The Husqvarna 128CD is a discontinued, gas-powered curved-shaft trimmer. Husqvarna’s US support page identifies the model as discontinued and lists specifications for a Lowe’s Trimmer Bay SKU. Those figures describe that listed configuration, not necessarily every 128CD sold over the model’s lifetime.

Why published weights and attachments differ
A 2009 Husqvarna manual describes a 128CD with a 28 cc engine, a 0.4 L tank, a 10 lb weight excluding fuel, cutting attachment, and guard, and an approved TNG7 head. These figures should not be treated as a direct contradiction of the newer support listing: the weight exclusions differ, and the listed configurations and heads are not the same. Check the product label, manual, and installed head on the actual trimmer before ordering parts or comparing weight.

The 28 cc figure in the older manual is a rounded metric description consistent with the newer listing’s 1.71 cu in displacement. Husqvarna’s support page also identifies accessories for its listed SKU, including Titanium Force trimmer line and a T35 replacement spool; that does not establish that every head or spool fits every 128CD. Consult the manual and accessory instructions for the correct line diameter, loading procedure, and fitment.
Fuel and routine ownership requirements
The 2023 Husqvarna operator’s manual specifies fresh unleaded gasoline mixed 50:1 (2%) with high-quality air-cooled two-cycle oil. It calls for gasoline of at least 87 AKI and no more than 10% ethanol. This is a premix requirement, so the owner must measure and combine the fuel and oil rather than fill the trimmer with straight gasoline. Follow the manual for storage, starting, and maintenance procedures.

Cutting attachments and line safety
Husqvarna’s 2023 manual says: “Only use an approved trimmer line. Do not use a blade.” It also warns against blades and metal cutting attachments and directs users to approved heads and line. Do not convert the trimmer to a blade-equipped brush cutter. Verify replacement line and head compatibility for the exact model configuration, and follow the manual’s loading instructions.

Protective equipment and operating clearance
Husqvarna specifies approved eye and hearing protection, long pants, and slip-resistant boots. Its manual calls for at least 15 m (50 ft) between the operator and other people or animals before use. These are manufacturer instructions, not results of independent safety testing; read and follow the applicable manual before operating the tool.

The documentation supports a useful specifications-and-ownership assessment: the 128CD is a discontinued gas trimmer with a 50:1 fuel requirement, model-specific head and line fitment, and manufacturer-defined protective-equipment and clearance requirements. It does not establish how quickly the trimmer cuts, how easy it is to start, how comfortable it feels, how long it lasts, or its runtime. Those judgments require testing of a specific unit and cannot be inferred from horsepower, cutting width, or displacement alone.
