Pakistan’s domestic cement dispatches rose 7.35% year on year to 3.788 million tons in September 2026, up from 3.529 million tons in September 2025. The increase refers to domestic dispatches—not total shipments: total dispatches grew 5.95%, while exports were almost unchanged. These figures are APCMA data reported by Business Recorder and, for the domestic headline, The Standard.
What does the 7% September increase measure?
“Dispatches” are the reported volume of cement sent out by manufacturers. The 7% headline is a rounded version of the 7.35% year-on-year increase in domestic dispatches. It is not the growth rate for all cement dispatched, and the figures alone do not establish why domestic volumes increased.
| Measure | September 2026 | September 2025 | Year-on-year change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Domestic dispatches | 3.788 million tons | 3.529 million tons | Up 7.35% |
| Total dispatches, including exports | 4.621 million tons | 4.361 million tons | Up 5.95% |
| Export dispatches | 832,173 tons | 831,966 tons | Nearly unchanged |
The totals and export volumes are reported APCMA figures published by Business Recorder; The Standard also reports the domestic dispatch figures. Total dispatch growth was below domestic growth because export volumes were nearly flat.
How did dispatches differ between northern and southern mills?
Regional results diverged. The figures below are total dispatches by mills based in each region, not domestic sales alone.

What was the picture for the first quarter of FY27?
For July–September 2026, total dispatches were reported at 13.141 million tons, comprising 10.845 million tons of domestic dispatches and 2.296 million tons of exports. Trade Chronicle’s report of APCMA data put domestic dispatches up 7.79% year on year for the quarter, while exports were down 11.32%. The quarterly export decline contrasts with September’s nearly unchanged export volume, so the two periods should not be treated as interchangeable.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the figures do—and do not—show
The reported data show higher domestic dispatch volume in September and across the first quarter of FY27, alongside sharply different September total-dispatch results for northern and southern mills. Dispatch volumes are an industry shipment measure; by themselves, they do not prove a specific cause such as stronger construction activity or establish changes in cement production, prices, or capacity use.
