Kyrgyzstan’s construction volume in January–August 2026 was reported at 1.6 times the level in the same period of 2025. Gross construction output totaled KGS 300,495.5 million, according to Akchabar’s October 4 report; the comparison is year over year, not against the preceding eight months.
What the 1.6-fold increase measures
The National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic’s September 14, 2026 economic update reported construction volume for January–August at 1.6 times the same period a year earlier (National Statistical Committee update). Akchabar reported gross construction output of KGS 300,495.5 million for those eight months (Akchabar, October 4, 2026).

In practical terms, 1.6 times the prior-year level means the reported volume was 60% higher than in January–August 2025. It does not mean construction grew 1.6 times compared with the immediately preceding eight months.

August output and the separate investment measure
Akchabar reported August gross construction output of KGS 55,340.8 million, 1.6 times August 2025. It also reported fixed-capital investment of KGS 281,784.3 million for January–August 2026, 1.6 times the corresponding 2025 period in comparable prices. For August alone, fixed-capital investment was KGS 43,467.3 million, 1.8 times August 2025 (Akchabar, October 4, 2026).

These are related but distinct indicators, not alternative estimates of one total. Construction output describes work performed; fixed-capital investment tracks capital directed to assets. The comparable-prices qualification is explicitly reported for the cumulative investment comparison. It should not be transferred to the output figures without the relevant statistical table or methodology.
How the construction figures fit the wider economy
The National Statistical Committee reported GDP of KGS 1,396.8 billion in January–August 2026, up 11.0% year over year, and said construction’s share of GDP was 2.0 percentage points higher than in the same period of 2025 (National Statistical Committee update). That change in share is not evidence that construction alone generated the economy’s GDP growth.

The same update reported nationwide consumer prices and tariffs up 7.6% over January–August compared with December 2025. That is general price context, not the stated price basis for the construction-output figures.

The headline figures establish strong year-on-year growth in the reported aggregate, but they do not identify its cause or distribution. The cited reporting does not provide a breakdown of the January–August increase by region, building type, public or private funding, or project category. The numbers alone therefore cannot show which locations or kinds of construction drove the change.

The National Statistical Committee’s construction statistics section lists releases and tables covering individual housing, residential buildings, social facilities, investment, construction work, and methodology. Those materials are the appropriate place to look for finer-grained series; the headline aggregate does not supply that detail.
