To turn on a Samsung washer’s end-of-cycle chime, use the sound control supported by your specific model: a dedicated Sound or Alarm Off button, a three-second hold on a button with a secondary sound label, SmartThings, or—on some screen-equipped Bespoke models—the Settings menu. There is no universal button sequence, and some washers do not offer an adjustable alarm. Start by checking your model’s manual.
1. Find your model’s sound-control instructions
Samsung offers alarm-sound adjustment on selected washers, and the control varies by model. Find the washer’s model code and open its manual or Samsung support page. If the manual has no sound-toggle instructions, Samsung says the feature is unavailable for that model. See Samsung US guidance or, for Canadian products, Samsung Canada’s instructions.
2. Check the washer’s control panel
Look for a dedicated Sound or Alarm Off button, a crossed-speaker or bell icon, or a sound-related secondary label. Samsung US lists Super Speed, Alarm Off, and Extra Rinse as possible buttons; Samsung Canada also describes a dedicated Sound button. If the sound function is printed as a secondary label, press and hold the relevant button for three seconds. The exact control depends on the washer, so use the manual rather than trying a sequence from a different model.
3. Check SmartThings on a supported connected washer
If your washer is connected to SmartThings, open the washer in the app and look for Sounds. Depending on the model, this may be a switch or a volume slider. Some selected premium models may also show an End-of-cycle Alarm option. If you cannot find the setting, the model may not support app-based sound adjustment; check the panel and model manual as well. 4. Use Settings on a screen-equipped Bespoke model
On certain screen-equipped Bespoke washers, open Settings and select Sounds. Available options may include Sound mode, Sound theme, or Volume. Menu names and available controls vary by model; consult the model manual if these options are missing.
5. Treat regional examples as model-specific

- India: Samsung describes an AI Panel example: hold Options for three seconds, then use Navigation dial > Alarm > On/Off. In that example, the alarm is on by default and the selection persists after restart. This route is not a universal instruction. See Samsung India’s instructions.
- Australia: Samsung gives examples involving a bell icon or Alarm Off control, as well as a navigation-dial procedure on some panels. Its guidance is specifically for Australian products, and the setting remains after restart on the models described. See Samsung Australia’s instructions.
What turning on the chime does—and does not do
The alarm or completion-sound setting controls the cycle-completion melody and may also affect the power-off sound. It does not necessarily silence every washer sound: button tones and some alerts may remain on. Samsung UK likewise notes that button sounds remain on when the Sounds function is switched off; consult its guidance and your model manual for the behavior of your washer.
