Amazon’s 2026 Big Spring Sale ran from March 25 through March 31, 2026, so the old headline should not be treated as proof of a live August 2026 discount.
If you find the exact Blink Mini 2 listing at about $20, it can be a good low-cost plug-in camera for an entryway, workshop, garage, office, or temporary construction-site monitoring position. Check the model, seller, included accessories, and final checkout price before buying.

Where the $20 claim came from
The historical deal came from an Engadget report published and updated March 28, 2025. It described the single-camera Blink Mini 2 at $20, compared with a stated regular price of $39.99. The same coverage reported a two-pack at $38, or $19 per camera.
That was a 2025 promotion—not a permanent price. Deal pages, old search snippets, and cached retailer listings cannot confirm what Amazon is charging now. The 2026 Amazon Big Spring Sale ended on March 31, 2026, and the available evidence does not verify that the $20 price continued afterward.

What the Blink Mini 2 does
The Mini 2 is a compact, plug-in smart security camera. According to Blink’s specifications, it provides:
- 1080p HD video
- Motion detection
- Two-way audio
- Color night view with a built-in spotlight
- A wider field of view than the previous Blink Mini
- Alexa compatibility
- Person Detection when used with a Blink subscription
- USB-C power
For a construction-related use, that makes it suitable for basic visual checks of an indoor work area, tool room, office, entrance, or other location with reliable power and Wi-Fi. It is not a substitute for a professionally installed security system, and its plug-in design means it will not keep recording during a power outage without suitable backup power.
It is not a battery camera
The Mini 2 must remain connected to power. Blink lists a 2-meter (6.5-foot) USB-C cable in the package, but the camera does not operate as a cordless battery unit.
That is an advantage for a fixed location because there are no batteries to replace. It is a disadvantage when an outlet is unavailable, when cables cannot be safely routed, or when a camera needs to be moved frequently around a changing job site.
Outdoor use requires extra equipment
The camera itself has an IP65 rating and can be used outdoors, but Blink says outdoor installation requires its separate Weather Resistant Power Adapter. A $20 camera-only listing should not be assumed to include that adapter.

Blink lists an operating range of −5°F to 113°F (−20°C to 45°C). Outdoor placement also requires a suitable mounting position, safe cable routing, and protected access to power. The spotlight enables color night viewing, but results depend on available light, placement, and the scene; it should not automatically be treated as equivalent to a dedicated outdoor floodlight camera.

The camera can operate without a subscription, but that does not mean every feature is included at no extra cost.
- Person Detection requires a Blink subscription.
- Cloud video storage is provided through Blink’s subscription plans.
- Local storage requires a Sync Module 2 and compatible USB storage.
- The Sync Module 2 and USB drive are separate from a basic single-camera purchase.
Blink’s launch material listed U.S. subscription pricing starting at $3 per month or $30 per year. Treat that as a dated launch reference and check Blink’s current terms, pricing, and any trial conditions before purchasing.
The practical lesson is simple: the $20 camera price is only the starting cost if you need outdoor power hardware, retained recordings, advanced detection, or additional mounting equipment.

Coverage from Digital Camera World and spring-sale deal coverage discussed the Mini 2K+, while other listings discussed the original Mini. Always verify the exact product title, resolution, product image, and ASIN.
When the Mini 2 is worth buying
Buy it at about $20 if the live listing is genuinely for the Mini 2 and you want an inexpensive, fixed camera for an indoor room or other powered location. It is especially reasonable if you already use Alexa or Blink and accept the limits of cloud storage and subscription-dependent features.
Reconsider it if you need:
- Battery operation or continued recording during a power outage
- Outdoor use without buying the weather-resistant adapter
- Resolution higher than 1080p
- Person Detection and cloud history without recurring fees
- Fully local recording with no additional hub or USB storage
- A system independent of cloud accounts and internet connectivity
For some buyers, a Mini 2K+ priced only a few dollars higher may offer better value because of its higher resolution. For others, the original Mini may be adequate if the lowest possible upfront price matters more than the Mini 2’s spotlight, wider view, or outdoor capability.
What to check before placing the order
- Confirm the listing says Blink Mini 2, not Blink Mini or Blink Mini 2K+.
- Check the live price on the product page and again at checkout.
- Review the seller and fulfillment details; an Amazon search result may include third-party listings.
- Confirm whether the package is camera-only or includes the outdoor weather-resistant adapter.
- Check current subscription pricing and which features require a plan.
- If you want local recording, price the Sync Module 2 and compatible USB storage separately.
- Make sure the installation point has safe access to power and reliable Wi-Fi.
Bottom line on the headline: $20 was a genuine historical price for the Blink Mini 2 during the 2025 Spring Sale. It should not be described as an active 2026 Amazon Spring Sale deal unless the exact live listing is independently checked and shows that price.
