No Nest Thermostat Cyber Monday 2026 deal has been confirmed yet. At the latest verified check on August 16, 2026, Google listed the Nest Thermostat at $129.99 and the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) at $279.99. Based on Google’s June promotion, reasonable Cyber Monday targets are about $99.99 for the standard Nest and $239.99 for the Learning Thermostat.
Before buying, check your HVAC compatibility, possible C-wire or Nest Power Connector requirements, installation costs and utility rebates. A cheaper thermostat is not necessarily the cheaper installation.

What counts as a good Nest Thermostat price?
Nest Thermostat
- $129.99: Normal list price; not an especially compelling Cyber Monday offer.
- $99.99: A reasonable buy price supported by Google’s 2026 promotion.
- Below $99.99: A strong deal, provided it is new and includes normal warranty and return protection.
- About $75 or less: An exceptional price that may require a utility rebate, membership, coupon or bundle.
Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen)
- $279.99: Current list price; weak value for Cyber Monday unless meaningful extras are included.
- $239.99: A reasonable target supported by Google’s June discount.
- Below $239.99: A strong deal.
- About $200 or less: Exceptional; verify that the thermostat is new, the second-generation temperature sensor is included and the seller is authorized.
These are buying thresholds, not predictions of what the November sale will be.
Which Nest thermostat should you buy?
Nest Thermostat: the lower-cost choice
The standard Nest Thermostat is the better value if you want remote control, guided scheduling, Google Home integration and away-related energy adjustments at the lowest hardware price.
It does not work with Nest Temperature Sensors, uses a simpler display and has fewer advanced HVAC features. Google says it works with 85% of systems, but that figure does not guarantee compatibility with your particular installation.

Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen): the feature-rich choice
The Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) costs more but includes one Nest Temperature Sensor (2nd gen) and supports up to six additional sensors. That matters in multi-story homes, bedrooms, nurseries, offices and rooms that regularly run hotter or colder than the thermostat location.
It can automatically learn routines and supports Smart Schedule, Adaptive Eco, Seasonal Savings, natural heating and cooling, smart ventilation and HVAC monitoring. It also supports Google Home and Matter-enabled smart-home apps, although Matter does not guarantee that every platform exposes every Nest feature.
The Learning Thermostat is the stronger choice for more complex 24V systems, including many gas, electric, oil, forced-air, heat-pump and radiant systems. Humidifier, dehumidifier, ventilation, zoning and unusual heat-pump arrangements still require compatibility checking.

Nest Thermostat versus Learning Thermostat
| Feature | Nest Thermostat | Learning Thermostat (4th gen) |
|---|---|---|
| List price | $129.99 | $279.99 |
| Temperature sensors | Not supported | One included; up to six additional sensors supported |
| Scheduling | Guided scheduling | Automatic learning plus Smart Schedule |
| HVAC support | Google says 85% of systems | Most 24V systems, subject to wiring and equipment limits |
| Advanced controls | More limited | Ventilation, humidification, dehumidification and additional monitoring features on compatible systems |
| Smart-home platform | Google Home | Google Home and Matter-enabled apps |
Do not pay the Learning Thermostat premium simply because it is the more advanced product. Choose it when room sensing, automatic learning, broader HVAC support, its larger display or Matter compatibility will actually be useful. If you only need basic scheduling and remote control, the standard Nest is likely the better value.

Check HVAC compatibility before buying
Compatibility is more important than the Cyber Monday discount. Use Google’s Nest compatibility checker before removing the existing thermostat. Photograph the wiring and note the HVAC type first.
The standard Nest may need additional wiring or equipment in some heating-only, cooling-only, heat-pump or zone-controlled installations. The fourth-generation Learning Thermostat is designed for most 24V systems, but unusual wiring and multi-equipment configurations still need verification.
Be especially cautious with:
- High-voltage electric heating.
- Millivolt systems.
- Proprietary communicating HVAC systems.
- Some zoned systems.
- Heat pumps with unusual wiring or staging.
- Multi-stage systems that exceed the thermostat’s supported terminals.
- Humidifier, dehumidifier and ventilation equipment requiring specific terminals.
Does Nest require a C wire?
Usually not, because Nest thermostats use power-sharing technology. However, “no C wire required” does not mean every system will operate reliably without one. A C wire or Nest Power Connector may be necessary when the HVAC system cannot provide stable power under all conditions.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minutePower problems can appear as intermittent shutdowns, battery warnings, Wi-Fi disconnections or unexpected cycling. Follow the compatibility checker rather than relying only on a general compatibility percentage. If the wiring is unclear or the system is complex, have an HVAC professional verify it.

Calculate the real cost
Use this calculation before comparing offers:
Effective cost = sale price + required accessories + installation − confirmed utility rebate
Possible added costs include a Nest Power Connector, trim or steel plates, professional installation, extra temperature sensors, electrical work, sales tax and delivery. Google advertises professional installation through SafeStreets, but service area, scheduling, recycling and pricing must be confirmed for your ZIP code.
Do not subtract a guaranteed energy saving from the purchase price. Google’s “up to 31%” claim is a maximum claim, not a promise of typical household savings. Actual results depend on climate, insulation, HVAC efficiency, occupancy and temperature settings.
How to use utility rebates
A retailer discount and a utility rebate are separate savings:

- Retailer discount: Applied at checkout.
- Utility rebate: Usually claimed through your energy provider or its rebate portal.
- Installation incentive: May require professional installation.
- Regional program: May depend on ZIP code, account status, income, HVAC type or approved retailers.
Start with the rebate prompt on Google’s Nest buying page, enter your ZIP code and read your utility’s terms. Confirm the exact model qualifies, whether the rebate applies to a sale purchase, whether an approved retailer is required, what proof is needed and the application deadline. Save the receipt and installation documents. Treat the rebate as unconfirmed until the utility approves it.
Buy now or wait for Cyber Monday?
- Buy a confirmed sale now if the standard Nest is around $99.99 or the Learning Thermostat is around $239.99, the compatibility check passes and you need the thermostat before cold weather.
- Wait if the product is still at list price, you can tolerate stock risk and you are willing to monitor early Black Friday promotions as well as Cyber Monday.
- Do not wait for a speculative price if a verified discount already meets your target. Popular colors, bundles and inventory can disappear before November 30.
- Check policies carefully: Do not assume a retailer will price-match or adjust the price later unless its current written policy specifically allows it.
For construction and HVAC work, installation timing may be worth more than an additional small discount. A thermostat that cannot be installed correctly will not be a bargain.
App, software and older Nest models
Current Nest Thermostat models use the Google Home app for setup and control. Be wary of older instructions that direct you to the legacy Nest app.
Google’s software history lists version 2.4 for the fourth-generation Learning Thermostat on April 30, 2026, and version 2.2-9 for the Nest Thermostat on March 24, 2026. The fourth-generation update added on-device setup screens, expanded heat-pump and HVAC support, on-device advanced settings and Matter bridge support. Updates may take several weeks to reach all connected thermostats.
The third-generation Learning Thermostat is listed by Google as no longer sold. A low price on old stock, open-box equipment or a marketplace listing should not be compared directly with a new fourth-generation product. Check generation, model number, condition, warranty, included accessories and return period.
Cyber Monday buying checklist
- Confirm whether the offer is genuinely for Cyber Monday or merely a regular promotion.
- Compare the price with the $129.99 and $279.99 list prices.
- Identify the exact model and generation.
- Confirm whether the Learning Thermostat’s temperature sensor is included.
- Check new, refurbished or open-box condition.
- Review seller identity, warranty, returns, shipping and expiration.
- Run Google’s compatibility checker before disconnecting the old thermostat.
- Check for a C wire, Power Connector or professional installation requirement.
- Enter your ZIP code to check utility rebates.
- Calculate the full installed cost, not only the checkout price.
