The building permit for Pardubice’s planned Multifunctional Hockey Arena has become legally effective, and site earthworks are already underway. Arena construction is expected to begin with piling in December 2026; the full complex is targeted for completion in autumn 2030. These are scheduled milestones, not completed work.
What is happening on the site now?
ČTK reported on 2 October 2026 that the building permit had become legally effective. Earthworks connected with remediation of the former municipal waste landfill were in progress, but piling for the arena itself was still expected to start in December. České noviny / ČTK, 2 October 2026

The distinction matters: work to prepare and remediate the site is underway, while December is the forecast start for piling—not confirmation that the arena structure is already being built.

When is the complex due to open?
The current schedule reported by ČTK targets completion of the entire complex in autumn 2030. That is a project target, not a guaranteed opening date. ČTK also reported that the investor had spent about CZK 1 billion on project preparation; this is preparation spending, not the construction price. No final construction contract value or independently audited total project cost is established in the cited sources. České noviny / ČTK, 2 October 2026

The mixed-use scheme is also to include a smaller arena, a hotel, conference facilities, offices, restaurants, retail, a fan shop and parking. MHAP project website České noviny / ČTK, 2 October 2026
Small-arena capacity figures differ
The project website lists seating for up to 2,800. ČTK gives 1,700 for hockey and up to 3,000 for cultural events. The published material does not explain whether these figures reflect different configurations, so they should be treated as separately attributed plan figures rather than one settled capacity. What the environmental screening says—and does not say
CENIA’s official EIA record identifies the project as “Multifunkční hokejová aréna Pardubice,” code PAK1032, with locations in Pardubice and Staré Hradiště. It records the outcome that the project “is not subject to further environmental impact assessment,” with the screening conclusion taking effect on 5 December 2025. That is a screening decision; it does not establish that the project has no environmental effects. The record page has later report and statement sections blank.
