For homeowners—and construction professionals helping them evaluate a project—the key is to assess the written proposal and local terms rather than assume a particular price, savings result or service experience.
What Palmetto does
Palmetto describes its work as helping households make home energy more affordable and easier to manage through solar and storage. Its broader vision also includes distributed energy resources such as on-site generation, batteries, charging, smart thermostats and energy-efficiency measures. In a company-authored article, Palmetto says its solar service can include system design, financing, permits, installation and maintenance. The exact responsibilities and inclusions for a homeowner depend on the current proposal and contract. The company also describes the Palmetto App as a way to view energy production and use and connect with local contractors and service providers. It describes Palmetto Protect as providing energy monitoring, customer support and recommendations; current eligibility and terms are not established by those descriptions. What to check in a Palmetto proposal
Solar economics and project scope depend on the home, equipment, financing and utility rules. Compare Palmetto’s current written offer with other proposals on the same assumptions. Ask for the details in writing before committing.

- Total cost and financing: Identify the full contract amount, payment schedule, financing structure, and any fees or conditions that could change the amount you pay.
- Production and savings assumptions: Review the estimated system output and the assumptions used to project savings. Ask how shading, roof orientation, utility rates and future rate changes factor into the estimate.
- Equipment and scope: Confirm the panel, inverter and battery models, quantities and included work. Establish whether the proposal includes electrical upgrades or other site work if needed.
- Permits and installation responsibilities: Determine who obtains permits, coordinates inspections and handles utility interconnection, and what site preparation is expected from you.
- Maintenance and support: Ask what maintenance and customer support cover, how to report a problem, and which written terms govern repairs or service visits.
- Local utility rules: Check how your utility handles interconnection and credits for exported energy, since local rules affect the value of solar generation.
Palmetto’s public pages do not establish current prices, service availability by location, warranty terms or a homeowner’s likely savings. Use the proposal and contract for decision-specific terms; do not treat a generalized company claim as a forecast for your property.
How to interpret Palmetto’s impact and review figures
Palmetto’s undated mission page says the company is approaching one terawatt-hour of solar generation. It presents that amount as equivalent to powering 97,000 homes for a full year, an equivalency it attributes to the EPA Green Power Equivalency Calculator and the U.S. Energy Information Administration. That is not a count of identifiable homes served, nor independent verification of an individual customer’s production or savings.

Palmetto’s About page displayed 2,334 customer reviews in a search result surfaced October 8, 2026. The excerpt did not identify the review platform or collection period, so the figure should be treated as a changeable on-site display, not an audited measure of customer satisfaction. A forum question asking about experiences with Palmetto Solar is likewise an individual user-generated discussion, not representative evidence: the Reddit discussion.
Palmetto is not every organization called “Palmetto”
The name is ambiguous and may refer to unrelated organizations, including Palmetto Electric Cooperative. This article concerns Palmetto, the clean-energy company at palmetto.com, and its residential solar and home-energy services. Palmetto’s organizational vision and strategy page provides context for the company identity; verify the provider named on any quote or utility communication before comparing services.

Maintenance and follow-up
Palmetto lists maintenance and customer care among its inquiry categories on its contact page. That listing does not establish response times, coverage or the terms applicable to a particular installation. Keep the signed agreement, equipment details, permits, inspection records and utility interconnection documents together so you can refer to the relevant terms when seeking support.
Do not assume solar panels need routine cleaning or attempt unsafe roof access. If cleaning or other maintenance is being considered, follow the installer’s and equipment manufacturer’s care and safety instructions.
