Roborock Qrevo MaxV Review: Excellent Edge Mopping, but Is Corner Cleaning Really Unmatched?

Verdict: The Roborock Qrevo MaxV is exceptionally good at mopping along walls and baseboards, thanks to its FlexiArm mop extension. It also delivers strong vacuuming, effective stain cleaning, capable obstacle recognition, and one of the more automated docks of its generation. But “unmatched corner cleaning” is too broad: its biggest advantage is wet edge cleaning, not necessarily picking up every piece of dry debris from deep 90-degree corners.

It is a strong buy for mostly hard-floor homes when discounted substantially. At prices close to newer Qrevo and Saros models, compare their newer side-brush, anti-tangle, chassis, and navigation designs first.

What makes the Qrevo MaxV different?

The MaxV combines a round robot vacuum with two spinning mop pads and Roborock’s FlexiArm mop extension. When the robot detects a wall or suitable obstacle, one mop pad moves outward to clean closer to the edge. Roborock claims 98.8% edge coverage in a TÜV Rheinland-certified test, with a stated precision margin of 1.85 mm. That is a useful controlled measurement, not a guarantee that every household corner will be perfectly cleaned. Roborock’s product page describes the test and the system’s limitations.

Other headline features include advertised 7,000 Pa suction, dual spinning pads rotating at up to 200 rpm under specified test conditions, automatic mop lifting, hot-water mop washing, warm-air drying, dirt-aware mop re-washing, and camera-assisted obstacle recognition.

Corner cleaning: what it really does well

Edge mopping is the MaxV’s genuine strength

On sealed hard floors, the extending mop can approach straight baseboards more closely than a conventional fixed-pad robot. That helps with the damp film, kitchen residue, and fine dirt that often collect where the floor meets the wall.

The extension can also work around some obstacles, but it does not turn the round robot into a square-edge cleaner. Furniture legs, irregular baseboards, clutter, thresholds, and sharply angled inside corners can interrupt its path. The mop may reach along a wall while still leaving a small amount of dirt in the deepest point of a corner.

Corner vacuuming is a different problem

Dry debris is governed by the robot’s circular body, side brush, intake, and main brush—not just the mop extension. A cereal flake, pet hair clump, or grit pile in a tight 90-degree corner can remain even when the mop has reached the baseboard.

That distinction matters when comparing the MaxV with newer robots. The Qrevo Edge review from Vacuum Wars discusses newer edge-cleaning hardware, including an extending side-brush approach that may be more relevant to dry corner debris. The MaxV should therefore be described as an excellent edge-mopping robot rather than the universal winner for every kind of corner cleaning.

How to get the best edge results

  1. Enable corner-stretch mopping, or the equivalent edge-extension setting, in the Roborock app.
  2. Use a mopping-capable cleaning mode.
  3. Attach the mop cloth flat and securely.
  4. Start cleaning from the dock so the robot can return for washing and drying.
  5. Remove cords, toys, and clutter from the wall line.
  6. Check the extension if it stops moving or appears obstructed.

Roborock’s troubleshooting documentation specifically identifies the corner-stretch setting, mop attachment, and extension mechanism as relevant when edge cleaning fails.

Vacuuming performance

The MaxV has a manufacturer-rated maximum suction figure of 7,000 Pa. That number is not a complete measure of cleaning ability, so its real-world pickup matters more. Vacuum Wars reported strong results in its tests on hard floors, carpets, fine particles, large debris, pet hair, human hair, and crevice pickup. Those results are useful independent evidence, although outcomes vary with floor type, settings, debris quantity, brush condition, and run duration. Read the full Vacuum Wars evaluation for its test conditions.

For routine dust, crumbs, tracked-in grit, and pet hair, the MaxV is a capable all-floor cleaner. Its limitation is specialization: a single side brush and round body do not guarantee perfect dry pickup from every inside corner or directly against every irregular baseboard.

Mopping performance

The two spinning mop pads apply pressure while rotating across the floor. Vacuum Wars found the MaxV effective against dried coffee and grape-juice stains in its testing. That makes it well suited to routine kitchen messes, paw marks, and the dull film that ordinary vacuuming leaves behind.

The pads can lift by up to 10 mm when carpet is detected. The app provides four carpet behaviors:

  • Rise: Lift the mop and stop water flow when carpet is detected.
  • Avoid: Avoid carpet completely.
  • Ignore: Continue over carpet, useful where mats are intended to be mopped.
  • Cross: Cross rugs or door mats without cleaning them.

Use Rise for mixed hard floors and carpet, Avoid for delicate or absorbent rugs, and Cross when the robot needs to pass over a mat to reach another room. A 10 mm lift is helpful but does not guarantee that every thick or shaggy rug will remain completely dry.

Dried stains can yield to repeated passes, but spinning pads are not a substitute for manual scrubbing on baked-on grease, textured flooring, or grout-level dirt.

Dock automation: genuinely useful, not maintenance-free

The Multifunctional Dock 2.0 empties the robot’s dustbin, washes the mop pads, refills the robot’s water tank, and dries the pads with warm air. It can also detect when the pads need another wash and support automatic re-mopping of especially dirty areas. Roborock says automatic re-mopping must be enabled in the app.

Its stated capacities include an 80 ml robot water tank, a 4-liter clean-water tank, a 3.5-liter dirty-water tank, and a 330 ml robot dustbin. The US product page lists mop washing at 140°F and warm-air drying at 113°F.

The owner still needs to:

  • Fill the clean-water tank and empty the dirty-water tank.
  • Replace the disposable dust bag when full.
  • Clean the dock wash area, filter, and removable cleaning tank.
  • Remove hair and residue from brushes and mop cloths.
  • Clean sensors and charging contacts.
  • Replace filters, mop cloths, and brushes as required.

The manual recommends regular dock and component maintenance, including monthly cleaning of the charging contacts. Use only Roborock-approved floor cleaner in the water tank, according to Roborock’s FAQ guidance. The dock reduces daily labor; it does not eliminate ownership work.

Navigation and obstacle avoidance

PreciSense LiDAR handles mapping while structured-light sensing and an RGB camera assist with obstacle recognition. Roborock claims recognition of 62 object types across 20 categories. The system can show obstacle images and map icons, recognize some pets, and support remote viewing and two-way voice features.

Firmware matters. Vacuum Wars initially criticized the MaxV’s obstacle avoidance, then reported a significant improvement after a firmware update. That means launch-era reviews may not reflect later behavior. Update the robot and app before judging it.

Even after updates, do not leave cables, socks, toys, small objects, or pet waste in its path. Poor lighting, partially hidden objects, low-profile items, and unusual shapes can still defeat camera-based recognition. Pet recognition is not a guarantee of pet safety or pet-waste avoidance.

The RGB camera also creates a privacy trade-off. Households that do not want an indoor camera or remote-viewing capability may prefer a camera-free model.

App setup and important limitations

The MaxV supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only; 5 GHz is not supported. A phone or router using only a 5 GHz network can cause pairing problems.

After setup, create a complete map, divide rooms, set no-go zones, choose carpet behavior, enable corner-stretch mopping, and turn on automatic re-mopping if you want that feature. Keep the dock level and accessible, and avoid placing it where the robot cannot approach squarely.

Roborock’s support material lists approximately four hours for charging. Runtime figures differ by source and mode: Roborock lists approximately 150 minutes in Balanced mode, while Vacuum Wars cites a 180-minute official figure. Actual runtime changes with suction level, mopping, carpet, obstacles, and navigation behavior. In Vacuum Wars’ test environment, a 330-square-foot vacuum-and-mop run took about 60 minutes—useful context, not a household guarantee.

Qrevo MaxV versus the original Q Revo

The MaxV is a meaningful upgrade when its specific additions solve a problem you notice:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Feature Original Q Revo Qrevo MaxV
Advertised suction 5,500 Pa 7,000 Pa
Edge mopping Fixed mop reach FlexiArm extending mop
Mop washing Standard dock washing Hot-water washing
Obstacle recognition Less advanced sensing RGB camera plus structured light
Smart cleaning Fewer dirt-aware functions Dirt-aware re-washing and re-mopping
Extras More limited Voice assistant and remote viewing

Existing Q Revo owners should upgrade if dirty mop edges are a recurring problem, hot-water washing matters, or camera-assisted recognition and remote viewing are valuable. The upgrade is less compelling if the current robot already cleans adequately or the main complaint is dry debris left in deep corners. Vacuum Wars likewise concluded that the MaxV was a substantial improvement but not an automatic upgrade for every Q Revo owner. Roborock’s comparison documentation lists the principal differences.

How it compares with newer Roborock models in 2026

The MaxV launched into a different value market than the one buyers face now. Roborock’s current US catalog includes newer Qrevo and Saros models with updated brush systems, thinner bodies, newer docks, and different edge-cleaning designs. Availability and promotions change quickly, so treat these as comparison targets rather than permanent price recommendations.

  • Qrevo S Pro: Consider it when you want newer advertised suction and all-in-one automation at a lower promotional price.
  • Qrevo Edge 2: Better suited to buyers prioritizing newer edge, hair, and anti-tangle hardware.
  • Qrevo CurvX: Worth comparing when a newer platform and thinner chassis matter.
  • Saros 10R: A stronger candidate for buyers wanting a newer flagship-oriented system and very thin design.
  • Q10 S5+: A lower-cost option if you can accept fewer premium dock and mopping features.

As a price reference only, the dossier recorded an Amazon price of $449.99 for the MaxV on August 2, 2026, while an official Roborock result showed the product at $699.99 against a $1,399.99 reference price and indicated changing availability. Check the official deals page and official store before buying.

Who should buy the Qrevo MaxV?

Buy it when:

  • Your home is mostly sealed hard flooring.
  • Edge mopping and cleaner baseboards matter more than perfect dry corner pickup.
  • You want automated dust emptying, mop washing, drying, and water refilling.
  • You have pets and value recognition, remote viewing, and dirt-aware mop care.
  • You can find it well below the price of newer models.
  • You are comfortable maintaining tanks, filters, brushes, mop cloths, and the dock.

Skip it or compare alternatives when:

  • Your main goal is sweeping dry debris from deep 90-degree corners.
  • The MaxV costs nearly as much as a newer Qrevo Edge, CurvX, or Saros model.
  • You want a camera-free robot.
  • Your home has thick rugs, tall thresholds, or difficult floor transitions.
  • You have only carpet and will not use the mopping system.
  • You cannot provide reliable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or permanent space for the large dock.
  • You want zero recurring consumables or maintenance.

Final verdict

The Roborock Qrevo MaxV remains one of the better edge-mopping robot vacuums of its generation. Its FlexiArm pad makes a visible difference along walls, while its spinning mops, automated dock, strong general pickup, and capable mapping make it a well-rounded system.

But the title needs a qualification: the MaxV is not proven to be universally unmatched at corner cleaning. Its advantage is primarily mop reach. Newer robots may be better choices for dry corner debris, hair management, anti-tangle performance, thinner clearance, or current flagship navigation.

Buy the Qrevo MaxV at a substantial discount if edge mopping and dock automation are your priorities. At full or near-new-model pricing, compare the newer alternatives before committing.
