Hubbell Homes says qualifying new homes will include a Kinetico K5 reverse-osmosis drinking-water system supplied by Bright Water Kinetico. The offer applies only to select addresses and has home-type and construction-date exclusions, so buyers should confirm inclusion for their specific home.
What water filter is Hubbell Homes installing?
The announced system is the Kinetico K5 RO Drinking Water System, supplied by Bright Water Kinetico. Hubbell says it connects to the kitchen sink and refrigerator or refrigerators. Where the home configuration allows, additional connections may serve a lower-level wet bar or refrigerator. The company’s announcement describes the system and its installation plans at Hubbell Homes’ announcement.
Hubbell Realty’s Senior Vice President of Iowa Homebuilding and Land Development, Rachel Flint, said in the announcement: “Hubbell Homes is one of the first homebuilders in the state to install these systems as standard because we believe some of the most important features in a home are the ones you can’t see. Water quality is at the top of mind for so many Iowans, and we wanted to be part of the ongoing solution.” That is the company’s characterization, not an independently established ranking of Iowa builders.
Which new homes qualify?
The announcement says the K5 is included only at select addresses in new Hubbell Homes dug on or after September 1, 2026. The stated offer has important limits:

Because the offer is address-specific and its terms can change, ask the home sales professional to confirm the system’s inclusion for the property and review the current incentive sheet. The announcement does not identify the exact qualifying addresses.
What does the nitrate-reduction claim mean?
Hubbell’s announcement says the K5 can reduce nitrates by “up to 91.2 percent.” The announcement does not provide test conditions or independent verification, so the figure should be understood as the builder’s stated maximum claim—not a guaranteed result for every installation or household water supply. It also does not identify the system’s certifying body or certification scope.

KCCI reported in April 2026 that Central Iowa Water Works’ nitrate-removal facility had operated partially for 107 days that year as nitrate levels rose in the Des Moines and Raccoon rivers. Its coverage described reverse osmosis as an under-sink option and quoted a Culligan technician discussing additional treatment for people seeking to go beyond municipal treatment. - Is this specific address included, and does its construction date meet the stated cutoff?
- Does the home’s style or slab-on-grade construction trigger an exclusion?
- Which sink, refrigerator or wet-bar connections are included in this floor plan?
- What maintenance schedule and replacement-filter costs apply? Hubbell’s announcement does not state them.
- What performance documentation and certification apply to the system? The announcement does not specify these details.
- Who handles service or warranty questions after closing? The announcement directs buyers to Bright Water Kinetico for upgrades, additions and warranty matters.
