A ring stood under the blue sky, and parts of the action moved close to spectators rather than remaining behind the usual arena barrier.
What happened at the Sekichu Ageo wrestling event?
Kamitani and Tetsu represented STARDOM at the home-center event in Ageo, Saitama. The official STARDOM report describes a ring installed at the familiar retail location and an atmosphere unlike a conventional tournament hall. Spectators could see the wrestlers from close range as the action spilled outside the ring.

How spectators qualified to watch
Entry was tied to a store-purchase promotion rather than ordinary arena ticketing. The announcement listed all three conditions below as necessary:
| Requirement | Published condition |
|---|---|
| Qualifying purchase | A receipt proving at least ¥2,000 spent at the Sekichu Home Center Ageo store between September 30 and October 17, 2026. |
| Receipt handling | Receipts could be combined. Purchases from fresh-food TOP and receipts from tenant businesses were excluded. |
| Membership | Sekichu app or card membership was required. |
| Social-media condition | Visitors had to follow Sekichu’s official Instagram account. |
What the ¥2,000 rule meant
The threshold applied to qualifying purchases at the Ageo store during the stated period, not to every receipt associated with the retail complex. Combining receipts was allowed, but the notice specifically excluded fresh-food TOP purchases and tenant receipts. Anyone relying on several smaller purchases therefore needed to keep the qualifying store receipts together and separate from excluded transactions.

How this differed from a standard STARDOM arena show
The event’s format changed the relationship between wrestlers, spectators and the venue. A dedicated arena normally separates the ring from surrounding commercial activity through fixed seating, ticket checkpoints and a controlled indoor production. At Ageo, the ring occupied a home-center setting and the event was built around proximity to shoppers and customers.
| Comparison point | Sekichu Ageo event | Conventional arena presentation |
|---|---|---|
| Venue familiarity | Retail home-center space used as the event site. | Dedicated wrestling or sports arena. |
| Audience proximity | Action moved close to spectators outside the ring. | Audience generally remains in designated seating around the ring. |
| Access model | Qualifying store receipt, Sekichu app/card membership and Instagram follow. | Ordinary event admission or ticketing model; the specific comparison event is not stated. |
| Operating conditions | Outdoor setup subject to weather and crowd-based entry limits. | Typically managed inside a purpose-built venue, although policies vary. |
Operational warnings for visitors
The event notice cautioned that parking was limited. It also said entry could be restricted if crowds became too large, and that bad weather or other circumstances could lead to a last-minute cancellation. Guest or wrestler changes were also possible. These were conditions in the organizer’s notice, not evidence that a cancellation or lineup change actually occurred on October 17.

Why the outdoor setting mattered
Because the ring was set up outside the store, weather was a direct operational consideration. The same retail location that made the event approachable also exposed it to conditions that a fully indoor arena can avoid. Visitors needed to account for limited parking and the possibility that access procedures could change at the venue.
Why STARDOM used a home-center setting
STARDOM characterized the event as a way for people to experience professional wrestling in a familiar setting. Its official English report states: “Through this event, which allowed people to experience professional wrestling in a familiar setting, we were able to showcase the appeal of women’s professional wrestling.”

That framing explains the event’s purpose beyond a single appearance. A home center places wrestling in a space that customers may already visit for household and building supplies, rather than asking every spectator to begin with a trip to a dedicated entertainment venue. The close-to-the-crowd presentation also makes the wrestlers’ physical performance visible from a different perspective than standard ringside seating.
