What the Qrevo Curv is
The Qrevo Curv is a hybrid robot vacuum and mop with LiDAR navigation, an RGB camera, structured-light sensing, automatic dust emptying, clean-water refilling, heated mop washing, warm-air drying, and automatic mop and brush lifting. Its multifunctional dock is designed to handle most of the repetitive work after a cleaning run.
Roborock specifies maximum suction of 18,500 Pa. That is a manufacturer specification, not a directly comparable measure of cleaning quality across brands. Pickup depends on brush design, airflow, floor type, debris, software settings, and whether the robot makes multiple passes.
The robot also includes Roborock’s DuoDivide main brush, dual anti-tangle design, FlexiArm side-brush and edge-mopping mechanisms, voice-assistant support, and camera-based pet features. Feature availability can vary by region, account, firmware, and app version.

Hard floors
Hard floors are the Curv’s safest recommendation. Its high airflow specification, rotating brush system, and edge-focused side brush are designed for fine dust, crumbs, hair, and debris in floor gaps. Roborock specifically promotes the DuoDivide brush and suction system for hard floors, carpets, and gaps, but those statements remain manufacturer claims unless confirmed by controlled pickup testing.
Expect the best results when the floor is reasonably clear and the robot is configured for the correct suction level. As with many circular robots, corners and the small area directly around furniture legs remain more difficult than open floor. The FlexiArm side brush and mop are intended to reduce that edge gap, but “edge-to-edge” should not be interpreted as literally cleaning every corner.
Low-pile carpet
Low-pile carpet is a more meaningful test of the brush and airflow system than the Pa number alone. The Curv can lift or retract its mop components for carpet cleaning, helping prevent damp pads from being dragged across carpet. Users should still confirm carpet settings in the app and consider vacuum-only room runs where carpet protection is especially important.
Pet hair and fine debris should be evaluated separately. Hair pickup can look good while fine particles remain embedded in carpet fibers, particularly after a single pass.

Whether tackling high thresholds or effortlessly maneuvering around furniture legs, it adapts seamlessly to your home's layout, enabling smooth, uninterrupted cleaning. (roborock was the first in the robot vacuum industry to mass-produce a product featuring a liftable chassis system with three-wheel control, officially launching this technology in Q3 2024.)
Medium- and high-pile carpet
The AdaptiLift chassis is a major Curv differentiator because it is designed to negotiate medium-pile carpet and uneven transitions. However, crossing a carpet is not the same as cleaning it deeply. Roborock’s traversal claims should not be presented as proof of superior high-pile pickup.
Readers with thick shag, loose-fringed, unstable, or lightweight rugs should be cautious. A robot may cross a hard threshold successfully yet drag, fold, or trap a rug.
Pet and human hair
The anti-tangle brush design is useful for homes with shedding pets and long hair, but “zero tangling” is too strong a claim without long-term testing. Hair can still collect at brush ends, the side brush, wheels, and other moving parts. Long human hair may behave differently from shorter pet hair, so occasional inspection remains necessary even if the main brush appears clean.
TechRadar currently identifies the Qrevo Curv as a strong premium option for pet owners, citing its combined vacuuming, mopping, and dock automation. That editorial assessment should be read alongside the practical requirement to remove toys, cables, and other small objects before cleaning.
Mopping performance
The Curv uses two rotating mop pads rather than simply dragging a static cloth. That makes it well suited to maintenance mopping: dust films, paw prints, fresh water-based spills, and everyday kitchen traffic.
Roborock specifies mop washing with water up to 75°C/167°F and warm-air drying. The dock can also detect dirt and request additional washing, but the automatic re-mopping function may need to be enabled manually in the app. Do not assume every advertised cleaning behavior is active by default.
The FlexiArm edge-mopping mechanism is intended to extend coverage toward walls and furniture. It can reduce the usual edge gap, but no circular robot physically reaches every corner, baseboard junction, stair, or tight space. Dried coffee, grease, thick residue, and sticky contamination may require repeated passes or manual scrubbing.
Hot-water pad washing improves the dock’s ability to remove residue from the pads; it does not sanitize the entire dock, sterilize the floor, or eliminate the need to clean the dirty-water system and tray.

Dock automation: highly convenient, not hands-off
The Multifunctional Dock 3.0 can empty the robot’s dustbin, refill its clean-water supply, collect dirty water, wash the mop pads, and dry them with warm air. This is the feature that most clearly separates the Curv from simpler robot mops.
Ownership still includes regular manual work:
- Emptying the dirty-water tank.
- Refilling the clean-water tank unless a compatible plumbing arrangement is used.
- Replacing dust bags.
- Cleaning filters, the dock tray, sensors, camera, brushes, and wheels.
- Removing hair and checking for blockages.
- Inspecting for residue and odor after repeated wet-cleaning cycles.
Use only the recommended Roborock cleaning solution. Roborock warns against unapproved disinfectants and cleaning products that could cause corrosion or damage; consult its cleaning guidance.
| Maintenance task | Practical timing | Warning signs |
|---|---|---|
| Refill clean water and empty dirty water | As indicated by the dock; more often in large or heavily soiled homes | Dock warnings, weak washing, or unpleasant odor |
| Inspect brush, side brush, and wheels | Weekly in homes with pets or long hair | Noise, reduced movement, missed debris |
| Clean tray, filters, and sensors | Regularly according to the manual and observed buildup | Odor, navigation errors, poor drying, or reduced suction |
| Replace bags, pads, and filters | When full, worn, damaged, or no longer cleaning effectively | Reduced airflow, streaking, or persistent smell |
The dock is also large and heavy: Roborock lists the robot at 8.6 lb and the dock at 19.58 lb. Measure the available floor and overhead clearance before buying, particularly in a utility room, kitchen, or narrow hallway.
Obstacle avoidance and navigation
The Curv combines PreciSense LiDAR, an RGB camera, structured-light sensing, and Reactive AI obstacle recognition. On paper, this is an impressive sensor package. In practice, sensors do not guarantee that the robot will identify every cable, toy, sock, dark object, or low obstruction.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsRTINGS’ updated review describes the Curv’s obstacle avoidance as disappointing despite its RGB camera and 3D structured-light sensor. That is an important qualification: the robot may map rooms accurately while still failing to avoid small or difficult-to-see objects.
Be especially cautious with:
- Black socks and dark objects.
- Thin white cables and phone chargers.
- Small plastic toys.
- Objects partly hidden under furniture.
- Low obstacles and overhanging surfaces.
- Clutter close to walls.
- Dim lighting or reflective surfaces.
It should not be described as pet-proof or accident-proof. If your home regularly has pet waste, clothing, cables, or toys on the floor, you will still need a pre-cleaning routine or no-go zones.
Thresholds, rugs, and uneven floors
The Qrevo Curv’s strongest hardware advantage is its liftable AdaptiLift chassis. Roborock lists a maximum threshold-crossing figure of 4 cm. This is a manufacturer maximum, not a guarantee that the robot will cross every 4 cm transition in every direction.

A vertical ledge, beveled doorway strip, flexible rug edge, and two-step transition are different obstacles. Success can also change with the threshold’s width, material, slipperiness, approach angle, and the robot’s mop position. Measure the actual transition in your home and avoid treating the 4 cm figure as a universal clearance rating.

Roborock’s app provides room recognition, multi-floor maps, no-go and no-mop zones, room-specific vacuum and mop settings, schedules, cleaning history, specific-area cleaning, carpet behavior controls, and firmware updates. The official listing also says specific areas can be removed directly in the app, a function Roborock distinguishes from the Qrevo Master.
Camera-based features can include video calling, pet snapshots, and pet-location functions. Enable them only if you are comfortable with an internet-connected camera in your home, and review the permissions and regional availability shown in the current app.
App labels can change with firmware updates. Record the firmware and app versions if you are documenting exact menu paths, and do not assume a feature described in an older listing is active on every current regional configuration.
Wi-Fi requirement
The US listing supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only; 5GHz is not supported. During setup, connect the phone and robot through a 2.4GHz network. If pairing fails, temporarily separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSIDs, check router security settings, keep the phone on the same network, confirm required location or Bluetooth permissions, and reset the robot’s Wi-Fi before retrying.
Do not assume Matter support on the original Qrevo Curv. Earlier Roborock material described Matter as an upcoming over-the-air feature; availability should be confirmed for the current firmware and US region before purchase.

Noise and everyday ownership
Noise should be considered in separate situations: normal cruising, maximum vacuum mode, dust emptying, mop washing, mop drying, and repeated attempts to cross a threshold. The dock may be more disruptive than quiet cleaning in a small apartment or open-plan home. A numerical noise rating should not be quoted without a controlled measurement or a clearly identified test source.
Consumables include dust bags, mop pads, the main brush, side brush, filters, and approved cleaning solution. Their prices and availability vary by region and may change, so select parts specifically for the US Qrevo Curv rather than trusting generic listings that merely say “Qrevo compatible.”

- Buy it around $650–$700 if you have mostly hard floors or mixed hard floors and low/medium-pile carpet, want one machine for vacuuming and mopping, value a full-service dock, and are willing to clear cables and small objects.
- Compare alternatives at $800–$1,000. At this price, look closely at newer Qrevo Edge or Curv variants, current obstacle-avoidance results, mopping design, warranty, and replacement-part availability.
- Be cautious near $1,600. The Curv’s threshold capability, anti-tangle design, and edge coverage may justify a premium for a specific home, but the original model is harder to recommend without comparing newer robots.
Who should skip it?
Reconsider the Curv if you need genuine deep carpet cleaning, have thick shag or unstable rugs, have stairs or inaccessible levels, dislike maintaining water tanks and a dock, cannot provide a 2.4GHz setup network, need a compact dock, or expect perfect object avoidance. A robot mop is also a poor substitute for manual cleaning of stairs, baseboards, corners, furniture legs, heavy grease, and thick dried-on stains.
Alternatives worth comparing
Within Roborock’s range, the Qrevo Edge S5A may be attractive if its current price is lower and you do not specifically need the Curv’s chassis behavior. The Qrevo Master is another same-brand option, but Roborock identifies differences in liftable-chassis capability and app functionality.
The newer Qrevo CurvX should be compared only after confirming its exact US configuration and price. The Qrevo Curv 2 Flow uses a different roller-mop approach in some markets, but regional availability and specifications vary; do not assume it is sold in the US or equivalent to the original Curv.
Specific Dreame alternatives can also be relevant, but model, warranty, price, and US availability should be verified before making a direct recommendation.
Final assessment
The Roborock Qrevo Curv is best understood as a premium convenience appliance rather than a fully autonomous housekeeper. Its hard-floor vacuuming, everyday mopping, anti-tangle design, edge mechanisms, threshold hardware, and dock automation make it a strong choice at the observed sale price.
Its limitations are equally important: obstacle avoidance is not flawless, carpet traversal is not proof of deep carpet cleaning, rugs and clutter can still cause failures, the dock needs care, and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi is required in the US model. Buy it when the price is close to $650–$700 and those trade-offs match your home. At full premium pricing, compare newer models first.
