Yetch Studio is taking preorders for Batch #2 at a listed price of $1,100, with shipping planned for December 2026 as of October 8, 2026. It is a substantial furniture purchase, so its dimensions, intended use and preorder timing matter as much as its unusual design.
What the Laundry Chair is designed to do
The chair targets a familiar in-between situation: clothes that are not ready for the hamper but that you do not want draped over a chair or left on the floor. A movable rail attached to the chair lets garments hang; rotate it behind the back when you want them out of sight. That leaves the seat available for sitting while giving lightly worn clothes a designated place.
It is interim storage, not a garment-care system. Hanging a garment does not establish that it is clean or suitable to wear again; follow the care instructions for the particular item and decide whether it needs washing.
Size, materials and capacity
Yetch Studio lists a solid hardwood frame, 100% cotton corduroy upholstery and an integrated ball-bearing mechanism for rotating the rail. The seat has reinforced seams and a concealed zipper.

Those assembled dimensions and weight make room planning important: check the intended spot and route into the room, including doorways and stairs. Yetch says assembly is required and that instructions, tools and hardware are included. Its FAQ says the cushion cover can be removed for washing and lists a two-year warranty.
Price, preorder status and expected shipping
As of October 8, 2026, Yetch lists the Laundry Chair at $1,100. The product page says Batch #1 is fully allocated and Batch #2 preorders are open, with shipping planned for December 2026. Yetch cautions that timing can change, so treat that month as an estimate rather than a guaranteed delivery date. The same page’s FAQ gives November 2026 as an estimated ship month; for Batch #2 planning, the more specific batch update says December.

How it compares with a regular clothes rack
A freestanding clothes rack is a simpler category alternative if the main need is somewhere to hang garments. It does not provide a seat or a rail that rotates behind the chair. Yetch’s published specifications describe the Laundry Chair, but there is no established controlled comparison with clothes racks or independent durability assessment.
The idea also came from a practical production challenge. In a March 25, 2026 Kickstarter interview, Giertz said that Kickstarter helped the team reach factory minimum order quantities while checking demand before units were made. That context explains the preorder model, but it is not evidence of completed customer deliveries.

Who the design may suit
- Consider it if you want a dedicated place for lightly worn garments and would use the seat as well as the rail.
- Measure first if the chair would sit in a small room or a tight route from the entrance; it is a roughly 45 lb piece with an assembled footprint near 37 inches in each dimension.
- Look at a basic rack instead if hanging space is the priority and you do not need the combined seat and concealed-rail design.
- Check the live listing before ordering for current price, batch availability and shipping estimates, since preorder details can change.
