Swimply’s Perth listings showed prices from A$30 to A$65 per hour in a 2026 snapshot. What an owner actually receives depends on the booking-specific platform fee, and net income also depends on operating costs, safety requirements and insurance.
How Swimply works for Perth pool owners
Swimply is an hourly marketplace for private pools. Owners create a listing, provide information and photos, set house rules and availability, and choose a price. Guests book and pay through the platform; Swimply says hosts are paid after bookings. See Swimply’s Australian host information for its description of the process.
That arrangement gives owners control over when their pool is available and the rules guests must follow. It does not guarantee that anyone will book. Availability, guest interest and the suitability of a particular pool are factors an asking price alone cannot show.
How much do pools cost in Perth?
Swimply’s Perth pool listings page advertised hourly prices starting at A$30 and displayed representative listings priced at A$30, A$45, A$50, A$60 and A$65 per hour in a 2026 snapshot. These are examples of listing prices at the time accessed, not a complete market survey, and they do not establish how often pools are booked. Listings and prices can change. What a host might receive—and why hourly rates are not profit
Swimply’s Australian host page says the platform takes a 15–25% commission from the booking price. A separate Swimply Help Centre article, dated 6 April 2025, says hosts keep 70–80% of earnings and explains that the fee can vary with factors including location, regulation, booking details and other risk factors. Swimply says the exact payout percentage appears in booking details. These are Swimply’s stated fee terms, not a fixed Perth rate or an independent calculation of all costs. The difference between a listing rate and take-home income matters. Even after the platform fee, owners may have costs for cleaning, water treatment, maintenance, utilities, guest management, insurance, tax and compliance. The cited sources do not quantify those expenses or establish typical Perth booking frequency, utilization, earnings or net profit. Treat the advertised hourly rate as a price to test against your own costs—not as an income forecast.

Pool barriers and guest safety in Western Australia
Western Australia’s Building and Energy guidance, updated 2 October 2026, says private swimming pools, spas and portable pools containing more than 30 cm of water need a safety barrier, subject to exceptions identified by the department. Technical requirements depend on the applicable regulations, Building Code of Australia and referenced Australian Standards. The government explains the requirements on its pool and spa safety barrier page.
Barriers are child-resistant, not child-proof; supervision remains important. The WA short-term-rental pool barrier checklist offers practical checks for barriers, gates, latches and climbable objects, but Building and Energy cautions that the checklist should not be relied on as legal advice or as an accurate statement of legislation. Use the checklist as general safety information, and check the applicable requirements for your property.

What Swimply expects of hosts—and what its protections mean
Swimply’s Australian terms say hosts must have authority to list a venue, describe it accurately, disclose relevant rules and charges, and maintain it safely. The terms include water treatment, a barrier or reasonable security measures, and a physical notice that no lifeguard is on duty. Swimply also says it does not own or manage the venue and is not an insurer. Read the Australian terms before listing.
Swimply advertises a Host Guarantee and property damage protection, but those platform statements are not a substitute for understanding the applicable terms or checking your own insurance. The terms state: “Swimply is not an insurer, nor is Swimply acting as an agent in any capacity for any Member.” Ask your insurer how, if at all, your existing policy responds to paid guest use, and review the platform’s current conditions and exclusions rather than assuming a guarantee covers every loss.

- Is the pool safe and compliant? Check the barrier and safety requirements that apply to your property, and make sure the pool can be maintained and supervised appropriately for guest use.
- Do the economics work? Compare your desired price with current listings, account for Swimply’s booking-specific fee, and estimate cleaning, treatment, maintenance, utilities and other costs. The available figures do not establish likely bookings or profit.
- Are you allowed and insured to host? The cited information does not determine tax treatment, local planning or business permissions, or your homeowner policy’s response. Check with the ATO, your local government and your insurer for your circumstances.
- Can you manage guest access? Set clear availability and house rules, accurately disclose pool features and restrictions, and plan how guests will enter and leave without compromising household privacy or safety.
