Clean the complete material path after work or a stoppage that could let plaster set, inspect pressure and the rotor/stator assembly against the machine’s specified values, and carry out scheduled service only from the operating manual for your exact model. There is no single cleaning sequence or service interval that fits every mixing pump.
The practical maintenance plan is therefore model-aware: identify the machine and pump configuration, follow its cleaning and lubrication instructions, record pressure and defects, and confirm every replacement part against the current parts list before ordering or fitting it.

Why plastering-machine maintenance is model-specific
“Plastering machine” covers several machine families, pump geometries, hose connections and control arrangements. A procedure that is correct for one mixing pump can be incomplete or unsafe on another. The inspected m-tec duo-mix2000 operating manual, for example, separates cleaning instructions for the pump unit, mortar hoses, mixing tube, feed unit, spraying unit, fine-plaster spraying unit and adhesive gun. That breadth shows why rinsing only the hopper is not a full clean, but the sequence belongs to that named model.
Use the latest operating instructions and parts list for the machine in front of you. The manual should control:

Manufacturer web pages can change, and the duo-mix2000 manual inspected for this guide is dated January 2012. Treat it as model-specific documentation, not as a current instruction for a newer or differently configured machine. Confirm the current manual, machine configuration and part numbers before servicing.
Cleaning after work or during a stoppage
Material left in the pump, mixing tube or hose can harden and obstruct the path. Start cleaning whenever the manual calls for it after work, and repeat the procedure during a stoppage if the material could set before production resumes. Do not improvise a sequence from a different machine.

- Stop material feed and switch the machine off using the shutdown method in its operating instructions.
- Isolate energy and relieve material pressure exactly as the manual directs before opening, uncoupling or removing a component. Keep people clear of hose ends and spray units until the machine is confirmed safe.
- Gather only the cleaning equipment approved for that model. PFT’s official document centre lists examples such as a mixing-tube cleaner, multifunctional spray, cleaning shaft, sponge balls and rinse hose; availability, dimensions and suitability still have to be checked against your machine and hose instructions.
- Protect electrical and control components from water in the manner specified by the manufacturer.
Clean every material-contacting section
Work through the component list in the model manual rather than stopping at the visible hopper. For the duo-mix2000, the documented areas include:
- pump unit;
- mortar hoses, including the uncoupling procedure;
- mixing tube;
- feed unit;
- spraying unit;
- fine-plaster spraying unit; and
- adhesive gun.
Your machine may combine, rename or add sections. Follow its stated order, flushing volume and cleaning method. A hose-cleaning accessory must match the hose diameter and connection; never force a ball, shaft or rinse fitting that the instructions do not identify as compatible.
Verify the result before storage
After cleaning, inspect the bore of hoses, the mixing tube, couplings, seals and spray components for retained mortar, damage or deformation. Check that removable parts are refitted as specified and that protective covers are in place. Store cleaned components so they cannot collect dirt before the next mix. If a blockage remains, use the manual’s approved removal method instead of increasing pressure or striking a pressurised line.
Rotor and stator: the main wear assembly
The rotor and stator form the pump unit that develops the pressure needed to convey material. Their condition affects pressure stability and the machine’s ability to deliver material through the hose.

Pressure loss is a replacement warning, not a complete diagnosis
Knauf PFT states: “If these values are no longer achieved, the unit is worn out and should be replaced.” In that statement, “these values” refers to the working-pressure values for the rotor/stator system described on that product page. Use the same logic on your own machine: compare measured performance with the specified operating range, then investigate according to the manufacturer’s troubleshooting procedure. Pressure loss can involve the rotor/stator, but it should not automatically be attributed to that assembly without checking other possible causes in the manual.
Record when pressure changed, what material and grain size were being pumped, and whether the symptom is constant or intermittent. This information helps distinguish wear from a blocked hose, incorrect setup, a connection problem or another fault identified by the manufacturer.
Rubber condition and heat
The stator contains rubber that can deform as it wears. PFT explains that deformation can accelerate wear and reduce pressure stability. Frictional heat also adversely affects stator rubber. During inspection, look for the condition indicators named in your parts or service documentation, and pay attention to unusual heat, pressure fluctuation or a decline in delivery. Do not continue operating outside the specified limits while waiting for a part decision.
How to identify the correct rotor/stator
Rotor/stator fitment is not universal. Confirm all of the following against the exact machine’s operating instructions and parts list:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- machine model and version;
- pump geometry and rotor/stator system;
- connection and hose arrangement;
- material type and maximum grain size;
- rated working pressure and output; and
- the exact stator and rotor part numbers.
PFT’s D 3-5 mf listing illustrates the level of detail required. That listing names G 4, RITMO XL and SWING L machines, specifies a 25-bar working pressure and a 2 mm maximum grain size, and identifies particular stator and rotor numbers. Those attributes apply to that listing; they are not a general specification for every plastering machine and should not be transferred to another pump without confirmation.
| Compatibility check | What to verify | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Machine identity | Exact model, version and configuration | Closely named machines can use different pump systems or connections. |
| Pump specification | Working pressure, output and grain-size limit in the manual | A component must suit the material and the pressure the machine is designed to produce. |
| Part identification | Rotor and stator numbers in the current parts list | Visual similarity does not prove fitment. |
| Supplier confirmation | Manufacturer or authorised supplier confirms the listing | Useful when a machine has been modified or its documentation is incomplete. |
If the machine plate, manual and existing component disagree, stop and resolve the discrepancy with the manufacturer or authorised parts adviser. Do not buy a generic “plaster machine” set solely because its dimensions appear close.

Scheduled service, oil and approved parts
The duo-mix2000 manual contains both a periodic-maintenance section and an oil-change section. It also instructs operators to use approved spare parts and lubricants. This establishes that scheduled service is a defined, model-specific task; it does not establish the same timing, oil or checklist for another machine.
No universal service interval is supported for all mixing pumps. Set your schedule from the exact manual, then adapt the work planning to the manufacturer’s stated operating conditions. A service record should include:
- date and machine hours, where the machine records them;
- material used and any unusual grain size or mix;
- pressure or output observations;
- cleaning completed and defects found;
- lubricant and quantity used, if specified;
- parts replaced and their part numbers; and
- the name of the person or service provider who carried out the work.
PFT provides a machine-filtered document centre with operating instructions, spare-parts lists, repair kits and inspection documents. m-tec presents machine-specific parts and offers parts advice. Use these manufacturer channels to locate the correct documentation rather than applying a schedule copied from another brand or model.
Wear parts to keep as spares
Carry spares based on the failure points and part list for your machine, not on a generic kit. A sensible planning discussion with the manufacturer or authorised supplier should cover:
- the matched rotor/stator replacement set or the individual components specified for your pump;
- seals, gaskets and coupling parts identified as replaceable in the parts list;
- hose-cleaning items that the manual permits, such as correctly sized sponge balls or a rinse hose;
- mixing-tube cleaning tools, including a cleaner or shaft when listed for the machine; and
- any service kit, lubricant or inspection item named by the manufacturer.
Keep the part number, machine application and storage condition with each spare. A cleaning sponge ball is useful only when its size and material are compatible with the hose and the manual permits its use. Exact ball size, hose diameter, availability and compatibility are not established by the general accessory listing, so verify them before purchase.

| Decision factor | Questions to answer |
|---|---|
| Machine and pump compatibility | Does the quote identify the exact model, pump geometry, rotor/stator system and connection type? |
| Material and operating specification | Does it match the material grain size, rated pressure and output in the machine documentation? |
| Condition evidence | Are pressure performance, rubber condition, heat exposure and visible damage assessed using the manufacturer’s procedure? |
| Documentation and support | Is the part number confirmed by the current parts list or by the manufacturer/authorised supplier? |
| Installation responsibility | Does the service provider state what will be inspected, replaced, lubricated and tested? |
A low price without confirmed fitment can create a longer outage than a correctly identified service kit. Ask for the documentation reference and retain it with the machine record.
Common symptoms and the next check
The machine no longer reaches working pressure
Compare the observed pressure with the specified value and follow the machine’s fault-finding sequence. Inspect the rotor/stator condition and rubber for the wear mechanisms described by the manufacturer, while also checking the hose and material path for restrictions. Replace the assembly when the manufacturer’s criteria are met; do not treat pressure loss alone as proof that no other fault exists.
Pressure fluctuates or delivery becomes unstable
Record whether the fluctuation appears with one material, at one temperature or after a long run. Heat-related rubber effects and stator deformation can reduce stability, but the manual may also direct checks of mixing, feed and hose sections. Stop and inspect rather than compensating by running beyond the rated setting.
A hose or mixing tube remains blocked after rinsing
Stop, isolate and use the approved cleaning shaft, mixing-tube cleaner or other method listed for that model. Confirm that a sponge ball or rinse hose is the correct size and connection. Never push an incompatible tool into a hose or attempt to clear a pressurised obstruction.
A replacement appears to fit but the part number is unclear
Do not install it. Photograph or record the machine plate, pump identification and existing part markings, then have the current parts list or an authorised adviser confirm the rotor and stator numbers.
Model-specific specifications: examples, not benchmarks
| Machine or listing | Published figure | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| PFT D 3-5 mf system listing | 25-bar working pressure; maximum grain size 2 mm | Use only to evaluate the machines and part numbers named on that listing. |
| m-tec m6 product page | Delivery pressure up to 30 bar | Model-specific figure subject to the page’s configuration caveats; not a universal plaster-pump benchmark. |
These are product specifications, not statistics about service life, failure rates or maintenance savings. No reliable population statistic for those outcomes is established here.
A maintenance record that helps the next operator
Write the machine model and configuration at the top of the log, then attach the current manual and parts-list revision. After each cleaning or service event, record what was opened, what was removed, which pressure or output value was observed, and what was changed. Note any material that exceeded the documented grain-size limit or any heat or pressure symptom. This history gives the next operator a traceable basis for ordering parts and deciding whether a recurring problem is wear or a separate fault.
Practical rule
Use the exact manual for the exact machine: clean every section of the material path it identifies, monitor pressure against its specified range, replace a rotor/stator when the manufacturer’s wear criteria are met, and verify every part number before installation. Manufacturer cleaning accessories and service documents are useful starting points, but compatibility, lubricant choice and timing remain machine-specific.
