What is the Pocket Hose Copper Bullet?
The Copper Bullet is a fabric-sleeved hose with an inner tube that expands when pressurized with water and contracts when pressure is released. Pocket Hose lists stored diameter as 3/8 inch and expanded inner-tube diameter as 3/4 inch. The manufacturer markets the design as lightweight and durable, and promotes it with an endorsement from Richard Karn.
Karn is identified by the manufacturer as a “Home Improvement Expert.” The company attributes this statement to him: “I never get tired of watching my Pocket Hose grow! It’s the only hose I use at my home because it’s lightweight, yet so tough.” This is a manufacturer-published endorsement, not independent evidence of performance.
Lengths, weights, and included sprayer
Choose a length based on the distance you need to cover, allowing for the hose’s expanded length and enough slack to reach around obstacles. The manufacturer lists these weights:

These weights are manufacturer-listed figures, not independently measured. The manufacturer says versions 50 feet and longer include a 10-pattern sprayer; confirm the selected length and package contents on the listing before buying.
Water pressure and performance specifications
Expansion depends on the water supply. Pocket Hose says 40 PSI expands the hose to less than three times its original size, while 58 PSI is required for full expansion. If your supply pressure is below 58 PSI, do not assume the hose will reach its full listed length. Actual pressure at the hose can vary with the supply, plumbing, and other water use.

- Flow: The manufacturer lists 18 GPM for a 3/4-inch, 50-foot hose under 55 PSI. This is a specified condition, not a guarantee of flow from every household faucet or setup.
- Maximum working pressure: 80 PSI, according to the product listing.
- Burst pressure: 650 PSI, according to the product listing. This is a stated burst rating, not the recommended pressure for use; stay within the 80 PSI maximum working pressure.
- Operating temperature: 32°F to 140°F, according to the manufacturer.
For a useful comparison with another hose, check the pressure available at your outdoor tap and compare the products’ working-pressure limits—not just a burst-pressure figure.
Construction, safety, and durability claims
Pocket Hose describes the Copper Bullet as having three layers of latex tubing, an outer sleeve, APT connector protection, and copper-infused components. Those are manufacturer descriptions; the available evidence does not establish how the hose performs over time or how it compares with competing hoses under the same conditions.

The manufacturer also describes the product as lead-free and safe for drinking water, saying it has been third-party tested. The product information does not identify the laboratory, test protocol, or report, so this remains a manufacturer claim rather than a safety result independently assessed here. If drinking-water suitability is essential, review the product’s current documentation and use instructions before connecting it to drinking-water service.
What the reviews and price can—and cannot—tell you
