Richard Gere’s “$10 million New York mansion” refers to a Georgian-style home in North Salem that he and his wife reportedly bought for $9.8 million in 2022. The reported details establish its age and room count, but not a full interior tour or a verified current owner.

Where was Richard Gere’s $10 million mansion?

The house is in North Salem, New York. The Real Deal reported in January 2022 that Gere and his wife paid $9.8 million for the property; “$10 million” is a rounded version of that reported purchase price, not an appraisal or statement of its present value. The Real Deal’s 2022 report described the home as a Georgian-style mansion built in the 1930s.

What is known about the North Salem home?

The reported specifications offer a limited picture of the house: seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, in a 1930s-built Georgian-style mansion. The cited coverage does not provide a documented room-by-room interior tour, floor area, or detailed account of construction materials and finishes. Those details should not be inferred from the style description alone.

How is it different from Gere’s Pound Ridge estate?

Gere’s North Salem mansion is distinct from his former compound in nearby Pound Ridge, a separate property that received extensive coverage. The Los Angeles Times described that estate as spanning 49 acres, with an 11,658-square-foot, three-story main house, guesthouses, a stable, a private lake, a sandy beach, sports facilities, a swimming pool and a dining pavilion. Those acreage, size and amenity details belong to Pound Ridge, not the North Salem home. The Los Angeles Times reported its sale for $24.15 million after it had been listed for $28 million in 2022.

Did Richard Gere sell the North Salem mansion?

Realtor.com reported in 2026 that Gere sold the North Salem home for $19 million in October 2023. That is a reported transaction detail; current ownership has not been independently verified here. The figure is a reported sale price, not a present-day valuation. Realtor.com’s 2026 report covers the later sale.
