Samsung launched its Bespoke AI Water Purifier Countertop in South Korea on August 18, 2025, at a reported price of ₩1.45 million. The roughly 17-centimeter-wide countertop unit combines four-stage filtration with measured hot-water dispensing, Bixby voice control and SmartThings monitoring. Samsung says its filter removes 82 types of harmful substances, but the “AI” label describes connected controls and convenience features—not AI-driven water treatment. Launch coverage did not confirm a U.S. release.
What Samsung launched
The Samsung Bespoke AI Water Purifier Countertop is a drinking-water appliance designed to sit on a kitchen counter. It is not a refrigerator dispenser, a whole-house filtration system or a filter for Samsung Bespoke refrigerators. Launch coverage describes a unit about 17 centimeters wide, intended to fit a compact kitchen without major installation construction; that does not establish that it needs no water-line or drainage connection. Confirm the model’s plumbing and clearance requirements before planning an installation. Asia Business Daily and T3 report the compact format.

Samsung describes a four-stage filtration system. Launch coverage reports filtration down to approximately 0.08 micrometers and cites Samsung’s claim that the purifier can remove 82 types of harmful substances, including microplastics and metals such as lead, mercury and chromium. Samsung-linked coverage also refers to NSF certification. These are product and certification claims, not a guarantee that the appliance removes every contaminant from every water supply. The available launch material does not provide the full contaminant list or certification document, so buyers should check the complete performance data for the exact filter configuration and match it to their water-quality needs. Asia Business Daily, Maeil Business and Notebookcheck report these specifications.
#1 Best Overall
- Note: This product is square, not round. Replacement for DA97-17376B (HAF-QIN), not compatible with DA29-00020B (HAF-CIN). The Waterspecialist refrigerator water filter features filtration performance is comparable to the original brand. It is also certified by authority NSF 42 and 372. Far different from generic brand, Waterspecialist only adopts superior coconut shell carbon block to improve taste and odor.
- Great filtration: Waterspecialist refrigerator filters can reduce many harmful substances in water including heavy metals, mercury, chlorine, odor, THM, VOCs (volatile organic compounds), particles, copper, cadmium, chromium, and all other major impurities. This has been tested and proven by an independent third-party laboratory. While the impurities are reduced, every beneficial mineral in your water is kept, ensuring that your body functions properly.
- Premium filter material: Waterspecialist selected BPA-free and food-grade filter housing that passed NSF 372 certification for lead-free filtration. We also adopt natural coconut shell carbon block that contains larger surface area and more micropores. Thus, the filter cartridge can efficiently reduce chlorine, bad taste and odor.
- Perfect fit: Waterspecialist combines precision measurement technology to produce refrigerator filters with exquisite engineering designs, unlike inferior replacement filters that can cause water leakage issues. Also, Waterspecialist saves you time and hassle by offering tool-free refrigerator filter replacements.
- Fresh-tasting water: The natural coconut shell carbon block absorbs more impurities. The Waterspecialist refrigerator filter provides you a unique filtration experience.
For a home using a private well, or one with a known contamination concern, first obtain a water test and confirm that the certified reduction claims cover the specific contaminant. A count of substances alone does not show suitability for every concern, including PFAS, nitrates, fluoride, hardness or microbial contamination. The reported 82-substance claim should not substitute for the model’s full performance data and a local water-quality report.
What “AI” does—and does not do
The reported smart features focus on dispensing and appliance management: Bixby voice commands, SmartThings connectivity, filter-replacement alerts, and controls for water amount and temperature. The purifier can also use voice-selected recipes for instant noodles; launch coverage reports support for 38 recipes. A dedicated brewer kit is listed as an optional pairing, but the sources do not establish its price. Tom’s Guide, Maeil Business and Notebookcheck cover these functions.
Nothing in the reported features establishes that AI detects contaminants, learns a home’s water chemistry or improves filtration. Treatment comes from the filter and sanitation hardware; connected software handles interaction, recipes, monitoring and maintenance prompts. Samsung’s broader Bespoke AI description centers on connected appliance functions through SmartThings and Bixby: Samsung’s Bespoke AI overview.

Dispensing, temperature and hygiene routines
Secondary reporting says users can dispense between 50 milliliters and 1 liter, in 10-milliliter increments, and select temperatures in 5-degree increments up to a reported maximum setting of 90°C. Those figures are reported specifications, not independent measurements. The sources do not establish heating speed, outlet-temperature accuracy, flow rate, energy use, reservoir capacity or whether hot-water controls can be locked for child safety. Treat a 90°C setting as a burn hazard and check the model manual for safeguards before use. Notebookcheck’s launch report lists the dispensing range and settings.
Reported hygiene features include stainless-steel direct-water piping, electrolysis-based pipe sterilization every three days, and automatic drainage of residual water every four hours when the unit is idle. Samsung-linked coverage cites 99.9% reduction of Staphylococcus aureus and E. coli under its stated conditions; the launch reports do not supply the test protocol or certification details behind that figure. The outlet is reportedly removable for separate cleaning, and the appliance can send cleaning and filter notifications. These routines support maintenance; they do not make the purifier maintenance-free. Users still need to clean parts and replace filters as instructed. Asia Business Daily and Maeil Business report the hygiene features.
Price, colors and availability
The reported South Korean launch price was ₩1.45 million on August 18, 2025. Coverage describes three finishes: satin beige, satin greige or gray, and Supstone charcoal or black; translated color names vary by source. Dollar figures near US$1,000–$1,046 in some reports are approximate conversions of the Korean price, not a U.S. MSRP. Maeil Business reports the price and finishes.

The launch coverage confirms South Korea but does not confirm a U.S. release. The Korean product listing is the available official product page; it is not evidence of U.S. stock or local warranty support. Do not treat an imported unit as a straightforward substitute for a locally supported appliance: plug and voltage, plumbing fittings, app-region availability, filter supply, language and repair coverage have not been established for other markets. Tom’s Guide and Notebookcheck likewise discuss the Korean-market launch.

The feature mix is most relevant to households that want a compact countertop appliance, routinely use precisely measured hot water, and already rely on Samsung’s connected-home ecosystem. It may also suit renters or kitchens where an under-sink system is impractical, provided the final model’s water-supply and drainage requirements can be met. Recipe dispensing could be convenient for regular instant-noodle, tea or coffee preparation.
It is a weaker fit for buyers whose priority is the lowest-cost drinking-water filtration, whole-home treatment, or a documented reduction claim for a specific contaminant not established for this model. Households with private wells should test water and confirm certification coverage before choosing any purifier. Buyers who do not want Wi-Fi, voice control, app setup or Samsung-account dependence may have little use for the connected premium.

What to verify before buying
The launch coverage does not establish the recurring ownership costs or several practical specifications. Before purchasing, check Samsung’s local documentation or seller terms for:
- The exact filter SKU, certified performance data, replacement price and recommended interval.
- Whether the unit restricts operation after a filter expires, and how replacement filters are supplied in your market.
- Water-inlet, drainage, pressure, electrical, clearance and installation requirements.
- Warranty, repair access and availability of consumables outside South Korea.
- Energy use, hot-water safety controls, offline dispensing behavior and whether Bixby requires an internet connection.
- The optional brewer kit’s price and compatibility, if coffee brewing matters to your decision.
Samsung’s Korean product pages list the purifier and package configurations, but specifications and availability should be checked for the exact market and configuration: purifier package page and alternate package page.
Is the premium justified?
At its Korean launch price, this is a premium connected appliance, not simply a basic filter. Its potential value lies in combining filtration with compact design, measured hot-water dispensing, recipe controls, SmartThings monitoring and automated hygiene routines. The launch sources do not establish filter costs, replacement frequency, energy consumption or service charges, so the total cost of ownership cannot be compared from the launch price alone. Buyers who want only drinking-water filtration should compare certified pitchers, under-sink systems or countertop reverse-osmosis units against their specific water needs and installation constraints; those alternatives differ in capacity, treatment method and upkeep.
