Most Samsung ranges use a simple sequence: press Clock, enter the current time, and press Clock or START/SET to save it. Samsung does not use one identical control layout across every range, however. The instructions below separate numeric-keypad, Up/Down-button, and Smart Dial models so you can use the method that matches your appliance.
Most Samsung ranges: the quick method
On most Samsung ranges, press Clock, enter the current time, and press Clock or START/SET to save it. The exact sequence depends on the control panel: ranges with a number pad work differently from models with Up/Down buttons or a Smart Dial.

- Find the Clock button or clock icon on the oven control panel.
- Press Clock. If the display asks for AM or PM, press Clock again to select the correct one. Skip this step if the range uses a 24-hour display or does not show an AM/PM choice.
- Enter the current hour and minutes using the number pad or the range’s Up/Down controls.
- Press Clock or START/SET, depending on the model, to confirm.
- Check that the display returns to the current time.
For example, to enter 1:30 on a numeric keypad, press 1, 3, and 0, then confirm. If you enter the wrong time, press Clear if your range has that button and start again.
If your Samsung range has a number pad
This is the conventional procedure used by many Samsung gas, electric, and slide-in ranges, including several NX60 and NE63 families:

- Press Clock.
- Press Clock again if the range presents an AM/PM selection.
- Type the current time on the number pad. Enter the hour and minutes together—for example, 1, 3, 0 for 1:30.
- Press START/SET. Some models also accept Clock as the final confirmation.
Do not assume that holding the Clock button is required. On conventional Samsung panels, a normal press commonly opens clock adjustment, while a longer press may open a settings menu instead.
If your range uses Up/Down buttons instead of a number pad
Some Samsung ranges use directional controls to adjust the time. On documented NE63*611*S* and NE63*811*** families, the process is generally:
- Press and hold Clock/Setting to enter clock adjustment.
- Use Up and Down to set the hour and minutes.
- Press Clock or START/SET to save.
The distinction between a short press and a long press matters. On the documented NE63*811*** family, holding the control for about three seconds opens the broader Settings menu rather than ordinary clock adjustment. If your display shows a settings menu instead of a time, exit it and check the exact instructions for your model.

If your Samsung range has a Smart Dial
Smart Dial models use an on-screen menu rather than the usual number-pad sequence:
- Wake the control panel if it is in Sleep mode by pushing or turning the dial.
- Tap Menu, shown on some models as a three-horizontal-lines icon.
- Turn the dial to Set time, then select it.
- Turn the dial to enter the current time.
- Push the dial to confirm.
Smart Dial models also provide a separate Time format setting. Use it to choose a 12-hour or 24-hour display. A 12-hour display may require an AM or PM selection; a 24-hour display does not.
Why the Samsung range clock may need resetting
The most common reason is a power outage or another interruption to household power. The clock is also used by automatic oven functions, including delayed cooking and Sabbath mode, so an incorrect time can affect when those functions operate. Reset the clock after a power interruption before relying on a delayed cooking schedule.

- Material: The oven timer switch is made of metal material with high temperature resistance to ensure long service life.
- Shaft size :6 × 25mm/0.23 "x0.98", shaft shape: semicircular, pin number :2.
- It is a 60 minute delay timer switch that can set the time from 1 to 60 minutes.
- Easy installation: Microwave oven timer switch compact structure, light weight, strong, easy to install when replacing.
- Operating voltage width: Wide operating voltage, support AC120V(15A) and AC250V(16A). Widely used for timing delay control of rice cookers, electric ovens, microwave ovens, etc.
Clock, Timer, Cook Time, and Delay Start are different
The Clock sets the time of day shown on the appliance. The Timer is a separate countdown and does not start or stop cooking. While the timer is running, its countdown may temporarily replace the clock on the display; that does not mean the time of day has been changed.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Clock | Sets the current time displayed by the range. |
| Timer | Counts down and alerts you when the countdown ends; it does not control cooking. |
| Cook Time | Controls a timed cooking operation according to the model’s instructions. |
| Delay Start | Schedules cooking to begin later, using the range’s clock and model-specific settings. |
If you pressed Timer by mistake, cancel or clear the timer using the buttons shown on your panel. Then use the Clock procedure for your particular range. Do not use Timer, Cook Time, or Delay Start interchangeably.
When the usual instructions do not work
- The display is blank: Setting the clock will not restore power or repair a failed display. Check whether the range has power, but do not guess at a model-specific reset procedure.
- The panel will not accept input: The controls may be locked, the range may be in another operating mode, or the panel may have a fault. The correct unlock or recovery steps vary by model.
- The display shows a settings menu: You may have held Clock/Setting too long. Exit the menu and identify the clock procedure for your model.
- The controls do not match this article: Stop before trying a different button combination. Samsung has multiple range families with materially different interfaces.
- A cooking program is active: Changing the clock does not automatically cancel an active cooking program or alter the oven temperature. Follow the model-specific instructions for that function.
Find the exact Samsung range manual
Look for the model code on the range or in its documentation, then use Samsung’s official range-support hub to search for the product. The support pathway provides model-specific digital manuals and may also include warranty, product-registration, and repair-request options. Search for the exact model rather than relying on instructions for a similar-looking Samsung range.

If the control panel remains unresponsive, the display stays blank, or the clock cannot be set after you identify the model, use Samsung range support or Samsung’s repair pathway. A clock-setting procedure cannot repair a failed control panel or another hardware problem.

Why does my Samsung range clock need to be reset?
It may have lost its time during a power outage or interruption. Reset it before using delayed cooking, Sabbath mode, or another automatic function that depends on the displayed time.
How do I set the clock on a Samsung Smart Dial range?
Smart Dial ranges generally use Menu > Set time. Wake the panel, open Menu, select Set time with the dial, turn the dial to enter the time, and push the dial to confirm.
What should I do if these clock-setting steps do not work?
Find the exact model code and search Samsung’s official range-support hub for its manual. If the display is blank or the controls remain unresponsive, contact Samsung range support or arrange service rather than trying an unverified reset sequence.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Start with Clock, enter the time, and confirm with Clock or START/SET. If your Samsung range has Up/Down controls or a Smart Dial, use its corresponding adjustment path instead. After a power outage, reset the clock before using delayed cooking or other time-dependent functions.
