Status: Historical deal, not a live offer. Android Headlines reported on December 2, 2024, that the 48-inch LG B4 OLED 4K TV (model OLED48B4PUA) was $200 off at Best Buy for Cyber Monday. That promotion has ended. LG’s U.S. page showed the B4 at $799.99 when checked August 18, 2026, but prices and availability can change.
What the Cyber Monday deal actually was
The headline referred to LG’s 48-inch Class B4 Series OLED television, model OLED48B4PUA. Android Headlines published the deal on December 2, 2024, describing a $200 Cyber Monday reduction and directing shoppers to Best Buy. The article did not show the exact before-and-after checkout prices, so a commonly inferred $599.99 sale price should not be treated as verified.

What you get with the 48-inch LG B4
The B4 is an entry-level, value-focused OLED in LG’s 2024-era lineup rather than a premium C- or G-series set. Its 48-inch size is useful where a 55-inch television would overwhelm a bedroom, apartment, child’s room or gaming area.

- Display: 4K UHD OLED with more than 8 million self-lit pixels.
- Motion and gaming: 120Hz refresh rate and NVIDIA G-Sync support. Reaching 4K at 120Hz still requires compatible hardware, game settings, cable and content.
- HDR and sound formats: Dolby Vision, HDR10 support, Dolby Atmos and Filmmaker Mode.
- Smart platform: webOS 24 with LG Channels. Channel counts, apps and service availability can change by region and provider; many streaming services require separate subscriptions.
- Software support: LG describes up to five years of updates through its Re:New program, subject to its conditions. That does not guarantee identical features throughout the period.
OLED pixels can switch off individually, producing very deep blacks and strong contrast in films and games, especially in controlled lighting. Those are general OLED characteristics, not independent measurements of this particular television.

Why the 48-inch format can make sense
Small-room viewing
A 48-inch screen offers a genuine television experience without the footprint of today’s common 55-inch-and-larger sets. Measure the wall, stand and viewing distance before buying: “compact” for a living room can still be oversized on a shallow desk.
Console and PC gaming
The 120Hz panel and G-Sync support suit compatible consoles and gaming PCs. Check that the graphics hardware, HDMI connection, cable and game support the desired resolution and frame rate; the specification alone does not make every game run at 4K/120Hz.
Desk-adjacent use
The B4 can serve as a large gaming display, but it is not automatically an ideal monitor. Desk depth, text scaling, viewing distance and ergonomics matter. Repeated static desktop elements also make OLED-use precautions more important.
Important trade-offs before buying an older OLED
Brightness varies by content
OLED brightness depends on picture mode, content, window size and room lighting. A darker room can showcase OLED contrast, while a bright room may favor an LCD or Mini-LED television with higher full-screen brightness.

Image retention and burn-in risk
OLED ownership generally calls for care when the same logos, news tickers, desktop windows or game HUDs remain on screen for long periods. This is a general technology consideration, not a claim that the B4 has a unique defect. If your primary use is a static dashboard or desktop, a non-OLED display may be the safer fit.
Condition matters more with clearance stock
By 2026, remaining B4 inventory may be clearance, open-box or refurbished. Confirm the panel’s condition, included accessories, return period, dead-pixel policy, shipping damage process and whether the manufacturer warranty applies. A large discount is less attractive if the seller offers no practical remedy.

LG’s B4 page now points shoppers to the B5, the newer B-series generation. The table compares only specifications identified on LG’s product pages; it does not establish that the B5 is universally better in picture quality.

Check LG’s official B5 page. LG’s B5 page displayed a 48-inch option but did not expose a numerical price in the retrieved page, so compare the actual checkout prices and seller terms rather than assuming a fixed difference.
When a remaining B4 is worth considering
- You specifically need a 48-inch OLED and find new, open-box or refurbished stock at a substantial discount to a comparable B5.
- The seller provides a clear return policy and a valid manufacturer or seller warranty.
- Your viewing is varied—films, television and games—rather than hours of unchanging static graphics.
- OLED contrast and 120Hz responsiveness matter more to you than maximum full-screen brightness.
When to choose the B5 or another display
- Choose the B5 when the price gap is modest and you prefer the newer processor, current-model availability and potentially more remaining support.
- Choose LCD, QLED or Mini-LED for a very bright room, frequent static content, lower burn-in concern or a priority on high full-screen brightness.
- Skip the B4 if its actual price approaches newer-model pricing without superior warranty or return terms.
How to verify a listing in 2026
- Confirm the listing says OLED48B4PUA; “LG B4” also refers to other screen sizes.
- Check whether the unit is new, open-box or refurbished and read the condition notes.
- Calculate the delivered total, including shipping and sales tax, rather than relying on a “$200 off” label.
- Review the return window, restocking fees, panel-defect policy and warranty coverage.
- Confirm the seller, delivery or pickup date and included stand, remote and cables.
- Compare that total with the current 48-inch B5 and with non-OLED alternatives before paying.
LG’s Find a Retailer path on its product pages is a useful starting point, but LG warns that retailer prices, menus, features and availability can vary by region and seller.
Verdict
The $200 reduction was a real claim attached to a December 2, 2024 Cyber Monday promotion for the 48-inch LG B4 OLED, but the promotion is over and its exact historical checkout price is not confirmed. In 2026, buy the B4 only when the actual listing is clearly cheaper than a newer B5, the 48-inch size fits your space, and the condition, return policy and warranty are satisfactory. Otherwise, the B5 or a brighter, non-OLED display is the more rational purchase.
