RealtyNMore reported on October 13, 2024 that the UCC facility involved an investment of AED 115 million, attributing the figure to a company press release. The underlying release was not available in the cited search results, so AED 115 million should be treated as a reported project figure rather than independently verified capital expenditure.

A later Shree Cement Q1 FY26 release, dated August 4, 2025, said UCC had “recently announced” a plan to increase cement capacity by 3.0 MTPA with an investment of AED 110 million. The release does not explain whether that plan is the facility reported as commissioned in 2024.

The two investment figures are close but cannot be reconciled from the available statements. There is no basis to call the difference a cost overrun, saving, second mill or revised budget.

Why the UAE project matters to UCC
Management said UAE demand was healthy and that the additional grinding capacity would allow the business to use excess clinker to produce cement for the local market. These are management’s stated reasons, not an independently verified market forecast.
In the October 28, 2025 earnings call, managing director Neeraj Akhoury also discussed kiln debottlenecking that was expected to add about 0.5 million tonnes of clinker production. In practical terms, more clinker availability could support higher utilisation of a grinding unit, although the statements do not provide operating-rate, sales or profitability data for the new facility.
