Samsung’s 2025 Bespoke range made AI a cross-category feature rather than a standalone gadget. Refrigerators could identify selected foods, ovens could recognize supported dishes, dishwashers could adjust cleaning behavior, laundry appliances could recommend cycles, and vacuums could detect floor surfaces. SmartThings tied many of these functions together.
But these were mostly narrow forms of computer vision, sensor-based control, and automation—not general-purpose artificial intelligence. For homeowners, renovators, and construction professionals, the more important questions are whether the features solve a real problem, whether the appliance fits the space, and what its connected features require over time.

The products were announced in March 2025, so this is a retrospective analysis rather than a current launch announcement. Samsung’s appliance strategy had already evolved by 2026.
What Samsung launched in 2025
Samsung’s 2025 Bespoke expansion covered refrigeration, cooking, dishwashing, laundry, and floor care. The common layer was Samsung’s “AI Home” approach: appliances used cameras, sensors, machine-learning models, displays, Wi-Fi, and SmartThings to automate specific household tasks.

- BEVERAGE CENTER: Quick access to refreshingly cool, filtered water two ways. Choose from an internal dispenser or a built-in pitcher that automatically refills, with the option to infuse with a flavor.
- EXTRA LARGE CAPACITY: With 29 cu. ft. of capacity, this spacious french door french door refrigerator is designed for convenience, offering flexibility and organization to store and access all your favorite foods with ease.
- DUAL ICE MAKER WITH ICE BITES: Enjoy your favorite beverage with your choice of ice. Select from cubed ice or Ice Bites that chill your drink faster.
- FLEXZONE DRAWER: The FlexZone Drawer is customizable with 5 different temperature settings. From french door refrigerator to soft freeze, this middle drawer can store everything from fruit and vegetables to your favorite meat & seafood.
That distinction matters. The appliances do not independently understand every food, recipe, fabric, or floor. Their capabilities depend on supported categories, camera visibility, lighting, software, connectivity, and the exact regional model.

Refrigerators: the most visible AI use case
The new Bespoke 4-Door French Door refrigerators combined configurable styling with screens and food-management features. Depending on the model, buyers could choose a 9-inch AI Home display or larger Family Hub screens, including 21.5-inch and 32-inch versions.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesSamsung said the camera system on one 9-inch model could recognize and label 33 unobscured fresh-food items. Engadget reported different figures for the briefing—37 fresh ingredients and up to 50 processed foods. These numbers should not be treated as one universal specification: recognition varies by model, supported category, and documentation.
In practical use, AI Vision Inside can help build a grocery list and provide freshness-related reminders. It is not a guarantee that the refrigerator knows everything inside. Obscured food, unusual packaging, similar-looking items, poor lighting, dirty camera lenses, or food removed without the system registering it can produce an incomplete inventory. Samsung acknowledged that items outside the supported recognition set may need to be labeled manually.
Freshness reminders should also remain reminders—not a substitute for checking food condition and following food-safety guidance.
Hybrid cooling
The Bespoke AI Hybrid Refrigerator paired a conventional compressor with a solid-state Peltier module. Samsung described AI-directed cooling as a way to respond to events such as loading groceries or leaving the door open, with potential recovery and energy benefits.

Those benefits depend on household behavior, ambient conditions, load size, and operating settings. The launch material did not independently establish a guaranteed reduction in electricity bills. Treat the Hybrid system as a technical feature, not automatic proof that the refrigerator will be cheaper to run.
Kitchen Fit and clearance
The Bespoke 4-Door Flex Kitchen Fit Refrigerator was designed for tighter installations. Samsung’s launch coverage described a door and hinge arrangement requiring approximately 4 mm, or 0.15 inches, of side clearance.
That is useful in a renovation, but it does not eliminate the need for accurate site measurements. Check cabinet depth, door swing, hinge movement, wall clearance, ventilation requirements, delivery routes, floor level, electrical access, and the manufacturer’s current installation guide. A refrigerator that technically fits the opening can still fail if its doors cannot open far enough to remove drawers.
Wall ovens: camera-assisted cooking
Samsung introduced Bespoke 30-inch single and double wall ovens with internal cameras, sensors, AI Home functions, and 7-inch displays in North American models.
Engadget reported recognition of up to 80 recipes during the launch briefing. The oven could provide cooking-time guidance, monitor food through the camera, and create time-lapse recordings. Samsung also described the ability to save settings for a repeatedly prepared dish after cooking it multiple times.
This is assistance rather than autonomous cooking. A camera may recognize a supported dish and recommend a setting, but results still depend on the recipe database, cookware, portion size, food placement, lighting, and whether the camera has a clear view. It should not replace checking food manually, especially when safe internal temperatures matter.
For a kitchen remodel, the practical issues come first: cabinet dimensions, electrical circuit requirements, ventilation, wall-oven stacking, trim clearances, and whether the selected single or double model matches the cabinetry plan. A feature-rich oven is still a poor purchase if the electrical and cabinet design was not finalized before ordering.
Dishwashers: sensors, drying, and quieter operation
The Bespoke Auto Open Door Dishwasher was designed to open automatically at the end of a cycle to help release moisture. It also used food-residue sensing to adjust cleaning behavior, included a third rack with dedicated glass sprayers, and supported remote monitoring and control through SmartThings.
Recommended Free Tools
Samsung listed an operating-noise rating of 38 dBA. It also promoted SmartThings Energy monitoring. These features may be valuable, especially in open-plan kitchens, but launch claims do not independently prove superior cleaning, drying, or energy performance.
Installation deserves equal attention. Confirm the cabinet opening, water-supply connection, drain routing, electrical arrangement, flooring condition, door clearance, and countertop underside. An auto-opening door also needs enough space to operate without striking adjacent cabinets or an island.
Laundry: the biggest installation decision
Samsung’s Bespoke AI Laundry Vented Combo was one of the most consequential additions because “vented” changes the installation requirements. Samsung said the all-in-one washer-dryer could complete a wash-and-dry cycle in as little as 68 minutes. That is a company claim, not a guarantee for every load.
Actual time depends on load size, fabric type, selected cycle, moisture level, installation, and regional model. Dense or oversized loads can take longer.
Vented versus ventless
- Vented combo: Requires a suitable external exhaust path, but may offer faster drying in the right installation.
- Ventless combo: Can be easier to place where exterior exhaust is unavailable, though drying behavior and cycle times differ.
- Separate washer and dryer: Usually provides more flexibility, greater opportunity to wash and dry simultaneously, and easier replacement of one failed appliance, but requires more floor space.
Before specifying a vented combo, verify the exhaust route, duct length, termination, clearances, electrical supply, water connections, drain, and local code requirements. In apartments or interior laundry closets, a vented model may be impossible or expensive to install safely.
The combo format is also a capacity decision. If a household regularly has overlapping loads, one machine cannot wash the next load while drying the first. A single appliance failure can also remove both washing and drying capability.
The laundry models added 7-inch AI Home touchscreens, AI-assisted cycle selection, product-care information, and SmartThings control. Those functions may reduce setup, but they do not compensate for an unsuitable laundry-room layout.
Vacuum: surface detection versus physical usability
The Bespoke AI Jet Ultra cordless stick vacuum used Samsung’s HexaJet motor and AI surface detection. Samsung claimed up to 400 AW of suction power and up to 100 minutes of battery life, alongside an All-in-One Clean Station.

Runtime changes with power mode, attachment, floor type, battery condition, and usage. Samsung’s “most powerful” or “longest-lasting” language should not be treated as an established market-wide fact without a defined test standard.
Engadget noted that the vacuum’s thicker shaft and housing could make it less maneuverable than some competitors. That is a meaningful trade-off for users cleaning under furniture, navigating stairs, or prioritizing low weight. AI surface detection may be useful, but it does not automatically outweigh a vacuum’s handling characteristics.

Samsung’s broader pitch was that appliances would work together through Wi-Fi and SmartThings. Depending on the compatible devices, a household could check laundry status while cooking, monitor or control a dishwasher remotely, review energy use, or access refrigerator inventory from a phone while shopping.
The ecosystem can be more valuable than any individual AI feature for households already using Samsung phones, TVs, or SmartThings devices. It can also create more dependencies:
- Samsung account registration
- Reliable Wi-Fi
- The SmartThings app
- Compatible appliance models and regional support
- Firmware and software updates
- Ongoing acceptance of connected cameras and cloud-linked services
The available launch announcements did not establish that every feature works offline, how long every cloud function will be supported, or whether all future capabilities will remain free. Buyers should confirm those points in the model’s current documentation rather than assume indefinite support.
Are the screens worth paying for?
A screen is a separate value proposition from AI. A refrigerator can recognize selected foods without needing a 32-inch display, and a touchscreen does not make an appliance intelligent.
The 9-inch refrigerator display is less visually dominant, while 21.5-inch and 32-inch Family Hub screens provide more space for widgets, media, recipes, and household information. The smaller 7-inch appliance displays are more focused on controls, cycle status, care information, and connected-device interaction.
Paying for a larger screen makes more sense when:
- The refrigerator is positioned where household members will actually see and use it.
- Shared grocery lists, recipes, calendars, or household information are useful.
- The buyer values an integrated kitchen interface more than the flexibility of a phone or tablet.
It makes less sense when a phone already handles those tasks, the appliance is hidden in a utility area, or the buyer is concerned that a display or cloud service could become obsolete before the refrigerator itself.
Launch pricing and what it does—and does not—tell buyers
These were reported U.S. launch prices from March 2025, not verified August 2026 prices:
- 4-Door French Door refrigerator with 9-inch screen: from $3,999
- 32-inch Family Hub+ refrigerator: from $4,699
- Bespoke AI Hybrid Refrigerator: from $3,999
- 30-inch single wall oven: $3,759
- 30-inch double wall oven: $4,649
- Bespoke Auto Open Door Dishwasher: $1,399
- Bespoke AI Laundry Vented Combo: $3,099
- Bespoke AI Jet Ultra vacuum: $1,099
Engadget reported these launch figures, while Samsung promoted savings of up to $1,500 and launch coverage reported preorder savings of up to $1,000 plus an additional warranty year. Those promotions should not be assumed to remain available.
Who should buy into Samsung’s approach?
| Buyer | Likely fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung ecosystem household | Good fit | SmartThings control and shared status information may provide genuine convenience |
| Renovation or new-build project | Potentially good fit | Coordinated design and integrated controls can be planned into the kitchen or utility room |
| Small-space household | Depends on installation | A combo may save floor space, but venting and capacity must be resolved first |
| Budget-focused buyer | Weak fit | Premium screens and connected features may not deliver enough value |
| Privacy-sensitive household | Weak fit | Internal cameras and cloud-linked services may be unacceptable |
| Offline-first buyer | Weak fit | Remote and cross-device functions depend on accounts, apps, Wi-Fi, and software support |
What remains unproven
The launch material did not independently verify:
- Energy savings from the Hybrid refrigerator
- The 68-minute laundry claim under defined, repeatable conditions
- Improved dishwasher cleaning or energy efficiency
- Recipe-recognition accuracy across varied kitchens and dishes
- Vacuum suction and runtime against competitors using comparable tests
- Long-term reliability, repair costs, and software-support duration
Those are not minor details. For expensive built-in or hard-to-replace appliances, serviceability, parts availability, warranty coverage, and installation quality can matter more than a headline AI function.
Current-status note
Samsung announced this Bespoke AI expansion in March 2025. By 2026, Samsung had announced newer AI Home and connected-living developments, including additional Bespoke refrigerator and appliance iterations. The 2025 products should therefore be evaluated as a specific generation, not automatically described as Samsung’s newest appliances. See Samsung’s 2026 AI Vision announcement and 2026 connected-living announcement for later developments.
