The company says order intake will be recorded in the Project Delivery segment’s backlog in Q3 2026. That is a backlog-recognition period, not a project completion date or a construction milestone. This October award is for HPCL’s LMBU project and its IHCD and SDA units at the Mumbai Refinery. It is distinct from a January 2026 Technip Energies announcement concerning Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), which covered different work at BPCL’s Bina and Mumbai refineries. The clients and project scopes are not interchangeable: the October contract is for HPCL, while the January awards were for BPCL. The January announcement describes the separate BPCL awards.

What the announcement says about the companies’ relationship
Loïc Chapuis, President Project Delivery and Services at Technip Energies, said the award “reflects the confidence placed in our EPC delivery capabilities and builds on a relationship between our two companies spanning more than two decades.” This is the contractor’s characterization of the relationship and its client’s confidence. Chapuis also said the company looks forward to delivering the units and integrating them with existing facilities.
