The report says the consultant behind the original design has been asked to review the issues and propose solutions. It does not confirm that construction has physically resumed, and its stated completion date is a target, not a confirmed schedule.
What has happened—and what has not been confirmed
Ratopati reported that a joint meeting took place at the Ministry of Infrastructure Development on Ashoj 7, 2083, with the contractor, consultant and Department of Roads Bridge Division in attendance. The ministry reportedly asked the consultant that prepared the original detailed project report (DPR) to examine the technical problems and recommend solutions. Ratopati’s October 3, 2026 report describes this as the start of a process to resolve the issues.

That is evidence of a technical review being initiated, not proof that workers or equipment have returned to the construction site. The report does not provide a detailed engineering diagnosis, identify a revised design, or document physical work restarting.
Where the bridge is
The bridge crosses the Tamor River at the Lambughat area, connecting Tehrathum and Panchthar districts. Romanized place names vary across reports, including Lambughat, Lubughat and Lumbuwaghat. The Department of Roads lists a Tamor Corridor project office at Mulghat, Dhankuta, but that office location does not mean the bridge is at Mulghat. A separate Department of Roads listing for a Tamor bridge at Yakchanaghat, Dhankuta, does not establish that it is this project. Why the project has been delayed
Ratopati says the contract agreement was signed on Ashadh 26, 2069, and characterizes the halt as about 15 years as of its October 2026 report. A December 2023 report by The Himalayan Times, citing Rastriya Samachar Samiti, said 12 years had passed since contract signing while the bridge remained incomplete. Those are descriptions published at different times, not one exact elapsed-time calculation. The Himalayan Times, December 2023.
The latest report attributes the main technical difficulty to the original DPR and design, but does not publish the underlying engineering findings or the proposed remedy. Until those details are made public, it is not possible to say what specifically must change or how much work that change will require.

What remains and when it may be finished
Ratopati identifies steel-truss installation as the main remaining work and reports completion by the end of 2083 as a target. The report does not establish that this is a binding, formally approved schedule. Nor does a target date confirm that the technical review is complete or that site work has resumed.

In its 2023 account, The Himalayan Times described Kummayak residents in Panchthar walking seven to eight hours weekly while carrying goods to the Friday market in Myanglung. It also cited a 116-kilometre route from Myanglung toward Dharan via Basantapur, Sidhuwa, Hile and Dhankuta. These dated examples illustrate the access burden reported at the time; they are not current travel-time guidance or a verification of present conditions. The Himalayan Times, December 2023.
