The exact controls and cycle names depend on the model, so check your model’s user manual before following button-by-button instructions.
First, check that your Samsung washer has a dryer
Drying is available only on washer-dryer models, and Samsung control panels and available cycles vary. Find the appliance’s model code and use it to locate the correct manual. Samsung says the manual identifies which settings work with each cycle and which cycles are available on your particular machine: Samsung: Cycles, settings, and features on your Samsung washing machine.
Choose between washing and drying together or drying only
| Option | Use it when | What to expect |

| Wash+Dry | The load needs washing and you want the machine to dry it afterward. | On supported navigation-dial models, selecting Wash+Dry lets the appliance detect the load and prepare a wash-and-dry time. |
| Dry only | The clothes are already clean and need drying. | On supported navigation-dial models, select a drying cycle such as Cotton Dry or Synthetics Dry. Other control layouts may use different steps or labels. |

Run a wash followed by drying
Samsung’s instructions for models with a navigation dial describe two ways to set a combined cycle:

- Select the wash cycle, then add the dry cycle using the controls available on your model.
- Alternatively, turn the navigation dial to Wash+Dry and start the cycle. On the models covered by Samsung’s guidance, the machine detects the load and prepares a wash-and-dry time.
Not every Samsung washer-dryer has a navigation dial or a Wash+Dry label. Use the manual for your model to confirm the sequence and supported cycles.
Run a dry-only cycle
Put in clean clothes, then choose a dry-only option supported by your machine. Samsung’s UK guidance for navigation-dial models gives these examples:

Cycle names and availability vary by model. Check the garment care label as well as your manual before choosing a setting, particularly for heat-sensitive items.
Adjust settings and check the displayed end time
On the models covered by Samsung’s UK instructions, temperature and spin speed can be adjusted after selecting a washing, drying, or combined cycle. Changing a setting may affect the displayed end time. The available adjustments and estimated time depend on the machine and selected cycle, so use the display as the model’s current estimate rather than assuming a fixed duration.

Follow your model’s cleaning and care instructions
Cleaning routines differ between standalone dryers and washer-dryer combos. Samsung Care’s general washer-and-dryer video advises putting only clean clothes in a standalone dryer and cleaning its lint filter after every dry cycle: Samsung Care: How to operate your Samsung washer and dryer. That advice does not establish that every washer-dryer combo has the same filter or maintenance routine. For a combo, follow the cleaning and maintenance instructions in the appliance’s own manual.
