Recent reporting puts a Neymar penthouse in Dubai at a reported €50 million and the Beckhams’ completed Miami Beach purchase at $72.3 million. Those figures are not directly comparable: one is a newspaper-reported value in euros, the other a reported transaction in dollars. The examples below separate completed home purchases from estimates, land and other property claims, rather than presenting them as a definitive global ranking.

Why there is no reliable global ranking

Published figures for footballers’ homes mix different currencies, reporting dates and kinds of evidence. A reported sale price records a transaction; an estimate may not reflect a sale; and a purchase of land is not the price of a completed house. Rentals and former residences raise a separate question: whether the player owns or still occupies the property.

No consistently defined published series ranks footballers’ currently owned homes. The examples here are notable reported figures, not a verified league table. Prices are left in the currencies reported; no currency conversion is used.

Recent reported home purchases and values

Footballer or owners Property and location Reported figure What the figure represents
Neymar Bugatti Residence Sky Mansion penthouse, Dubai €50 million, reported November 2024 Corriere della Sera reported that Neymar bought a penthouse and described this as its value. It is a newspaper-reported purchase and value, not a deed or official developer disclosure. The reported features include a car elevator, indoor pool and artificial beach. Corriere della Sera, 20 December 2024.
David and Victoria Beckham Waterfront mansion, North Bay Road, Miami Beach $72.3 million, purchase reported in 2024 The Real Deal described this as a completed purchase, not an asking price. Its 19 July 2026 article reports the transaction. The Real Deal, 19 July 2026.
Lionel Messi and Antonela Roccuzzo Waterfront mansion, Fort Lauderdale $10.8 million, purchase reported September 2023 The Real Deal reported the completed purchase. Its 2026 article also mentions Messi’s Sunny Isles Beach condos and a contract for four units at the under-construction Cipriani Residences; those are separate properties and are not the price of this mansion. The Real Deal, 19 July 2026.

Property claims that are not completed-home prices

Neymar’s Bal Harbour land purchase

The Real Deal reported that Neymar paid $26 million for waterfront residential land in Bal Harbour in 2024, with a new single-family home planned. The $26 million is the reported land purchase price; it is not the price of a completed mansion. The Real Deal, 19 July 2026.

Portfolio estimates and uncertain ownership

A December 2022 JamesEdition feature estimated Cristiano Ronaldo’s property portfolio at $52.4 million and Lionel Messi’s at $28 million. These are estimates for multiple properties, not valuations of individual homes or verified current totals. The feature put Messi’s Castelldefels property at around $7 million at the time and said it was unclear whether he kept it after changing clubs. Its descriptions of Ronaldo’s properties and projects across several countries are also historical, not confirmation of present ownership. JamesEdition, 14 December 2022.

Corriere della Sera’s December 2024 Messi feature describes a Fort Lauderdale home at €10 million, along with Barcelona-area and Rosario residences, six homes in Italy and rentals in Paris. That account illustrates why a property list needs to distinguish ownership, rental status and former homes; its euro figure should not be treated as the same kind of evidence as The Real Deal’s reported $10.8 million transaction. Corriere della Sera, 20 December 2024.

How to read the headline figures

  • Completed purchase: The Real Deal’s Beckham and Messi figures are reported home transactions, though they are in different years and currencies.
  • Reported value: Corriere della Sera’s Neymar figure is a newspaper-reported value for a purchased Dubai penthouse, not an official valuation disclosed by the developer.
  • Land: Neymar’s Bal Harbour figure is for a plot intended for a planned home, not a finished residence.
  • Portfolio estimate: The Ronaldo and Messi totals aggregate properties and come from 2022; they are not current home-by-home appraisals.
  • Amenities: A car elevator, pools, waterfront locations and private recreational features help explain the attention these properties attract, but do not independently establish market value.

For a genuinely comparable ranking, each property would need a consistent valuation basis, a clear reporting date and current evidence of ownership across jurisdictions. The figures published so far do not provide that uniform basis.
