Lymow One Robotic Mower Debuts at CES 2024 With Tracks and Wire-Free Navigation

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The Lymow One was previewed at CES 2024—not launched as a widely available retail product. Its defining ideas were a tracked drive system, RTK/VSLAM wire-free navigation, a 16-inch rotary cutting deck, and a manufacturer-claimed ability to handle slopes as steep as 45 degrees. The concept targeted large, uneven and steep lawns where small wheeled robotic mowers can struggle.

That distinction matters today: as of August 18, 2026, Lymow’s U.S. and Canadian product page listed the original One at $2,999 but marked it sold out, while directing buyers toward the newer Lymow One Plus.

What debuted at CES 2024?

Lymow presented the One as a preview of a different kind of robotic mower. Instead of relying on small wheels and buried perimeter cable, it used tank-style tracked treads, virtual boundaries and a wider rotary cutting system.

The design was aimed at lawns with steep grades, loose soil, roots, gravel, wet grass or dense growth. The CES announcement described the product as a preview, so it should not be characterized as broadly available for purchase during the January 2024 show. Lymow’s CES announcement supports that more cautious description.

Why the tracked design was significant

Tracks spread a machine’s weight over more surface area than narrow wheels. In theory, that can improve traction on slopes and reduce the chance of one wheel spinning on uneven or slippery ground. A tracked platform can also cross small changes in surface height more confidently.

There are trade-offs. Tracks and their drive hardware can add weight, complexity and maintenance. Tight turns may mark soft turf, particularly when the ground is wet. At 77.6 pounds (35.2 kilograms), the One is also much closer to heavy outdoor power equipment than to a lightweight garden gadget.

Lymow lists a maximum slope of 45 degrees, which is mathematically equivalent to a 100% grade, and obstacle clearance of up to 50 millimeters (about 2 inches). These are manufacturer specifications, not independent field-test results. A mower’s ability to climb a stated maximum does not mean every lawn with that angle is suitable: moisture, soil, grass condition, slope length, direction of travel, transitions and turning behavior all matter.

How the wire-free navigation works

The One combines RTK and VSLAM navigation. RTK uses satellite positioning corrected by a local reference station to provide highly precise location data. VSLAM uses cameras and other onboard sensors to help the machine build or refine a map while it moves.

According to Lymow’s listed specifications, the mower supports:

  • Up to an advertised 1-kilometer (3,200-foot) RTK coverage radius.
  • Up to 80 mowing zones.
  • Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 4G connectivity.
  • Map storage for up to 15 acres.
  • Up to 10 minutes of mowing without RTK under the listed specification.

The company also says the mower can use visual data, inertial measurement and wheel encoders when RTK signals are weak. That does not make the system setup-free or make VSLAM a universal replacement for strong RTK coverage.

  • Smart Auto Mapping & Multi-Zone Lawn Management. Automatically scans and maps your yard, enabling precise multi-zone management through the app. Customize mowing schedules, define different cutting areas, and optimize efficiency for front yard, backyard, and side zones with ease.
  • Fully Automated Lawn Care – Set It and Forget It. From intelligent path planning to automatic recharging, the mower handles everything on its own. Enjoy a hands-free lawn care experience, saving time and effort while maintaining a perfectly trimmed lawn every day.

“Wire-free” means the owner does not have to bury a perimeter cable. The owner still needs to position and power the RTK reference station, establish a map, define virtual boundaries and mark exclusion zones. Dense tree cover, roofs, walls and other obstructions can weaken satellite visibility. Mapping mistakes can send the mower toward an unintended area or stop it from covering a narrow section of lawn.

Cutting system and advertised performance

The One uses dual rotary mulching blades rather than the small blade discs found on many robotic mowers. Lymow lists a 16-inch (400-millimeter) cutting width, a cutting-height range of 1.2 to 4 inches (30 to 100 millimeters), a blade speed of 6,000 rpm, rated power of 300 watts and peak power of 1,200 watts.

The listed specifications also include a laboratory-measured noise claim of 68 dB, maximum runtime of three hours, coverage of up to 0.57 acres (2,300 square meters) per charge and daily coverage of up to 1.73 acres (7,000 square meters).

Those figures require context. Runtime and coverage are not interchangeable: coverage depends on travel speed, overlap, grass density, slopes, turning and time spent returning to the dock. The daily acreage figure is tied to use with the 10A fast charger and stated operating conditions. Lymow’s “9× mowing efficiency” language is a marketing comparison whose meaning depends on the baseline used.

Rotary blades may be better suited to a wider, more conventional mower-like cut, but the hardware alone does not prove a superior finish on every grass species or in every mowing schedule. Like most robotic mowers, the One is better viewed as a frequent-maintenance cutter than as a replacement for clearing severely overgrown grass in one pass.

Battery and charging

The One uses a 15-Ah, 35.2-volt LiFePO4 battery. Lymow lists a claimed life of 2,000 charge cycles, a maximum runtime of three hours and charging from 10% to 90% in 90 minutes with the 10A adapter. With the 2.5A adapter, the listed charging time is 360 minutes.

Real-world results will vary with slope, grass density, temperature, travel distance and how often the mower returns to its dock. A fast charger can be important for a large property because the advertised daily coverage depends partly on minimizing charging downtime.

Safety and weather considerations

Lymow lists AI vision, five ultrasonic detectors, front bumper sensors, off-ground blade shutoff, slope-control functions, rain-sensing return behavior and IPX6 water resistance.

These features should reduce risk, not eliminate the need for supervision and preparation. Obstacle detection cannot guarantee recognition of every toy, cable, branch, animal or small object. Owners should clear the lawn before each cycle and follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions around children and pets.

IPX6 is a water-ingress rating. It is not permission to submerge the mower, pressure-wash it or operate it in every weather condition.

Installation and property checks

Before considering the One, inspect the property rather than focusing only on its headline slope number.

  • RTK station: It needs suitable placement, power and an adequate view of the sky.
  • Dock: The charging station requires a stable, accessible location and practical cable routing.
  • Access: Check narrow gates, steps, drainage channels, retaining-wall edges and abrupt lawn transitions.
  • Mapping: Walk the perimeter accurately and create exclusions around beds, ponds, drop-offs and obstacles.
  • Edges: Expect to use a string trimmer or manual edger around walls, fences, beds and borders.
  • Recovery: A 77.6-pound mower stuck at the bottom of a slope is not easy to retrieve.

Wet conditions deserve special caution. Tracks may improve traction, but wet grass can increase clumping, deck clogging and turf marking. Steep-slope climbing also does not guarantee safe stopping or turning on the same slope.

Who was the Lymow One for?

The concept made the most sense for owners of large, steep or uneven lawns who wanted to avoid burying boundary wire and had the budget and patience for RTK installation, virtual mapping and heavier equipment.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

It was less compelling for a small, flat suburban lawn, a property with dense tree cover or many disconnected sections, or a buyer seeking a lightweight appliance with a mature dealer and service ecosystem. It was also a poor fit for anyone unwilling to clear objects from the lawn or perform regular blade, deck, track and charging-contact maintenance.

What happened after CES?

The original One remains listed on Lymow’s website, but as of August 18, 2026, the U.S. and Canadian page showed a $2,999 price and marked the product sold out. A product page should not be treated as proof of immediate inventory.

Lymow now promotes the Lymow One Plus as the successor. The page observed on that date listed the One Plus at $3,199 for the 10A version and $2,999 for the 5A version, although prices and availability can change.

The One Plus retains the tracked, RTK/VSLAM concept while marketing newer features such as a floating cutting deck, leaf mulching, anti-theft tracking and automatic deck lifting. Those are successor-model features and should not be attributed retroactively to the CES 2024 One.

Bottom line

The Lymow One was an unusually ambitious CES 2024 preview, especially because it combined tracked mobility, a wide rotary cutting deck and wire-free RTK/VSLAM navigation. Its advertised specifications addressed real weaknesses of some conventional wheeled robotic mowers.

But the 45-degree rating, acreage figures, noise level, efficiency language and battery-cycle claim remain manufacturer claims rather than independent test results. The mower also required substantial installation and property preparation, and the original model is currently marked sold out in the United States and Canada. For current buyers, the relevant product is the One Plus—not the CES-era One.
