How large is the facility, and when did it open?
A May 29, 2026 Reading Eagle report says the plant was completed in late 2025 and was operating by the date of the report. It describes approximately 450,000 square feet of manufacturing space and about 18,000 square feet of offices. The report characterizes the project as a $60 million investment. These are reported project figures; the company’s official site does not provide a separate plant fact sheet verifying them.
What does the Reitnouer plant make?
Reitnouer identifies itself as an aluminum flatbed trailer manufacturer. Its official trailer catalog presents multiple trailer categories and configurations. The catalog also describes options such as winch tracks and sliding winches. Buyers should confirm trailer and option specifications for their load and application with an authorized dealer rather than assuming all configurations are available on every model.

What has Reitnouer said about the plant and production?
In the Reading Eagle report, owner, president and CEO Bud Reitnouer said the infrastructure required by this type of manufacturing facility surprised him. He also said the company expected annual output of 3,500 to 4,000 aluminum flatbed trailers. That range is company-reported production context quoted by the newspaper, not an independently audited production result.
The same report quoted Reitnouer describing the trucking industry as being in a downturn while saying Reitnouer had gained market share. Those remarks reflect his assessment at the time of the May 2026 report, not a current industry forecast.
