It is not a ready-to-cut purchase: Maslow’s listing excludes both the specified DeWalt router and the flat, rigid surface the machine needs. The official guide describes browser-based control, calibration and G-code operation, but the available official pages do not establish independent accuracy or production-performance figures.
What is the Maslow upright CNC router?
Maslow describes Maslow 4 as a community-driven, open-source project intended to make large-format CNC routing accessible. Its project page shows examples such as furniture, signs, art and a boat; those are examples presented by the manufacturer, not verified evidence of cutting accuracy, throughput or production suitability. The current shop listing is for the Maslow 4.1 Kit. The project’s source page links firmware, user-interface and CAD files, and says its mechanics and PCBs are under a CC BY-SA license with an addendum. That makes modifiability and community participation part of the project’s character, rather than a claim about guaranteed support or performance. Maslow source files and licensing
What do you need besides the Maslow 4.1 kit?
The product listing excludes the router and a flat, rigid surface. The router is required for cutting, not merely an optional upgrade. Before ordering, confirm what the current kit listing includes and whether you can provide a suitable surface. Maslow CNC Shop

Router model and voltage
The listing names the DeWalt DW611, and names the DeWalt D26200 for 240 V regions. Do not assume those models are interchangeable or that the mounting will be identical: Maslow’s assembly instructions identify the DeWalt 611 as the router used in Maslow 4 and note reports that the mounting plate does not fit quite right on the 240 V version. Price, stock and ordering terms
When the official shop page was checked for this article, it listed the Maslow 4.1 Kit at $525 USD and marked it sold out. Those are a time-sensitive price and availability snapshot, not a guarantee of current stock or price. The listing also says shipping is calculated at checkout and customs and duties are not included for international shipping. It warns that the product is still new and requires a fair amount of fiddling, so plan for setup effort rather than a turnkey installation. Check the live listing for current terms before ordering. Bits and replacement parts
The shop lists router bits and accessories, along with Maslow 4.1 spare and replacement parts. The reviewed shop pages do not establish specific compatible bit models, so confirm compatibility with Maslow or the bit manufacturer rather than relying on a general bit category. Maslow CNC Shop
How assembly and setup work
Maslow’s final assembly and user guides divide the work into mechanical assembly and machine setup. The published steps describe placing the router assembly on the sled, joining the linear rod supports, connecting the two stepper motors and plugging in the machine. The guide then covers updating firmware, connecting over Wi-Fi, calibration, setting a home position and running a G-code file. Maslow documentation

How do you control a Maslow 4?
The user guide describes a built-in control interface accessed in a web browser. It says users can connect from Windows, Mac or Linux computers, as well as iOS and Android phones or tablets. The machine creates a Wi-Fi network; the guide covers firmware updates, calibration and running G-code through the interface. Maslow documentation

The official pages reviewed describe the design, setup and operation, but do not provide independently measured accuracy, repeatability, cutting speed or production-throughput results. The project examples on Maslow’s site show kinds of work the company features; they should not be read as test data or a promise that a particular job will meet a particular tolerance. For construction or shop work where dimensions and repeatability matter, seek evidence for the specific material, tool, setup and workflow you plan to use before relying on the machine for production.
