How Kaktus Towers combines private apartments and shared space
The project’s co-living proposition is a private apartment supplemented by shared building facilities. Residents have their own apartment and balcony, while kitchens, lounges and other common areas provide additional places to work, eat or gather. The operator describes social participation as optional: access to communal life does not require residents to take part in every event or activity.
That distinction matters when judging the layout. Shared facilities add options, but they do not make a small private apartment equivalent to a larger home. The practical fit depends on how much cooking, working and relaxing a resident wants to do inside their own unit.
Apartment sizes, balconies and advertised starting rents
Kaktus Towers’ current apartment page lists two types. The building has 462 one-room apartments and 33 two-room apartments, for 495 total. The rents below are the operator’s advertised starting prices accessed October 8, 2026; utilities are additional, and the figures do not establish availability or a like-for-like comparison with other Copenhagen rentals.

Balcony size is worth checking for the exact unit: one-room apartments do not all have the same balcony area. Ask the operator for the current rent, availability, unit plan and any other costs before deciding.
What is shared, and what costs extra?
The operator lists shared lounges, a café, work areas, an event room, laundry and a communal kitchen. Each tower has one work area. Having access to facilities does not mean every service is included in rent.

- Utilities: additional to the advertised starting rents.
Confirm which common areas and services are open to residents, how they are booked, and what they cost under the current terms. The listed facilities describe the operator’s offer, not a guarantee that every amenity is free or available at all times.
Furnishing and the mattress detail to check before moving
The operator describes the apartments as partly furnished. The listed package includes a built-in bed/sofa, shelving and storage, a fold-out table, lamp, mirror, hook and curtain, plus a refrigerator with freezer compartment and a portable hob. The kitchen is identified as a Reform designer kitchen.

Residents provide their own mattress. The operator advises waiting until move-in to buy one because the required size varies by apartment type. Confirm the dimensions for the specific unit rather than assuming a standard mattress will fit.
Where the towers sit in Copenhagen
Kaktus Towers is beside Dybbølsbro Station, at the entrance to Fisketorvet, and near Vesterbro, Kødbyen and Islands Brygge, according to the property site. The operator says a harbour bath is five minutes away; treat that as its own proximity claim and check the route and travel time that matter to you.

The setting makes transport and nearby neighbourhood destinations a central part of the proposition. For a prospective tenant, it is useful to assess the actual journey to work, study or regular destinations, as well as how much private interior space is needed day to day.

BIG lists Kaktus Towers as a completed Copenhagen residential project with a project area of 26,100 m² and towers 80 m high. Catella’s 2025 announcement describes two towers of 24 and 21 floors, approximately 26,000 m² in total, 495 apartments and four commercial spaces. The area figures differ slightly because the sources publish them at different precision; they should not be treated as one exact measurement.

BIG describes the towers as rising from an elevated green plateau, with each level twisting to give apartments different perspectives. Catella reports that residents began moving in during September 2022. Catella also reported DGNB certification and a September 2024 CTBUH award for Europe’s best tall building; BIG lists CTBUH’s 2024 “Best Tall Building Under 100 Meters” Award of Excellence and the overall “Best Tall Building in Europe” category win. These are recognitions, not independent proof of performance beyond the awards’ criteria.
Who might find the arrangement practical?
The trade-off is clearest for someone deciding between private floor area and access to facilities outside the apartment. Kaktus Towers may suit a renter who values a central location, a balcony and shared amenities more than having a larger private home. A renter who expects to cook, work and spend most of their time at home may want to scrutinize the unit’s exact layout and private space before committing.
The operator states a minimum stay of eight months. Before applying, confirm the current rent and unit availability, utilities and other extra charges, the exact balcony and apartment dimensions, what furnishings are present, and the current rules for shared facilities.
