Nuvoco Vistas Corporation’s consolidated profit after tax rose 77.8% year on year to ₹64.79 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2026 (Q2 FY27), from ₹36.43 crore a year earlier. Revenue from operations increased 13.5% to ₹2,789.97 crore. The headline growth reflects a comparison with a relatively low Q2 FY26 profit base; sequentially, however, both revenue and profit fell sharply from the June quarter.
Higher cement volumes, improved blended realization and lower finance costs supported the annual increase, while rainfall, logistics disruption and input-cost pressure constrained the quarter. The figures are consolidated results reported by the company and covered by The Economic Times and other cited financial coverage.

Why did Nuvoco Vistas’ profit rise 78% in Q2 FY27?
The 77.8% increase was driven by a combination of operating growth and below-the-line support rather than volume alone. Cement volume reached 4.7 million tonnes, up 9% year on year. ICICI Direct attributed the revenue increase to volume growth of 9.3% and a 3.9% improvement in blended realization, meaning the average revenue earned per tonne across the company’s products and markets.
Operating profit also grew. ICICI Direct reported EBITDA of ₹408.3 crore, up 11.3% year on year, with EBITDA per tonne at ₹869, an increase of 1.8%. Lower finance costs additionally helped the bottom line. Profit before tax was ₹108 crore, compared with ₹51.18 crore in Q2 FY26.

- GREAT FOR DIY PROJECTS: Ideal for small crafts with forms and silicone molds
- HIGH STRENGTH: Solid once dry, dry in 48 hours
- LESS IS MORE: One bag yields approximately .16 cu. ft.
The annual comparison is therefore strong, but it starts from a comparatively low profit base of ₹36.43 crore. That base effect amplifies the percentage increase and is why the absolute profit figure and operating trends are more informative than the rounded 78% headline by itself.

The EBITDA figures and per-tonne metrics come from ICICI Direct’s analysis, while the consolidated revenue and PAT figures were reported in coverage of Nuvoco Vistas’ results.
Did Nuvoco Vistas’ profit rise from the previous quarter?
No. Q2 FY27 was materially weaker sequentially than Q1 FY27. Revenue from operations declined 10.8% from ₹3,128.71 crore in Q1 to ₹2,789.97 crore, while net profit fell about 59% from ₹159.63 crore to ₹64.79 crore.

This distinction matters: the company delivered strong year-on-year growth, but it did not grow quarter to quarter. Cement demand and operating conditions in the September quarter were affected by seasonal disruption and cost pressure, making the two comparison bases tell different stories.
What happened to costs and margins?
ICICI Direct reported that total cost per tonne increased 4.2% year on year. Raw materials, fuel and packaging were among the cost categories under pressure, and negative sequential operating leverage weighed on the quarter. EBITDA per tonne still improved year on year to ₹869, but the increase was modest relative to the rise in sales volume.
Management also pointed to elevated input costs linked to geopolitical uncertainty. These pressures help explain why the increase in operating profit was smaller than the percentage increase in PAT.

What operating conditions affected the September quarter?
Managing director Jayakumar Krishnaswamy described Q2 FY27 as “a testament to resilient execution in a challenging operating environment,” according to The Economic Times. He cited intense and erratic rainfall in key markets, global and regional logistics and supply-chain disruptions, and elevated input costs stemming from geopolitical uncertainty.
Rainfall can interrupt construction activity, dispatches and transport, while logistics bottlenecks can raise delivered costs or delay supplies. These are the company’s explanations for the operating environment, not independently verified forecasts.
What is management expecting for the second half of FY27?
Nuvoco Vistas said it expects cement demand to improve after the monsoon. Management also identified state-government capital spending as a possible source of support in the second half of the financial year. That outlook should be read as management’s view rather than a guaranteed outcome; the result itself shows that weather and supply-chain conditions can produce sharp quarter-to-quarter swings.

Did Nuvoco add cement capacity during Q2?
Wholly owned subsidiary Vadraj Cement commissioned 2 million tonnes per annum of grinding capacity at its Limla plant in Surat during the September quarter, according to company information reported by ETManufacturing. The commissioning expands the group’s available grinding infrastructure, but the reported update does not establish that it caused the entire Q2 profit increase.
What should readers take from the 78% headline?
- ₹64.79 crore is the precise consolidated Q2 FY27 PAT; ₹65 crore and 78% are rounded headline figures.
- Revenue growth was supported by both higher volume and better blended realization.
- EBITDA increased 11.3% year on year, while total cost per tonne rose 4.2%.
- The year-on-year result was strong, but Q2 revenue and PAT were substantially below Q1 FY27.
- Weather, logistics, supply-chain conditions and input costs remain key variables for the next quarter.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does blended realization mean in a cement results report?
Blended realization is the average revenue earned per tonne across the company’s products, regions and customer mix. It can rise even when list prices are unchanged if the sales mix shifts toward higher-priced products or markets.
Why can profit grow faster than revenue in a quarter?
Profit can outpace sales when finance costs, depreciation, taxes or other non-operating items improve, or when operating expenses grow more slowly than revenue. In this quarter, lower finance costs were identified as one contributor alongside operating growth.

What is EBITDA per tonne used for in cement analysis?
It measures operating earnings generated from each tonne sold, allowing readers to separate volume growth from unit economics. A rising figure generally indicates better pricing or cost absorption, although it can still be affected by product and regional mix.
Does new grinding capacity immediately increase reported sales?
Not necessarily. A commissioned plant adds potential capacity, but sales depend on ramp-up, demand, distribution, clinker availability and market utilization. The Limla commissioning is therefore an infrastructure update rather than proof of an immediate earnings contribution.
