Qing Shui Meditation Retreat Center is a renovation of a disused bus station at the Qingshuiyan Ancestral Hall scenic area in Anxi, Quanzhou, Fujian, China. Designed by Xiamen Pan-China • RESP Studio, the 1,030-square-metre project repurposes the site for visitor-support spaces, including a tea house, vegetarian restaurant, rest areas and a multifunctional hall. The project sources describe its design and planned uses, but do not establish whether the facilities are currently open to visitors.
What is Qing Shui Meditation Retreat Center?
Despite its name, the project is documented as an architectural renovation in a temple scenic area, not as a standalone retreat business or confirmed bookable lodging. RESP Studio describes the former site as a disused, two-storey bus station beside a square framed by forest. The renovation reuses that building and site for visitor amenities connected to the surrounding landscape and circulation.

Landscape and circulation
The design retains trees and uses an ancient banyan as a central organizing reference. Instead of treating the building as a single object, the project description presents its spaces and routes as a connection between the existing square, forest and new visitor functions.

Levels and building form
The site is narrow and has substantial changes in elevation. The design places major functions below ground, while stepped building volumes and a transitional space on the eastern side mediate between the architecture and forest. This arrangement is the studio’s stated response to the site conditions; the project sources do not provide performance data about its environmental or structural results.
