Start with the area you need to clear, the typical depth and type of snow, and how often you will use it. This guide compares the product ranges and features identified on official US pages from Ariens, Honda, Husqvarna, and Briggs & Stratton; it is not an exhaustive A-to-Z directory or a ranking.
How to choose a snow blower brand for your property
Before choosing a manufacturer, consider the work the machine must do. A compact driveway and a large property with frequent heavy snowfall call for different capabilities. Use these questions to narrow the field:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Area and layout: Measure the paths, driveway, and other surfaces to clear. Tight spaces may favor a more compact machine; wider areas make clearing width more relevant.
- Snow conditions: Think about the usual depth and type of snow, not just occasional extremes. A manufacturer’s stated use case is a guide to its product, not an independent performance test.
- Frequency and duty: A machine for occasional homeowner use may differ from one intended for heavier or more frequent work.
- Design and handling: Compare single-stage and two-stage designs, the power source, traction, and steering features shown for the models available to you.
- Local support: Check whether you can obtain dealer assistance and service nearby, and confirm that the specific model is available in your market.
Snow blower brands and the differences their official pages describe
The official pages below establish each manufacturer’s snow blower presence and selected lineup details. They do not provide like-for-like comparative tests, so the features are useful for identifying candidates—not for declaring one brand more reliable, less expensive, or better performing than another.

Honda Power Equipment
Honda’s official US page lists snow blowers and snow throwers and states that its lineup has 11 models. Husqvarna
Husqvarna’s US catalog separates residential and professional snow blowers. Its residential page highlights models including the ST 124, ST 224, and ST 227; the catalog describes the listed machines as using a two-stage system. Husqvarna also describes power steering on the ST 224. These details help you compare product design and handling features, but do not establish relative clearing performance. What to verify before you buy
Once you have a shortlist, compare the exact models rather than relying on brand names alone. Specifications and retail stock can change, and a lineup shown on a US page may not match what is sold in another market.
- Confirm the model and design. Check the current manufacturer listing for the exact model, whether it is single-stage or two-stage, and its stated intended use.
- Match the clearing width to the site. Compare the model’s published width with your paths and driveway; width alone does not tell you how suitable a machine is for your snow conditions.
- Check power and handling details. Verify the power source and any listed traction or steering features for the model, rather than assuming all machines in a brand’s range share them.
- Ask about local availability and support. Check current dealer stock, service options, and the relevant local product page. Ariens’ US page includes a dealer locator.
- Confirm price and specifications at purchase. Compare current listings for the same model and market. The pages cited here do not establish a current, like-for-like price comparison among these manufacturers.
What this brand guide can—and cannot—tell you
These four manufacturers offer documented snow blower lineups, but they are examples, not a complete list of brands available in every market. The cited manufacturer pages identify product ranges and selected features; they do not establish independent rankings for reliability, value, repair costs, warranty coverage, or clearing performance. Choose by matching a specific machine’s current specifications and local support to the work your property requires.
