Yes, Kohler’s Numi 2.0 is a real Alexa-enabled smart toilet—but it is not a new product that is merely “coming soon.” Kohler announced it on February 19, 2019, and currently lists the U.S. model K-30754-PA-0 for sale. The displayed price was $12,999.97 on August 18, 2026, compared with a listed price of $17,333.30. That is the toilet price only; delivery, installation, electrical work, plumbing changes, permits, taxes, and service may cost extra.
Availability is not the same as guaranteed immediate delivery, so buyers should confirm inventory and lead time with Kohler or an authorized dealer.

What “Alexa inside” actually means
The Numi 2.0 has integrated voice-control hardware and speakers that support Amazon Alexa. Kohler says users can issue voice commands for supported toilet functions, change lighting, play music, and use general Alexa features such as checking the weather, traffic, and news.

It is therefore more accurate to call the Numi 2.0 a smart toilet with integrated Amazon Alexa capability than to suggest Alexa replaces the remote, app, or automatic controls. Kohler’s materials do not establish that every Alexa function is available in every region or without setup, account linking, and an internet connection.

Technical requirements before you order
The Numi 2.0 is not a simple toilet-seat upgrade. Kohler’s technical specification sheet identifies these requirements:
- 12-inch rough-in
- Floor-mounted installation with a concealed trapway
- Dedicated 120-volt, 60 Hz electrical service
- Class A GFCI protection
- 15-amp dedicated circuit, as specified in the installation notes
- Installation in accordance with applicable plumbing and electrical codes
Have a qualified plumber and electrician inspect the bathroom before purchase. The existing toilet location may have the wrong rough-in, the bathroom may lack a suitable circuit, or local code may affect outlet placement and accessibility.

The toilet is not universally compliant in every installation.

What happens during a power outage?
Kohler specifies an emergency-flush system capable of supporting up to 100 flushes during a power outage, activated by a touch button.
That does not mean the toilet operates normally without power. The documented backup applies to flushing; users should not assume that heated water, the bidet wand, dryer, heated seat, lighting, speakers, deodorizer, sensors, or connected features will all continue to work. Kohler’s specification sheet does not provide a complete feature-by-feature outage matrix.
Does it need Wi-Fi or an internet connection?
Kohler’s materials describe cloud-connected KOHLER Konnect functionality and app-based controls, but they do not fully document which features work offline. They also do not answer every practical connectivity question, including:
- Whether Alexa works during an internet outage
- Which functions require a Kohler account or Amazon account
- Whether basic cleansing and flushing remain available if cloud services fail
- How long connected features will be supported if services change or are discontinued
- Whether Alexa support varies by country or region
Ask Kohler or the installing dealer for those details before committing to the purchase. Do not assume that every toilet function is cloud-dependent, but do not assume that every smart feature is local either.

Bathroom privacy is a legitimate question
An Alexa-enabled device in a bathroom raises privacy questions that Kohler’s reviewed product materials do not answer in detail. Prospective buyers should ask:
- Is there a physical microphone mute control or privacy switch?
- What wake-word processing happens locally?
- What audio is sent to Amazon?
- Can Alexa be disabled while retaining bidet, flushing, and heating functions?
- Is an Amazon account required for voice control or for normal toilet operation?
- How are voice recordings and account data handled?
Those questions should be resolved with current Kohler and Amazon documentation rather than inferred from the phrase “Alexa inside.”
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is the Numi 2.0 worth nearly $13,000?
For most homeowners, the Numi 2.0 makes sense only as part of a high-end bathroom renovation. Its price buys an unusually integrated experience: cleansing, drying, heating, automatic operation, lighting, audio, app control, and voice interaction in one fixture.
Recommended Free Tools
But the price is only the beginning of the project. Installation may require a new dedicated circuit, GFCI protection, professional plumbing work, delivery coordination, permits, and specialized servicing. A complex integrated toilet can also be harder to repair or replace than a conventional toilet paired with a separate bidet seat.

It is a poor fit for renters, bathrooms without suitable electrical infrastructure, buyers who only want bidet cleansing, and anyone treating Alexa as the primary reason to spend thousands more. The voice assistant and entertainment features are conveniences, not necessities for the toilet’s core functions.
Alternatives to consider
Kohler Innate, Veil, and Eir
Kohler’s current smart-home catalog includes the Innate, Veil, Eir, and Numi 2.0. Kohler’s comparison chart shows the Veil in floor-mounted and wall-hung configurations and identifies the Numi 2.0’s integrated speakers, Amazon Alexa capability, and wireless streaming as distinguishing features. The reviewed material does not verify current prices or every configuration for the other models, so buyers should compare their exact model specifications with a dealer.
A bidet seat
A bidet seat can retain an existing toilet and is usually the lower-commitment route. It may still require electrical work, but it avoids replacing the entire bowl and makes future servicing or replacement simpler. Kohler offers a range of bidet seats.
A less elaborate smart toilet
A standalone smart toilet can provide integrated cleansing, heating, drying, and automatic functions without the Numi’s speaker, lighting, and Alexa package. This can be the better choice when bathroom comfort matters more than voice control and whole-room ambience.
Buying checklist
- Confirm that you are shopping in the correct country and that model K-30754-PA-0 is the intended configuration.
- Verify the 12-inch rough-in and floor outlet conditions.
- Have an electrician confirm the dedicated 120-volt, 60 Hz, 15-amp GFCI circuit requirement.
- Ask Kohler or an authorized dealer about current stock, delivery lead time, installation, warranty service, and replacement parts.
- Confirm the complete installed project cost rather than relying on the displayed toilet price.
- Get written answers about Alexa setup, microphone mute controls, account requirements, privacy, and offline operation.
- Compare the Numi 2.0 with a bidet seat or another Kohler smart toilet before deciding whether its audio and lighting features justify the premium.
Kohler’s installation services, technical-support resources, and support and warranty portal are useful starting points for confirming site requirements.
The bottom line
Kohler’s Numi 2.0 is genuine, and Alexa is genuinely integrated through the toilet’s speakers and voice-control system. However, the “coming soon” framing belongs to the February 2019 announcement, not to the current U.S. product status. Kohler now lists it for sale at a displayed $12,999.97, but stock and delivery still need to be confirmed.
For a luxury renovation, its combination of bidet cleansing, automation, lighting, audio, and voice control is distinctive. For a practical bathroom upgrade, the electrical requirements, privacy questions, service complexity, and nearly $13,000 price make a bidet seat or simpler smart toilet the more rational starting point.
