Samsung announced its 2026 Bespoke AI WindFree air-conditioner range in India on January 30, 2026. The lineup includes 23 models, new 4-star options, and a launch starting price of ₹32,490. Samsung’s headline features include WindFree distributed airflow, AI-assisted cooling and energy management, Dry Comfort humidity control, SmartThings connectivity, and extended warranty coverage.
A separate premium Bespoke AI WindFree Pro model followed on April 8, 2026. It is not the same announcement as the January 23-model range.

Samsung’s announcement positions the range for connected, energy-conscious cooling in Indian conditions. The ₹32,490 figure is a launch starting price, not a guaranteed current price for every capacity or star-rating variant.

WindFree systems distribute air through thousands of small openings rather than directing one concentrated blast at occupants. The goal is gentler, more even airflow and less of the uncomfortable cold draft associated with conventional cooling.

“Draft-free” does not mean airflow disappears. It means the air is dispersed more gradually. That makes WindFree potentially useful in bedrooms, studies and other rooms where people sit under an AC for long periods.
The trade-off is initial cooling speed. Fast or Turbo cooling is more appropriate when a hot room needs to cool quickly. A practical routine is to use Fast Cooling first, then switch to WindFree for sustained comfort. The exact modes depend on the model.
What Samsung’s AI features do
AI Fast & Comfort Cooling
Samsung says this system analyses conditions including room temperature, humidity, room size, usage patterns and user preferences. It can select or transition between Fast Cooling, WindFree comfort cooling and Dry Comfort. The purpose is automated mode selection rather than a guarantee that every room will cool faster or use less electricity.
AI Energy Mode
AI Energy Mode adjusts compressor operation, temperature settings and cooling intensity using learned usage patterns. Samsung claims energy reductions of up to 30% under specified conditions.
That is a maximum manufacturer claim, not a guaranteed reduction on every electricity bill. Samsung’s disclosed testing used an internal residential laboratory, a specific comparison between AI Energy Mode on and off, and operating logic in which the set temperature could increase by up to two degrees. Real consumption will also depend on outside temperature, humidity, insulation, room size, set temperature, operating hours, installation quality and the local electricity tariff.
The feature requires SmartThings and a Samsung account. It is separate from the BEE star rating: a high-rated model and an energy-management mode address consumption in different ways.
Dry Comfort for humid conditions
Dry Comfort uses humidity sensing and refrigerant-flow control to remove excess moisture without making the room unnecessarily cold. This may be useful during monsoon periods or in coastal regions.

Open doors or windows, water ingress, poor drainage, heavy moisture generation and incorrect sizing can all limit the result.
SmartThings, remote control and maintenance
The 2026 catalogue lists Wi-Fi connectivity, SmartThings control, Energy Monitor, AI Energy Mode, Quick Remote, Map View, Welcome Cooling, Away Care, SmartThings Home Care, Smart Forward and AI Auto Cooling. Voice control is listed with Bixby, Alexa and Google Assistant or Google Home compatibility.
These features can allow an owner to:
- Start or adjust cooling remotely before arriving home.
- Monitor usage and receive energy-related information.
- Create routines and use away or welcome automation.
- Receive maintenance or service-related notifications.
- Control the AC with supported voice assistants.
Smart functions require a suitable Wi-Fi connection and Samsung account. If connectivity fails, ordinary cooling should remain controllable through the physical remote, but remote monitoring, automations and voice commands may not work. Assistant availability can vary by country, language, account and third-party platform; Samsung also notes that Bixby availability may vary by country. App interfaces and features can change through software updates.

Buyers should confirm SmartThings compatibility and the exact feature list on the product page for the model they intend to purchase. The words “Bespoke AI” do not prove that every unit has identical hardware or software.
Model differences matter
Samsung’s 2026 catalogue contains Bespoke AI and Bespoke AI WindFree products, so “100% Bespoke AI WindFree” marketing should not be used as a substitute for checking the model number. Feature availability can differ across the 23 models, including WindFree hardware, Freeze Wash, radar-based sensing and other functions.

The catalogue lists representative WindFree models with cooling operation in a low-ambient range shown as 15–52°C, maximum piping length of up to 30 metres and maximum piping height of up to 15 metres. These limits are model-specific and should not be applied automatically to the entire family.

January lineup versus April WindFree Pro
The January announcement covers the mainstream 23-model 2026 range. On April 8, Samsung announced the Bespoke AI WindFree Pro in India at ₹66,990 through Samsung.com and select partner outlets.
The Pro release adds Pro branding, a redesigned airflow system, Motion Wind modes and a dual-charging remote with sunlight and USB-C charging. Samsung’s India release describes five Motion Wind modes. A separate global CES description refers to seven tailored wind modes, so those counts should not be merged: they may reflect regional or product-version differences. Check the Indian model’s specification before treating any Pro feature as universal.
The ₹66,990 announcement price applies to the announced Pro product and should not be presented as the price of every Pro capacity or configuration.

For a bedroom or study
WindFree is most attractive if occupants dislike direct cold air or run the AC for extended periods. Confirm the indoor noise specification and select a capacity based on the actual heat load rather than choosing solely by room area.

Dry Comfort can be useful where humidity is a major comfort problem. It will work best in a reasonably sealed room with correct drainage and adequate operating time.

For a smart-home user
SmartThings is worthwhile if remote pre-cooling, energy monitoring, automation or maintenance notifications will genuinely be used. Confirm Wi-Fi reach near the indoor unit and accept that app-based functions require an account and connectivity.
For a budget buyer
A conventional or non-WindFree model may be better value if the priority is the lowest purchase price, forceful airflow or simple remote control. Do not pay a feature premium merely for the AI label.
For a large or open-plan room
Do not size an AC from square footage alone. Consider:

- Sun exposure and window area.
- Floor level and roof heat.
- Number of occupants.
- Insulation and air leakage.
- Heat-producing appliances.
- Local climate and humidity.
- Whether doors remain open.
A 4.75–5.10 kW unit is not automatically suitable for every large room. Have the load assessed and confirm the manufacturer’s recommended capacity for the exact model.
Installation can matter as much as the feature list
Even a well-specified inverter AC can perform poorly if installation is compromised. Before accepting a quotation, confirm:
- The indoor and outdoor units are correctly sized for the room and heat load.
- The copper refrigerant lines match Samsung’s requirements.
- The lines are vacuumed before commissioning.
- Pipe bends, extensions and total length stay within the model’s limits.
- The outdoor unit has adequate ventilation and service access.
- The condensate drain has suitable slope and no blockage risk.
- The electrical circuit, earthing and protective devices are appropriate.
- The installation includes proper testing for leaks and operating performance.
- Warranty registration and installation documentation are retained.
Samsung’s catalogue limits for piping and height are not universal guarantees for every model. Ask the installer to document the actual pipe length, height difference and any additional work before installation.
Warranty and ownership checks
Samsung announced a five-year comprehensive warranty on key components and a 10-year warranty on the AI Inverter Compressor. The compressor warranty should not be interpreted as 10 years of comprehensive coverage for every repair, part and labour charge.

Before purchase, verify the current warranty terms, registration requirements, exclusions, installation conditions and whether coverage differs by seller or promotional offer. Ask specifically whether compressor coverage includes labour, gas charging, PCB components, condenser parts and service visits. Samsung’s India support page is the appropriate starting point for service and warranty information.
Bottom line
Samsung’s 2026 India range is strongest when its comfort and connected features match the room: WindFree for reduced draft sensation, Dry Comfort for humid conditions, and SmartThings for remote control and monitoring. Its weaknesses are the feature differences between models, the premium over simpler ACs, dependence on Wi-Fi and an account for smart functions, and the risk of treating “up to 30%” savings as a universal result.
Choose by exact model number, capacity, star rating, confirmed features and installation quality—not just by the Bespoke AI WindFree name. Check live pricing before buying because the announced ₹32,490 starting price and ₹66,990 Pro price can change with model, stock, retailer, installation charges and promotions.
