Lidl’s 15-in-1 Monsieur Cuisine Smart launched at £299 — but is it still available?

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Short answer: Lidl’s SilverCrest Monsieur Cuisine Smart is a connected multi-cooker and food processor that launched in the UK in August 2025 at £299 for Lidl Plus members or £399 for non-members. It offered guided recipes, built-in scales, steaming, blending, cooking and more, but the original promotion was limited and its 2026 stock and price are not confirmed. It was marketed as more than £1,000 cheaper than a Thermomix, although that saving depends on the Thermomix model and prices used for comparison.

What is Lidl’s Monsieur Cuisine Smart?

The SilverCrest Monsieur Cuisine Smart is a countertop multi-cooker and food processor sold through Lidl GB. It combines food preparation, weighing, heating and guided cooking in one appliance, putting it in the same broad category as a Thermomix rather than functioning simply as a blender or conventional food processor.

The August 2025 launch coverage described it as a 15-in-1 kitchen appliance. Lidl’s current product information also calls it a “23-in-1 Kitchen Assistant”. Those figures should not be treated as interchangeable: they appear to use different ways of counting functions, programmes or individual tasks. “15-in-1” is best understood as marketing shorthand, not proof that the appliance replaces 15 full-size machines.

What can it do?

Lidl lists capabilities including:

  • Steaming
  • Sautéing and searing
  • Blending and puréeing
  • Chopping
  • Whisking
  • Stirring and kneading
  • Slow cooking
  • Fermenting
  • Sous vide cooking
  • Weighing ingredients
  • Guided cooking

Some of these are physical functions, while others are cooking modes or software-assisted features. The machine can prepare ingredients and cook in its bowl, but a “15-in-1” label does not mean every function can be used at once or that performance matches a dedicated appliance.

Key features and specifications

  • 8-inch colour touchscreen: used for controls, recipes and guided instructions.
  • Built-in scales: ingredients can be weighed as part of preparation.
  • More than 600 pre-installed recipes: Lidl also provides video-guided cooking, shopping-list tools and a weekly meal planner.
  • Wi-Fi connectivity: used for connected features and updates.
  • Google Assistant voice control: this requires an activated Wi-Fi connection, and Lidl describes the voice-control feature as somewhat limited.
  • Dishwasher-safe accessories: the included cooking and steaming components are designed to make cleaning easier.
  • Reported 10 speed settings: this figure was included in the launch coverage and should be checked against the manual for any specific UK edition.

The recipe count is useful context, but it does not independently establish recipe quality, accuracy, variety, British ingredient coverage or long-term software support. Lidl says recipes can be adapted manually and highlights lactose-free, low-fat, gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan cooking; those descriptions are not medical or nutritional guarantees.

Price and availability

As of the latest information supplied for this article, Lidl still has a Monsieur Cuisine information page, but it does not confirm that the original £299 or £399 offer remains available, nor that the appliance is currently in stock. Check the official Lidl page and local availability before travelling or paying a reseller. Lidl Plus is a loyalty scheme; the lower launch price did not guarantee stock.

Was it really over £1,000 cheaper than a Thermomix?

That headline is plausible as a description of the launch-price gap against a premium Thermomix, but it is not a universal saving. A reliable calculation must name:

  1. The Thermomix model being compared.
  2. The official UK list price on the comparison date.
  3. Whether Lidl’s £299 member price or £399 non-member price is used.
  4. Whether accessories, delivery, recipe services or subscriptions are included.
  5. Whether warranty and after-sales support are being compared.

Accordingly, the precise claim should be phrased as: At its reported £299 Lidl Plus launch price, the Monsieur Cuisine Smart was marketed as more than £1,000 cheaper than a premium Thermomix, although the exact saving depends on the model and prices used.

Do not apply the old figure automatically to a current Thermomix model. For an up-to-date premium comparison, use the official UK Thermomix site and record the model, date and included extras.

Monsieur Cuisine Smart versus Thermomix

There is clear feature overlap. Both product categories can combine guided recipes, ingredient weighing, heating, cooking in the bowl, chopping, blending, kneading and steaming. The Lidl machine also has a touchscreen, connected recipe features and voice-control support.

That overlap does not establish equivalent performance. The available information does not independently compare the machines’ motor power, temperature precision, bowl capacity, maximum working quantities, noise, durability or cooking results. It also does not prove that either recipe platform is better.

The more important distinction may be ownership ecosystem. Before buying, compare:

  • Recipe database depth, regional recipes and offline access
  • App and software support
  • Accessory range and replacement-part availability
  • Warranty, repair and customer-support arrangements
  • Capacity for the quantities you normally cook
  • Whether connectivity or an account is needed for particular features

Lidl’s page states that recipes do not require an additional payment. It also describes a three-year warranty and one-for-one replacement service, including replacement of an item or part within 10 working days. Confirm that those terms apply to the exact UK edition and purchase date, and remember that a commercial warranty is separate from statutory consumer rights.

Cleaning and everyday ownership

The “self-clean” description should not be read as maintenance-free. Lidl’s pre-rinse instructions say to remove large food residue, add 500ml of water and a drop of washing-up liquid, then activate the pre-rinse function.

Blades, seals, lids and areas containing dried or baked-on food may still require manual attention. Dishwasher-safe parts can reduce the workload, but buyers should check which components are safe to put in the dishwasher and follow the supplied instructions.

Who should consider it?

  • Budget-conscious cooks wanting guided, one-pot meal preparation
  • Beginners who value on-screen instructions and built-in weighing
  • Households that will use steaming, blending and cooking functions regularly
  • Meal planners who would benefit from shopping-list and weekly-planner tools
  • Buyers who can confirm genuine Lidl stock at a sensible price

Who should be cautious?

  • Anyone expecting a direct Thermomix substitute without compromises
  • Large households that need high working capacity
  • Buyers who require guaranteed long-term access to parts and accessories
  • People who rely heavily on voice control or uninterrupted online features
  • Those wanting an extensive third-party recipe community or premium support network
  • Anyone considering an inflated marketplace or reseller price after a limited Lidl launch

Buying checklist

  1. Confirm the exact model name: SilverCrest Monsieur Cuisine Smart.
  2. Check current Lidl stock and the actual price, rather than relying on the 2025 launch promotion.
  3. Find out whether Lidl Plus is required for any advertised discount.
  4. Check collection or delivery arrangements.
  5. Verify bowl and steamer capacities and the included accessories.
  6. Read the warranty terms for the exact UK product.
  7. Check how replacement parts and accessories are supplied.
  8. Confirm which features require Wi-Fi, an account or an internet connection.
  9. Allow for manual cleaning despite the pre-rinse function.

Verdict

At £299 for Lidl Plus members, the Monsieur Cuisine Smart was a compelling lower-cost way to get guided cooking, built-in weighing and multi-cooker functionality. It deserves to be considered as a cheaper alternative with overlapping features, not automatically as a Thermomix equivalent.

For anyone shopping now, availability is the decisive issue. The August 2025 deal has passed, and neither the original price nor current stock should be assumed without checking Lidl directly. If the appliance is available at a similar official price and its capacity, support and recipe features suit your needs, it may offer strong value. If it is only available from an expensive reseller, the saving can disappear quickly.
