and offers.
Why did the price draw different reactions?
The debate was partly about what a buyer was paying for: a house in a residential neighborhood, a well-known television location, or the possibility of drawing visitors. The family first listed the property for nearly $4 million in January 2025, a seller’s asking price premised on its show notoriety and possible tourist appeal. The listing did not produce serious interest over more than a year, according to the Albuquerque Journal’s 2026 coverage.

For context, The Guardian reported a 2025 Zillow neighborhood median of $421,000. That is a neighborhood comparison, not an appraisal of this particular home or a direct measure of its entertainment value. The later $400,000 relisting represented a different pricing strategy: listing agent Alicia Feil favored marketing it as a residence rather than as a commercial attraction. She told the Journal, “It’s a residential neighborhood; you can’t just plop a large commercial business into a residential neighborhood.”
The eventual $1.3 million reported close shows that buyers competed at that moment; it does not, by itself, settle whether the property was worth the price to a typical homebuyer. The figures refer to separate events—the original asking price, the later list price, and the reported closing—not successive appraisals. Why did the family sell?
The property had been the family’s home for decades. The parents bought it in 1973, and family members lived there for more than 50 years. A scout approached them about filming the pilot in 2006; the series later aired from 2008 to 2013, with the home’s exterior and backyard associated with Walter White’s fictional house.
After the parents died and the adult children moved on, the family described the attention around the famous location as a burden. Family members reported visitors, attempts to throw pizzas onto the roof, and people seeking access to the yard or pool. They added fencing and security. Joanne Quintana told local television, as reported by the AP, that hundreds of cars passed the house on some days; The Guardian reported her estimate of an average 300 cars per day. Those are attributed accounts, not independently counted traffic figures.

Family member Eric Padilla described ordinary childhood and family memories of the property in the Journal’s coverage. That contrast matters: the home was a real family residence before it became a recognizable television location, and its public association did not erase the practical effects of visitors on the people who lived there.
Is the house still for sale, and who bought it?
No. The house sold in February 2026, according to Albuquerque Business First. The final sale report establishes the reported price and closing date, but the available reporting does not independently establish the buyer’s identity or future plans. During the contract stage, the Journal reported that Feil could not confirm online personality Adin Ross as the buyer, despite his public claim.

What might happen to the property next?
A private residence, a themed rental, and a museum or tourist attraction were discussed as possible uses, not confirmed plans. Each would raise different practical questions:
- Private residence: A buyer can value the home primarily as a place to live, while managing the public attention that comes with its recognizable exterior.
- Themed rental: Feil suggested a rental could work. Its viability would depend on the buyer’s operating plans and any applicable local rules.
- Museum or attraction: Feil questioned whether a large commercial operation would fit a residential neighborhood. Any such use would depend on permitted uses and requirements, not just the property’s fame.
The reporting does not establish which use the buyer intends. In particular, the sale price and the home’s television history are not evidence that a museum, rental business, or visitor attraction has been approved or will open.
