AP attributed the information to a person familiar with the situation who spoke anonymously because the move had not been announced. The report mentioned trade rumors but did not confirm a trade or name a destination.
Is Marvin Harrison Jr. playing against the Lions?
AP reported on October 10, 2026, that Harrison would be inactive for the Cardinals’ game against Detroit the following day. The report relied on an unnamed source and said Arizona had not announced the move at the time. It is therefore an advance report of an expected inactive designation, not confirmation in that account of a final official status. Associated Press report

Does the report confirm a trade?
No. Although the AP headline referred to trade rumors, the report did not establish that Arizona had completed a trade or identify a prospective destination. Rumors should not be presented as a transaction. A later official status or transaction update is not established by the AP report; confirmation would require a newer authoritative announcement from the Cardinals or NFL.
What does the report say about Harrison’s season?
AP said Harrison had five catches for 85 receiving yards and one touchdown through the first four games of the 2026 season. Those figures describe that specific early-season window as reported by AP, not the full season.

What context did AP give for his role?
AP described first-year Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur and quarterback Jacoby Brissett as supportive of Harrison. It also cited Michael Wilson’s emergence and tight end Trey McBride’s presence as context for Harrison’s limited role in the offense. This is the context presented in the AP report, rather than a separately confirmed explanation for the expected inactive designation.
