Revolv troubleshooting depends on the exact model and control board, so find the full model number on the furnace nameplate before using a fault chart or ordering a part.
Identify your Revolv furnace before troubleshooting
Revolv manuals cover different equipment families, including MG2S, MG1E, MG2R and VMA4. Their diagnostic indications and service instructions are not interchangeable. Record the complete model number from the data label, then use the owner’s manual for that unit. Style Crest’s MG1E product listing and MG2R product listing link to model-specific resources; the VMA4 manual is for that family only.
Do not infer a failed part from a symptom alone. The exact model, fuel, diagnostic indication and installation determine which checks apply. If you cannot identify the furnace or find its manual, contact a qualified HVAC technician rather than following another model’s fault chart.
What to check when the furnace appears completely off
- Check the thermostat. Confirm it is set to Heat, the setpoint is above the room temperature, and it has power. Use the thermostat instructions if its display or settings are unfamiliar.
- Check that access doors are seated. A door that is not properly in place may prevent operation. Do not remove a panel to inspect internal components.
- Look at the furnace disconnect and circuit breaker. If a breaker has tripped, do not repeatedly reset it. If it trips again, leave it off and arrange service.
- Observe the diagnostic light through the intended viewing window. Note the pattern without opening the burner compartment, then compare it with the chart for your exact model and control board.
The MG2S manual also mentions a control-board fuse in its troubleshooting material. That is not a homeowner instruction to open the unit or replace internal electrical parts.

If the furnace has power but does not heat
Start with the thermostat, seated doors, and any visible diagnostic indication. The MG2S manual’s troubleshooting material includes gas supply, ignition and flame sensing, switches, filter condition, condensate drainage, and the secondary heat exchanger. Those are model-specific troubleshooting subjects—not a diagnosis of what is wrong with your furnace, and not a reason to work on gas or internal components yourself.
If the exact-model manual does not resolve the issue with an external check, arrange qualified service. Do not attempt to adjust a gas valve, repair ignition or wiring, open a burner assembly, or bypass a control.

- 【Notice】Buyers should thoroughly examine the installation and wiring instructions depicted in the images before buying. It is recommended to exercise caution if you lack experience in installation to avoid potential problems like product malfunction or incompatibility due to incorrect purchases. Note that the base can only be attached with a maximum of 2 to 5 wires, and connections with 6 to 8 wires are not suitable.

What a blinking diagnostic light means
A blinking light is useful only when you match its pattern to the chart for the furnace’s exact model and control board. The MG2S chart describes indications for control power, polarity, lockout, pressure-switch, limit-switch, and motor faults. That chart does not establish what a blink means on MG1E, MG2R, VMA4, or another Revolv unit.
Read the light through the viewing port if the manual identifies one, record the pattern, and consult the correct manual. The VMA4 manual directs technicians to read diagnostics through the view port before removing the access door; its instruction applies to that manual family. If interpreting the code would require opening the unit or testing electrical or combustion components, stop and call a technician.

If the blower runs, the furnace stops repeatedly, or a safety switch resets
Restricted airflow or a safety-control problem can cause shutdowns, but the symptom alone does not identify the cause. Check only the filter and other homeowner-accessible items described in your exact manual. Do not reset internal safety switches as a troubleshooting routine or keep restarting a furnace that repeatedly stops.
For the MG2S, the manual says that if operation resumes after a blower-limit or flame-rollout switch reset, a qualified service technician should identify and repair the underlying problem. Treat suspected rollout, venting, combustion, or heat-exchanger problems as a stop-and-call situation. The MG2S manual warns that damaged vent piping or a leaking heat exchanger can allow combustion products, including carbon monoxide, into living space.

How to check a dirty furnace filter
Use the filter instructions in the manual for your furnace. First confirm whether the filter is washable or disposable and check its type and dimensions before cleaning or buying a replacement. The MG2S manual flags a dirty or plugged filter; a specific MG1E listing describes a permanent washable filter. Do not assume either detail applies to every Revolv unit.
If the manual allows homeowner filter access, follow its directions and reinstall the filter correctly before operating the furnace. If the filter is damaged, does not fit, or its type is unclear, confirm the model and filter specifications before replacing it.

This function can be turned ON or OFF (refer to page 17 of the instruction manual for specific settings). The display range of humidity: 10%RH to 99%RH, Humidity accuracy: ±5%RH(30%~80%RH), other ±8%RH.
When to stop and call a qualified technician
- The breaker trips again, or the furnace repeatedly shuts down.
- A diagnostic indication points to a safety control, pressure switch, limit switch, motor, ignition, or other internal fault.
- You suspect a gas-supply, flame-rollout, venting, combustion, or heat-exchanger problem.
- Resolving the issue would require opening the burner compartment, working on wiring, testing internal electrical parts, or adjusting gas equipment.
- The model or correct fault chart cannot be confirmed.
Style Crest product pages say HVAC equipment must be installed by a licensed or otherwise qualified dealer or contractor in accordance with manufacturer instructions and applicable codes. That installation guidance does not mean every basic, manual-approved filter inspection requires a technician.
