The strongest dated pick in the available 2021 coverage is the Lights4fun Reindeer & Sleigh Acrylic Christmas Figure: a battery-powered, 240-LED display with a built-in timer. Its lightweight construction makes secure anchoring especially important outdoors. The recommendation comes from an editorial roundup, not an independent laboratory test.
Which outdoor reindeer decoration was the 2021 pick?
A 2021 UK roundup of outdoor Christmas decorations named the Lights4fun Reindeer & Sleigh Acrylic Christmas Figure as its first pick. The article described a battery-powered display with 240 bright-white LEDs, a timer and included pegs. It also cautioned that the lightweight pieces could be blown over in strong winds and advised adding tent pegs if needed. The roundup was reader-supported, so its recommendation should be read as editorial guidance rather than a controlled comparison.
The roundup gave each reindeer’s dimensions as 68 cm tall, 41 cm long and 35 cm wide, and the sleigh’s as 35 × 51 × 29 cm. It reported three metres of clear cable and a timer that runs for six hours, then switches off for eighteen. These are details reported by that 2021 article; they should not be assumed to describe every later version.
How to choose a display for your outdoor space
Match the format to the viewing distance
Acrylic figures offer a defined sculptural shape that can be seen during the day as well as when illuminated. Wire-frame displays emphasize the lights and can be easier to read from a distance. Multi-piece families occupy more ground and create a broader scene. Measure the installation area and consider the sightline from the street before choosing a set.

Current listings illustrate how formats differ, but they do not establish what was on sale in 2021. Lights4fun currently lists a Swinsty LED Light Up Reindeer & Sleigh with two 70 cm reindeer, a 31 cm sleigh and a one-metre gap between the figures. Best Choice Products currently describes a two-piece wire-frame display made with polyester. Costway lists a three-piece metal-and-fabric set, while HOYECHI’s current collection shows several reindeer-family and sleigh styles. These are present-day examples, not historical availability evidence.
Compare lighting and power details
LED counts are specifications, not a direct measure of brightness or overall quality. The 2021 roundup reports 240 bright-white LEDs for its featured Lights4fun display. Current product pages give different figures: 205 LEDs for Best Choice Products, 280 warm-white LED beads for Costway, and 230 warm-white lights for a Northlight three-piece family listed by Target. Color descriptions, layout and distance from viewers can matter as much as the total count.

Check whether the decoration uses batteries or needs an outdoor power connection, and whether a timer is included. The 2021 Lights4fun roundup describes a battery box and a six-hours-on/eighteen-hours-off cycle. The current Swinsty listing describes 240 warm-white LEDs, but the cited page does not establish that its timer or power arrangement matches the 2021 figure.
Check anchoring, assembly and storage
Wind exposure is a practical concern for lightweight outdoor figures. The 2021 roundup specifically warned that its acrylic set could blow over and recommended secure anchoring. The current Swinsty listing includes 12 ground hooks. Other current listings describe stakes and zip ties: Best Choice Products lists both, and Target lists stakes and cable ties for its Northlight family. Included hardware differs by product; inspect the listing and plan for the ground surface where the display will stand.

What the historical recommendation does—and does not—show
The 2021 roundup supports naming the Lights4fun acrylic reindeer-and-sleigh as a dated editorial pick and describing the specifications that article reported. A current Lights4fun product page also says its Swinsty set was voted 10/10 by The Independent as the best overall outdoor Christmas light for 2021. That award attribution is a claim on the product page; the original Independent review was not independently located, and the current listing should not be treated as proof that every specification or detail is identical to the 2021 roundup’s model.

For a larger scene, compare the dimensions and number of pieces, light color, power arrangement, included anchors and storage requirements of the exact model available to you.
